- Before Use - If you are not familiar with the safe operation/handling of the equipment or are in any way unsure of any aspect of suitability or correct use for your application, you should complete training conducted by a person or organization qualified in safe use and operation of this equipment, including fuel/electrical handling and safety.
- Do NOT operate the equipment in flammable or explosive environments, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust. The equipment may create sparks or heat that may ignite flammable substances.
- Keep clear of moving parts.
- Equipment may be a potential source of electric shock or injury if misused.
- Do NOT operate the equipment if it is damaged, malfunctioning or is in an excessively worn state.

General Work Area Safety
• Work areas should be clean and well it.
- Do not operate the equipment if bystanders, animals etc are within operating range of the equipment or the general work area.
- If devices are provided for connecting dust extraction / collection facilities, ensure these are connected and used properly. Dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards.

General Personal Safety
- Wear appropriate protective equipment when operating, servicing, or when in the operating area of the equipment to help protect from eye and ear injury, poisoning, burns, cutting and crush injuries. Protective equipment such as safety goggles, respirators, non-slip safety footwear, hard hat, hearing protection etc should be used for appropriate equipment / conditions. Other people nearby should also wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery, which can be caught in moving parts. Keep hair and clothing away from the equipment.
- Stay alert and use common sense when operating the equipment. Do not overreach. Always maintain secure footing and balance.
- Do not use the equipment if tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication.
- This equipment is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities.
General Fuel Safety
- Petrol/fuel/gasoline is extremely flammable – keep clear of naked flames or other ignition sources.
- Do not spill fuel. If you spill fuel, wipe it off the equipment immediately – if fuel gets on your clothing, change clothing.
- Do NOT smoke near fuel or when refuelling.
• Always shut off the engine before refuelling. - Do NOT refuel a hot engine.
- Open the fuel cap carefully to allow any pressure build-up in the tank to release slowly.
• Always refuel in well-ventilated areas. - Always check for fuel leakage. If fuel leakage is found, do not start, or run the engine until all leaks are fixed.
General Carbon-Monoxide Safety
- Using a combustion engine indoors CAN KILL IN MINUTES. Engine exhaust contains carbon-monoxide – a poison you cannot smell or see.
- Use combustion engines OUTSIDE only, and far away from windows, doors, and vents.

General Equipment Use and Care
- The equipment is designed for domestic use only.
- Handle the equipment safely and carefully.
- Before use, inspect the equipment for misalignment or binding of moving parts, loose components, damage, or any other condition that may affect its operation. If damaged, have the equipment repaired by an authorised service centre or technician before use.
- Prevent unintentional starting of the equipment - ensure equipment and power switches are in the OFF position before connecting or moving equipment. Do not carry equipment with hands or fingers touching any controls. Remove any tools or other items that are not a part of the equipment from it before starting or switching on.
- Do not force the equipment. Use the correct equipment for your application. Equipment will perform better and be safer when used within its design and usage parameters.
- Use the equipment and accessories etc. in accordance with these instructions, considering working conditions and the work to be performed. Using the equipment for operations different from those intended could result in hazardous situations.
- Always keep equipment components (engines, hoses, handles, controls, frames, housings, guards etc) and accessories (cutting tools, nozzles, bits etc) properly maintained. Keep the equipment clean and, where applicable, properly lubricated.
- Store the equipment out of reach of children or untrained persons. To avoid burns or fire hazards, let the equipment cool completely before transporting or storing. Never place or store the equipment near flammable materials, combustible gases, or liquids etc.
- The equipment is not weather-proof, and should not be stored in direct sunlight, at high ambient temperatures or locations that are damp or humid.
- Do not clean equipment with solvents, flammable liquids, or harsh abrasives.

General Electrical Safety
- Inspect electrical equipment, extension cords, power bars, and electrical fittings for damage or wear before each use. Repair or replace damaged equipment immediately.
- Ensure all power sources conform to equipment voltage requirements and are disconnected before connecting or disconnecting equipment.
- When wiring electrically powered equipment, follow all electrical and safety codes.
- Always use a Residual Current Device (RCD) (GFCI) / Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker / Safety Switch when operating this item (electrical items only).
- High voltage / high current power lines may be present. Use extreme caution to avoid contact or interference with power lines. Electrical shock can be fatal.
General Electrical Safety
- Electrically grounded equipment must have an approved cord and plug and be connected to a grounded electrical outlet.
- Do NOT bypass the ON/OFF switch and operate equipment by connecting and disconnecting the electrical cord.
- Do NOT use equipment that has exposed wiring, damaged switches, covers or guards.
- Do NOT use electrical equipment in wet conditions or in damp locations.
- Do NOT use electrical cords to lift, move or carry equipment.
- Do NOT coil or knot electrical cords, and ensure electrical cords are not trip hazards.
General Service Information

- Replacement parts must be original equipment manufacturer (OEM) to ensure equipment safety is maintained.
- Do NOT attempt any maintenance or repair work not described in this manual.
- After use, the equipment and components may still be hot – allow the equipment to cool and disconnect spark plugs and/or electrical power sources and/or batteries from it before adjusting, changing accessories, or performing repair or maintenance.
- Do NOT adjust while the equipment is running.
- Perform service-related activities in suitable conditions, such as a workshop.
- Replace worn, damaged or missing warning/safety labels immediately.

General Power Tool Safety Warnings

- The term "power tool" in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or battery-operated (cordless) power tool.
Work Area Safety
- Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
- Do not operate power tools in explosive Atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust of fumes.
- Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.
Electrical Safety
- Power plugs tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
- Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges, and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.

Personal Safety
- Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication. A moment of inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury.
- Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.
- Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off position before connecting to power source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or energising power tools that have the switch on invites accidents.
- Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury.
- Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.
- Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair and clothing away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts.
- If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used. Use of dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards.
- Do not let familiarity gained from frequent use of tools allow you to become complacent and ignore tool safety principles. A careless action can cause severe injury within a fraction of a second.
Power Tool Use and Care
- Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.
- Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
- Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or remove the battery pack, if detachable, from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.
- Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
- Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the power tool's operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
- Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.
- Use the power tool, accessories, and tool bits etc. in accordance with these instructions, considering the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.
- Keep handles and grasping surfaces dry, clean, and free from oil and grease. Slippery handles and grasping surfaces do not allow for safe handling and control of the tool in unexpected situations.
Battery Tool Use and Care
- Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of fire when used with another battery pack.
- Use power tools only with specifically designated battery packs. Use of any other battery packs may create a risk of injury and fire.
- When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws, or other small metal objects that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.
- Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.
- Do not use battery pack or tool that is damaged or modified. Damaged or modified batteries may exhibit unpredictable behaviour resulting in fire, explosion, or risk of injury.
- Do not expose a battery pack or tool to fire or excessive temperature. Exposure to fire or temperature above 130^ may cause explosion.
- Follow all charging instructions and do not charge the battery pack or tool outside the temperature range specified in the instructions. Charging range may damage the battery and increase the risk of fire.
Service
- Have your power tools serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that safety of the power tool is maintained.
- Never service damaged battery packs. Service of battery packs should only be performed by the manufacturer or authorized service providers.
Training
- Read the instructions carefully. Be familiar with the controls and the correct use of the machine.
- Never allow children or people unfamiliar with these instructions to use the machine. Local regulations can restrict the age of the operator.
- Keep in mind that the operator or user is responsible for accidents or hazards occurring to other people or their property.
Preparation
- Before use check the supply and extension cord for signs of damage or aging. If the cord becomes damaged during use, disconnect the cord from the supply immediately. DO NOT TOUCH THE CORD BEFORE DISCONNECTING THE SUPPLY. Do not use the machine if the cord is damaged or worn.
- Before use, always visually inspect the machine for damaged, missing or misplaced guards or shields.
- Never operate the machine while people, especially children, or pets are nearby.
Operation
- Keep supply and extension cords away from cutting means.
- Wear eye protection and stout shoes at all times while operating the machine.
- Avoid using the machine in bad weather conditions especially when there is a risk of lightning.
- Use the machine only in daylight or good artificial light.
- Never operate the machine with damaged guards or shields or without guards or shields in place.
- Switch on the motor only when the hands and feet are away from the cutting means.
- Always disconnect the machine from the power supply (i.e. remove the plug from the mains, remove the disabling device or removable battery).

- Inspect and maintain the machine regularly. Have the machine repaired only by an authorized repairer.

Additional Safety Warnings for Battery Pack
- Battery pack needs to be charged before use.
- Always refer to the charger's instruction and charge it Properly.
- Remove the battery pack from the product when not in use.
- Don't maintain the battery pack on the charger when not in use.
- After extended periods of storage, it may be necessary to charge and discharge the battery pack several times to obtain the maximum performance.
- Longer life and better performance can be obtained if the battery is charged when the air temperature is between 18°C and 24°C. Do not charge the battery in air temperature below 5°C or above 40°C. This is important as it can prevent serious damage to the battery.
- Do not charge battery in a damp or wet location. Following this rule will reduce the risk of electric shock.
- Do not disassemble the battery and avoid mechanical damage to the battery. Risk of short circuit and fumes may be emitted. Ensure fresh air and seek medical assistance in the event of discomfort.
- When disposing of battery pack, keep the battery pack of different electrochemical systems separate from each other.
Vibration and Noise Reduction
To reduce the impact of noise and vibration emission, limit the time of operation, use low-vibration and low-noise operating modes as well as wear personal protective equipment. Take the following points into account to minimise the vibration and noise exposure risks:
- Only use the product as intended by its design and these instructions.
- Ensure that the product is in good condition and well maintained.
- Use correct attachments for the product and ensure they are in good condition.
- Keep tight grip on the handles/grip surface.
- Maintain this product in accordance with these instructions and keep it well lubricated (where appropriate).
- Plan your work schedule to spread any high vibration tool use across a longer period of time.
- Prolonged use of the product exposes the user to vibrations that can cause a range of conditions collectively known as hand-arm vibration syndrome (HAVS) e.g. fingers going white; as well as specific diseases such as carpal tunnel syndrome. To reduce this risk when using the product, always wear protective gloves and keep your hands warm.

- Familiarise yourself with the use of this product by means of this instruction manual. Memorise the safety directions and follow them to the letter. This will help to prevent risks and hazards.
- Always be alert when using this product, so that you can recognise and handle risks early. Fast intervention can prevent serious injury and damage to property.
- Switch the product off and remove the battery pack if there are malfunctions. Have the product checked by a qualified professional and by a qualified professional and repaired, if necessary, before you operate it again.
Residual risks
Even if you are operating this product in accordance with all the safety requirements, potential risks of injury and damage remain. The following dangers can arise in connection with the structure and design of this product:
- Health defects resulting from vibration emission if the product is being used over long periods of time or not adequately managed and properly maintained.
- Injuries and damage to property due to broken attachments or the sudden impact of hidden objects during use.
- Danger of injury and property damage caused by flying objects.
Recycling and Disposal
- Waste electrical products should not be disposed of with household waste. Please recycle where facilities exist.
- Check with your Local Authority or local store for recycling advice.
- The product comes in a package that protects it against damage during shipping. Keep the package until you are sure that all parts have been delivered and the product is working properly. Recycle the package afterwards.
Disposal of an Exhausted Battery Pack
- The battery is Li-Ion type. To preserve natural resources, please recycle or dispose of the battery pack properly. Consult your local waste authority for information regarding available recycling and / or disposal options.
- Discharge your battery pack by operating your tool, then remove the battery pack from the tool and cover the battery pack connections with heavy duty adhesive tape to prevent short circuit and energy discharge.
- Do not attempt to open or remove any of the components.

Assembly
Unpacking
- Unpack all parts and lay them on a flat, stable surface.
- Remove all packing materials and shipping devices if applicable.
- Make sure the delivery contents are complete and free of any damage. If you find that parts are missing and show damage do not use the product but contact your dealer. Using an incomplete or damaged product represents a hazard to people and property.
- Ensure that you have all the accessories and tools needed for assembly and operation. This also includes suitable personal protective equipment.
WARNING! The product and the packaging are not children's toys! Children must not play with plastic bags, sheets, and small parts! There is a danger of choking and suffocation!

Set-Up
WARNING! The product must be fully assembled before operation! Do not use a product that is only partly assembled or assembled with damaged parts! Follow the assembly instructions step-by-step and use the pictures provided as a visual guide to easily assemble the product! Do not connect the product to battery pack (16) before it is completely assembled!
NOTE: Take care of small parts that are removed during assembly or when adjusting. Keep them secure to avoid loss.
Guard
- Turn the trimmer head (12) upside down.
- Align two tips of the guard (11) with the sliding slots (12f) of the trimmer head (12) (Fig. 1, step 1). Fully insert the guard (11) and make sure that the screw holes (11c, 12i) are well aligned.
- Secure the guard (11) with the screw (11a) in clockwise (Fig. 1, step 2).


WARNING! Never use the trimmer head (12) without the guard (11) property fitted.
Battery Pack
Attaching / releasing the battery pack
- Align the battery pack (16) with the sliding slots of the battery docking port (4) under the rear safeguard (3) and slide the battery pack in to attach it. Ensure it clicks in place (Fig. 2).
- Press the release button (16c) and remove the battery pack (16) from the battery docking port (4) (Fig. 3).

Charging the battery pack
The battery pack (16) for this product has been shipped in a low charge condition.
Battery capacity indicators
The battery pack is equipped with the battery capacity indicators which are used to give an indication of the battery pack's remaining capacity. Press the battery capacity button to check battery capacity. The LEDs will stay lit for approximately 2 seconds.

Operation
Intended Use
- This cordless grass trimmer is designated with a rated voltage of 18V. It is designed only to be used with the battery pack.
- The product is intended for cutting weed, grass or similar soft vegetation in areas that are hard to reach, e.g. under bushes, on slopes and edges. It may not be used to work on unusual thick, dry or wet grass, e. g. pasture grass, or to shred leaves.
- For safety reasons it is essential to read the entire instruction manual before first operation and to observe all the instructions therein.
- This product is intended for private domestic use only, not for any commercial trade use. It must not be used for any purposes other than those described.
Auxiliary Handle Adjustment
Adjust the angle of the auxiliary handle (15) to fit the intended application.
- Loosen the lock button (15a) clockwise (Fig.5, step 1), then rotate the auxiliary handle (15) forward or backward to adjust the angle (Fig. 5, step 2).
- Tight the lock button (15a) in anti-clockwise to secure the auxiliary Length adjustment in position (Fig.5, step 3).
Length Adjustment
Adjust the pole length to fit the body length.
- Loosen the locking sleeve (7) in clockwise (Fig. 6, step 1).
- Pull the lower pole (8) out or push it together to adjust the desired length (Fig. 6, step2).
- Tighten the locking sleeve (7) in anticlockwise (Fig. 6, step 3).
Main Handle Angle Adjustment
Adjust the main handle (1) to either 0^ for trimming or 180^ for edging.

Press down the unlock button (6) and turn the main handle (1) clockwise while holding lower pole (8) to adjust the trimmer head (12) to an angle of 180^ (Fig. 7). Release the unlock button (6) and keep turning the main handle (1) until it locks in place. Ensure the unlock button (6) snaps into place.
-
Press down the unlock button (6) and turn the main handle (1) anticlockwise while holding lower pole (8) to adjust the trimmer head (12) to an angle of 0° (Fig. 8). Release the unlock button (6) and keep turning the main handle (1) until it locks in place. Ensure the unlock button (6) snaps into place.

Trimmer Head Tilt Adjustment
Tilt the angle of trimmer head to fit the ground conditions for trimming or edging use by aligning the indicator triangle (10a) on unlock button (10) with one of three indicators of the pole support (9) (Fig. 9).
- Push the unlock button (10) and hold it in position (Fig.10, step 1).
- Move the lower pole (8) slightly up or downward (Fig.10, step 2).
- Release the unlock button (10) and keep moving the lower pole (8) until it locks in place.

WARNING! Always ensure that the unlock button (10) snaps into place after adjusting the trimmer head (12) in one of the required positions! Never adjust to an intermediate position!
Trimmer Wheel
- Use the trimmer wheel (13) to keep distance to obstacles that could be hit by the cutting device.
- Use the trimmer wheel (13) to cutting the grass at the edges.
Guard
The guard (11) protects the operator against thrown objects during operation. It is equipped with a knife (11b) that cuts the trimming line (12d) (Fig. 13).

Switching ON/OFF
- Hold the product with one hand at the auxiliary handle (15) and with the other at the main handle (1).
- Squeeze the on/off switch (2) to switch the product on (Fig. 14).
- Release the on/off switch (2) to switch the product off.

General Operation
- Check the product, its battery pack and charger as well as accessories for damage before each use. Do not use the product if it is damaged or shows wear.
- Double check accessories or attachments are properly fixed.
- Always hold the product by its handles. Keep the handles dry to ensure safe support.
- Ensure that the air vents are always unobstructed and clear. Clean them, if necessary, with a soft brush. Blocked air vents may lead to overheating and damage the product.
- Switch the product off immediately if you are disturbed while working by other people entering the working area. Always let the product come to complete stop before putting it down.
- Do not overwork yourself. Take regular breaks to ensure you can concentrate on the work and have full control over the product.
Trimming
- Make sure that the knife protector (11d) is removed, the trimming wheel (13) is fixed for use and the battery pack (16) is assembled before operation.
- Adjust the main handle (1) angle to 0^ for trimming.
- Hold the product firmly with a gap between the product and your right side.
- Stand upright, do not lean forward, and pay attention to posture. Keep both feet apart to help retain your balance.
- Hold the trimmer head (12) just above the ground at an angle of approximately 30^ (Fig. 15).
- Move the product with a slow regular arc from left to right before moving it back to the starting position before trimming the next area (Fig. 16).

- Ensure the cutting device remains clean and free from off-cuts that may cause it to jam. Check regularly. Release the on/off switch (2) and remove the battery pack (16) before checking.
- Trim longer grasses in stages; do not cut long grass in one cut (Fig. 17). For the best results, cut longer grass in steps (Fig. 18).

Edging
- Make sure that the knife protector (11d) is removed, the trimming wheel (13) is fixed for use and the battery pack (16) is assembled before operation.
- Adjust the main handle (1) angle to 180^ for edging (Fig. 19).
Tips
- For best results, do not cut wet grass because it tends to stick to the cutting head and guard, prevents proper discharge of grass trimmings, and could cause you to slip and fall.
- Do not allow the spool cover to drag on the ground or other surfaces.
- Pay special attention when performing the work close to trees and bushes. The cutting head could damage sensitive bark, and damage fence posts.

- Use the trimming wheel to trimming / edging position to avoid bringing the cutting device into contact with hard objects such as walls and curbstones (Figs. 20, 21).

NOTE: The trimming line will wear faster and require more replacement if cutting is done along sidewalks or other abrasive surfaces, or heavier weeds are being cut.
NOTE: While trimming, the cutting device is possible to be blocked by grass or unevenly ground. So, the product will turn off automatically due to over current. Therefore, release the on/off switch for over 3s and then press down again to go on with trimming.
Line Feeding
During use, the tip of the trimming line will get shorter due to wear and the trimming line may break. Regularly check the condition of the trimming line (12d) and adjust if necessary.
WARNING! Always switch the product off, remove the battery pack and let the product cool down before performing inspection, maintenance, and cleaning work!
NOTE: This product is equipped with an auto-feed head. Do not bump the trimmer head on the ground as this would damage the product.
Manual Feeding
- Turn trimmer head (12) upside down.
- Press the release push button (12g) while pulling on the trimming line (12d). The trimming spool (12c) will release the trimming line (Fig. 22).
- Repeat until the worn part of the trimming line (12d) exceeds the distance to the knife (11b).
- Attach the battery pack and use the product as described. Excess line will be cut by the knife (11b) and should always remain inside the radius of the guard (11).
WARNING! The trimming line will be thrown out! Danger of injury especially for bystanders!
Auto-Feeding
With the product running, release on/off switch (2) to let it stop completely. Press the on/off switch (2) to start the product.
NOTE: The trimming line will extend about 3-5 mm with each stop and start until the line reach the length of the knife. Avoid stop and start frequently as the trimming line may auto-feed unintentionally and causes waste a lot of line.
After Use
- Switch the product off, remove the battery back and let it cool down.
- Attach the knife protector (11d) if necessary.
- Check, clean and store the product as described in the Maintenance section.
Lithium Battery Care and Maintenance
Top 3 Battery Care Requirements
- Charge battery before first use. The battery may arrive with some charge, regardless of this the battery must be charged for 60 minutes on the initial charge and 60 minutes for each subsequent charge.
- Charge battery immediately when it is depleted. Do not store a depleted battery. This will permanently impact the life of the battery. If the battery is going to be stored for a period of time, fully charge the battery before storing.
- Disconnect battery when not in use. To prolong the life of a battery, disconnect it from the unit when not in use. Disconnect chargers from the battery once charged.

To ensure the battery maintains optimum performance, follow the guidelines outlined below.
• For best results, charge batteries in temperatures between 10°C and 30°C
- When battery is charged, disconnect the charger from the power supply and remove the battery from the charger.
- If a battery is stored or otherwise unused for an extended period, and the battery has no charge remaining when you check it, consider it to be damaged. Do not attempt to recharge it or to use it. Replace it with a new battery.
• Use only with the battery charger specified by the manufacturer.
- Ensure that the battery charger electrical cord is not subjected to damage or stress. Do not operate the battery charger if it has a damaged electrical cord or plug.
- Do not use the charger in wet areas or expose it to rain or water.
- The typical estimated life of a Lithium-Ion battery is about two to three years or 300 to 500 charge cycles, whichever occurs first. One charge cycle is a period of use from fully charged, to fully discharged, and fully recharged again
- Explosion hazard – protect the battery against heat, for example, direct sunlight and fire. Do not store batteries in vehicles or locations subject to heat.
- Batteries can explode in the presence of an ignition source, such as a pilot light. To reduce the risk of serious personal injury, never use any cordless product in the presence of open flame. Exploding batteries can propel debris and chemicals.
- Do not open the battery – danger of short-circuiting and/or explosion.
- Do not attempt to destroy or disassemble the battery pack or remove any of its components.
- Do not touch the battery terminals with metal objects and/or body parts as short-circuit and/or personal injury may result.
- Explosion hazard – do not open and/or short-circuit the battery.
- Poison hazard – battery leakage (liquid ejection). Under extreme conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery – avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, immediately seek medical attention, and flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, immediately seek medical attention, flush with clean water for at least 10 minutes. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.
- Dispose of non-serviceable batteries in an environmentally responsible manner and according to local regulations.
Failure to adhere to the requirements above may result in the battery becoming inoperative or battery life being reduced. In extreme cases or abuse, battery overheating or fire may result.
DANGER - BATTERY CHARGING, USE AND STORAGE
Like mobile phones, laptops, cordless vacuum cleaners etc, this product may contain or be related to a lithium ion battery pack (lithium ion batteries and lithium ion battery related items only). Lithium ion batteries allow fast charging and high capacities, however care must be taken to reduce chances of a fault, and increase safety in case a fault occurs. Catastrophic incidents involving lithium ion batteries have a tendency to result in large amounts of smoke and fire. Be sure to follow the points below to reduce the likelihood of danger whenever you use, charge or store any lithium ion battery.
- Never charge a battery that has been damaged or subjected to a forceful impact.
- Never charge a battery that has been exposed to moisture or water.
- Never charge a battery with a charger that wasn't supplied with the battery.
- Never use a battery in a device that it wasn't specifically designed for.
- Never use a battery with a modified or damaged device.
- Never modify the battery, product, charger, circuitry or wiring.
- Never charge a battery in an exit path that may be used by people to leave a room or building in case of an emergency, for example, the hallway or foyer of a residence.
- Never charge a battery in an area or building that doesn't have the recommended number of working smoke detectors that have been tested in accordance with local guidelines.
- Never charge a battery when the battery or charger is displaying a problem or charging incorrectly.
- Always charge batteries on a non-combustible surface, for example, on a concrete floor.
- Always charge batteries at least 3m away from anything combustible, such as floors, wall surfaces, furniture, storage shelves etc.
- Always charge batteries in an open area (outside if possible) ensuring the battery and charger are away from moisture and water.
- Always disconnect batteries from the charger after charging.
- Always remove or disconnect batteries from the device/product when not in use.
- Always ensure batteries are charged under adult supervision. Do not charge unattended. Do not charge batteries while no one is home or while people are sleeping.
- Keep batteries away from heat and moisture.
- Damaged batteries should be disposed of through your local e-waste collection service.
- Avoid mixing and matching chargers. Unplug products when fully charged, and charge batteries in a cool, dry place away from combustible materials like beds, lounges, or carpet.
- During charging and use, check your lithium-ion batteries for overheating, signs of swelling, leaking, or venting gas. Immediately stop using your product if these signs are present.
- Allow batteries to cool after use and before charging.
Maintenance

- Keep the product clean. Remove debris from it after each use and before storage.
- Regular and proper cleaning will help ensure safe use and prolong the life of the product.
- Inspect the product before each use for worn and damaged parts. Do not operate if you find broken and worn parts.
WARNING! Only perform repairs and maintenance work according to these instructions! All further works must be performed by a qualified specialist!
General Cleaning
- Clean the product with a damp cloth and pH-neutral soap. Use a brush for areas that are hard to reach.
- Remove stubborn dust with high pressure air (max. 3 bar).
NOTE: Do not use chemical, alkaline, abrasive or other aggressive detergents or disinfectants to clean this product as they might be harmful to its surfaces.
- Check for worn or damaged parts. Replace worn parts as necessary or contact an authorised service centre for repair before using the product again.
Guard
- Keep the guard (11) clean and free of debris. Remove trimmings.
- Replace the guard (11) with one of the same types when it is worn or shows damage.
Trimming Line
Replace the trimming spool:
Replace the line spool when it is empty or worn.
- Turn the product upside down to access the trimming line.
- Hold the trimmer head (12) steady with one hand. Press the release latches (12b) on both sides, then lift the cover (12a) and remove it (Fig. 23).
- Remove the trimming spool (12c) from the housing (12e) (Fig. 24).

- Clean the housing (12e) before inserting a new spool (12c) of the same type.
- Pull the line from the new spool for a length of approx.12 cm.
- Release the trimming line (12d) from the notches and hold it in position. Avoid the trimmer line (12d) scattered from the trimming spool (12c) (Fig. 25, Step 1).
- Lead the trimming line (12d) ending through the eyelet (12h) of the housing (12e) (Fig. 25, Step 2).
- Insert the trimming spool (12c) into the housing (12e) (Fig. 25, Step 3). Twist the trimming spool (12c) until it locks into place.
- Refit the cover (12a) and make sure it snaps into place.
Refill the trimming line in trimming spool:
- Turn the product upside down to access the trimming line.
- Hold the trimmer head (12) steady with one hand. Press the release latches (12b) on both sides to remove the cover (12a).
- Remove the trimming spool (12c) from the housing (12e).
- Discard all the remaining line (12d) from the trimming spool (12c).
- Clean the housing (12e) and the trimming spool (12c).
- Cut a new 4 m long trimming line with a spool (12c) in direction of the arrows (Fig. 26).
- Lead one end of the new trimming line (12d) through the small eyelet on the trimming spool (12c) in direction of the arrows (Fig. 26).
- Pull the trimming line (12d) and bend it over (Fig.27).

- Wind all the trimming line (12d) firmly around the spool in direction of the arrows on the trimming spool (12c) (Fig. 28).

Storage
- Switch the product off and remove the battery pack.
- Clean the product as described above.
- Remove the trimming wheel (13) to storage position if necessary.
- Store the product and its accessories in a dark, dry, frost-free, well-ventilated place.
- Always store the product in a place that is inaccessible to children. The ideal storage temperature is between 10 °C and 30 °C .
- We recommend using the original package for storage or covering the product with a suitable cloth or enclosure to protect it against dust.
Transportation
- Switch the product off and remove the battery pack.
- Attach the knife protector (11d) if necessary.
- Remove the trimming wheel (13) to storage position if necessary.
- Always carry the product by its handles (1, 15).
- Protect the product from any heavy impact or strong vibrations which may occur during transportation in vehicles.
- Secure the product to prevent it from slipping or falling over.
