Frequently Asked Questions - VK770 HYUNDAI

How do I set the desired water temperature on the Hyundai VK770 kettle?
Place the kettle on the base and ensure it is plugged in. Use the rotary controller (A1) on the handle to adjust the temperature from 40°C to 100°C in 10°C increments. The current setting appears on the LED display (A3). Press the controller button to confirm. The indicator light (A2) turns red during heating and green when the set temperature is reached, accompanied by an acoustic signal.
How do I use the keep warm function?
Set the desired temperature using the rotary controller (A1), then press and hold the button for about 2 seconds until the ‘’ symbol appears on the display and the indicator light (A2) flashes red. The kettle will heat the water to the set temperature and maintain it for 120 minutes. The light flashes red during this period, then the kettle switches off automatically.
What should I do if the kettle does not turn off after boiling?
This may indicate a malfunction of the steam sensor. The kettle is equipped with a heat safety lock that disconnects power if the sensor fails. Immediately unplug the kettle from the mains and let it cool down. Do not fill with cold water to cool it quickly. Contact an authorized service center for inspection.
How do I clean and descale the Hyundai VK770 kettle?
Unplug the kettle and let it cool completely. For decalcification, add about 50 g of citric acid and fill half with water, stir, then add water up to ¾ of max. Place on base and heat; turn off before boiling, let sit for 10 minutes, then pour out and rinse thoroughly with clean water. For regular cleaning, use a damp cloth; do not immerse in water.
What are the recommended water temperatures for different beverages?
The manual suggests: 40°C for infant formula, 50°C for baby foods, 60°C for hot beverages, 70°C for green teas, 80°C for white teas, 90°C for oolong teas, coffee, instant drinks, and soups, and 100°C for black and herbal teas. Always use fresh drinking water and check manufacturers' instructions on food packages.
Why does the display show unusual symbols?
Unusual symbols on the LED display (A3) may indicate a temporary electronic glitch. Disconnect the kettle from the mains, wait a few seconds, then reconnect. The kettle should return to normal operation. If the issue persists, contact an authorized service center.
Can I immerse the kettle or stand in water?
No! Never immerse the electric kettle or stand in water or any other liquid, even partially. This could cause electric shock or fire. Only the exterior can be wiped with a damp cloth. The filter sieve can be removed and cleaned under running water.
What is the maximum water level I should fill?
The maximum water level is 1.7 liters, indicated by the MAX mark on the water gauge (A4). Do not exceed this level to avoid hot water splashing out during boiling. The minimum level is also marked as MIN.
How do I clean the sieve filter?
Remove the sieve (A7) from the kettle. Clean it under running water using a fine brush to remove any sediment. Then reinsert the sieve in the opposite direction. This should be done regularly to ensure proper flow.
What does the heat safety lock do?
The heat safety lock is a protective feature that automatically disconnects power if the steam sensor fails, if the water boils dry, or if the kettle is turned on empty. If activated, unplug the kettle and let it cool down before refilling. This prevents damage to the heating element and reduces fire risk.

A1 – rotary temperature controller + control button * A5 – handle

A2 - control light A6 - lid

A3 – LED display A7 – filtration sieve

A4 – water gauge

B - removable stand

B1 – central connector B2 – power cord

* The control electronics ensures the appliance turns off automatically after the set temperature or boil of water has been reached.

III. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Remove all the packing material and take out the electric kettle with the stand. Remove all possible adhesion foils, stick-on labels or paper from the appliance. Before the first use, fill the electric kettle with clean water to the maximum level, turn it on and let the water boil. Then pour out the water and repeat the procedure several times (at least five times).

APPLICATIONS

Plug the fork of the power cord to the electric socket. Hold the kettle A on the handle A5. Open the lid A6. Fill the kettle with drinking water. The minimum and maximum amount of water is marked on the water gauge A4. Close the lid. Place filled kettle on the base. An acoustic signal sounds, the A3 display lights up (the current water temperature in the kettle is displayed), and the A2 indicator light turns green. Now the kettle is in a standby mode. Use the rotary control A1 to set the desired temperature between 40-100 °C (10 °C increments). Press the A1 button to confirm the temperature. The A2 indicator light will turn red to indicate that heating is in progress. When the heating is finished, an acoustic signal sounds, the temperature is displayed and the A2 signal light is green.

Please consider the following tips as examples and inspiration not intended to provide complete instructions, but just to show the possibilities of heating of various liquids. Water temperatures are only approximate and may vary according to personal taste, quantity, type, quality and age of the used tea, coffee, etc.

• 40 °C = infant formula milk,
- 50^ = baby foods
- 60^ = hot beverages,
- 70^ = green teas,
- 80^ = white teas,
- 90^ = oolong teas, coffee, instant drinks, soups,
- 100^ = black, herbal teas.

Note

If you are going to heat up water to a low temperature (40 or 50 °C), it is necessary to have at least 0.7 litre of water in the kettle to reach the preset temperature more accurately. In the case of a lower volume, the actual temperature may exceed the preset temperature.

Always use fresh drinking water for boiling. The temperature and time heating depends on the amount of water and the initial temperature of water. For the correct temperature setting, follow the manufacturers' instructions that are described on food packages (e.g. tea, coffee, instant drinks, soaps, etc.).

Temperature maintenance function

To heat and maintain the water at a given temperature, set the desired temperature using the rotary controller A1. Then press and hold the button A1 (for approx. 2 seconds). The “” symbol appears on the A3 display and the A2 indicator light flashes red. The kettle first heats the water to the desired temperature (an acoustic signal sounds) and then it maintains the temperature for approx. 120 minutes. The A2 indicator will flash red at all times. After this time, the kettle switches off automatically.

Notes

– Any press of the button or turning of the controller A1 is accompanied by an acoustic signal.
- The kettle can be stopped at any time by pressing the A1 button.
- After about 4 minutes of inactivity, the kettle will switch to power saving mode. The display and the A2 signal light go out. To return to standby mode, just press the button or turn the A1 controller.
- If the water temperature in the kettle is higher than the one you set, an acoustic signal sounds and the A3 display flashes several times (the kettle does not start heating).

  • If you use the temperature maintenance function and set a temperature lower than the water temperature in the kettle, the appliance will wait for the water to cool to the desired temperature first and then maintain it for the set time.
  • Lifting the kettle off the stand cancels all the set functions.
  • The selected water temperature may be changed during the heating process by setting it to another value.
  • If you are preparing food for very young children (e.g. to 40 or 50^ ), the water must be heated to a boil ( 100^ ) first. Wait until the water cools down and check its temperature before serving. The recommended safe temperature food for children is max. 40^ .
  • If unusual symbols appear on the display, disconnect the appliance from the mains power supply and then reconnect it.
  • Recommendation: When the kettle is not used, do not place it on the stand connected to the mains. If you are going not to use the kettle for a long time, unplug the power cord from the wall socket.

ATTENTION

  • When heating water, the lid must be closed, otherwise the kettle will not turn OFF.
  • In bigger tilting of the electric kettle backwards, particularly when it is filled up to maximum, water can flow out from the electric kettle in the bottom part of the kettle. This does not affect safety or other functions and it does not mean any failure of the electric kettle. In the case of tilting the electric kettle with hot water there is a risk of scalding. Therefore do not tilt the electric kettle.

IV. MAINTENANCE

Unplug the appliance from power supply by taking the fork of the power cord out of the socket! Clean the kettle only when it is cooled down! Do not use rough and aggressive detergents (e.g. sharp objects, scrapers, diluting agents or other solvents)! The casing of the electric kettle and the heating bottom is made of top-quality stainless steel, but in common use, impurities from water get stuck on them (water scale), particularly above the heating element. It is not rust or another material defect of the kettle container and the appliance is not subject to a complaint for this reason.

Cleaning the sieve (A7)

Take the sieve from the kettle. Clean it from possible sediments in running water using a fine brush. Then put the sieve back in the opposite way.

Cleaning the kettle

In the hard water area, it is important to do the decalcification regularly to keep the kettle in good working condition, because too much scale inside may cause the kettle fail to work. For the best performance of your kettle, decalcify the unit from time to time. The frequency depends on the hardness of your tap water and how many times you have used the kettle. Decalcification will clean the interior of the unit.

This may be done in the following manner:

Put about 50 g of citric acid into the kettle with limescale sediment. Fill the kettle half with water and stir. After dissolving, fill it up to 34 of maximum amount of water. Place the kettle on the stand and turn on. Turn off the kettle before reaching boiling point, let the solution work for 10 minutes and then pour it out. Rinse the kettle thoroughly with clean water. In case of very thick sediments, you can repeat the process. Clean the kettle regularly!
