Frequently Asked Questions - RSD086GW8AE HYUNDAI

What are the overall dimensions of the Hyundai RSD086GW8AE refrigerator?
The overall dimensions are 860 mm in height, 472 mm in width, and 450 mm in depth. Additionally, allow at least 100 mm gap on each side, 300 mm above, and 100 mm behind for proper ventilation.
How do I adjust the temperature in the refrigerator?
The temperature is controlled by a thermostat knob. The settings range from MIN (warmest) to MAX (coldest), with an OFF position. For normal ambient temperatures (21-28 °C), set it to MED. Adjust as needed based on external conditions and load.
Can I freeze fresh food in the freezer compartment?
No. The freezer compartment is not suitable for freezing fresh food. It is designed for short-term storage of pre-frozen items. For safe freezing of fresh food, use a dedicated freezer.
How do I defrost the freezer compartment?
When frost becomes thick, unplug the appliance, remove all food (wrap in newspaper and store in a cool place), keep the door open, and place a basin underneath to collect defrost water. After defrosting, dry the interior thoroughly and plug it back in.
How do I reverse the door opening direction?
The door is reversible. You will need a Phillips screwdriver, flat screwdriver, and hexagonal spanner. Follow the step-by-step instructions in the manual: remove top hinge cover, unscrew top hinge, move parts to the opposite side, and reassemble. Ensure the unit is unplugged and empty before starting.
Why is the refrigerator making unusual noises?
Normal operation includes sounds from the compressor and refrigerant circulation. If noises are abnormal, check if the appliance is level, not touching walls or other objects, and that no components on the back are interfering. Adjust the leveling feet if necessary.
How do I clean the interior?
Always unplug the appliance before cleaning. Use lukewarm water and a mild neutral soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners, sharp objects, or steam cleaners. Wipe dry thoroughly before plugging back in.
What should I do if the refrigerator is not cooling?
First, check that the thermostat is not set to OFF. Ensure the power plug is securely inserted and the circuit breaker is not tripped. If the socket is defective, contact an electrician. Also, avoid frequent door opening and ensure proper ventilation around the appliance.
What refrigerant does the Hyundai RSD086GW8AE use?
It uses R600a (isobutane), a flammable but environmentally friendly refrigerant. Ensure that the refrigerant circuit is not damaged during installation or use. Keep away from open flames and ventilate the room if a leak is suspected.
How can I reduce energy consumption?
Do not put hot food inside, pack food loosely to allow air circulation, avoid frequent and long door openings, keep the door closed during power outages, set the thermostat to recommended settings, and ensure all shelves and drawers are in place.
