Frequently Asked Questions - EP 110 W HYUNDAI

How do I use the cooker for the first time?
Before first use, set the thermostat to maximum and run the cooker for about 10 minutes to burn off the protective coating. Ensure the room is well ventilated, as some smoke may occur. Then let it cool, wipe with a damp cloth, and it is ready.
What should I do if the cooker does not heat up?
Check that the power cord is firmly plugged into a working outlet. Also verify the thermostat knob is not in the OFF position (setting 0). If still not working, contact a qualified service technician.
Can children use this cooker?
Children aged 8 years and above can use the cooker if supervised and instructed on safe use. Children younger than 8 years must be kept away from the appliance and its cord. Children should not perform cleaning or maintenance without supervision.
How should I clean the hot plate?
Always unplug the cooker and allow it to cool completely. Wipe the exterior and interior with a damp cloth, then dry with a soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or immerse any part in water.
What type of cookware should I use?
Use pots and pans with flat, ground bottoms of the same diameter as the hot plate (185 mm) or up to 2 cm larger. Uneven bottoms reduce heat transfer efficiency and increase cooking time.
Why does the indicator light turn on and off?
The indicator light cycles on and off to show that the thermostat is maintaining the selected temperature. When the light goes off, the plate has reached the set temperature; it will turn on again when heating is needed.
What are the temperature settings for?
Setting 1: keep warm, melt fat, defrost. Settings 2-3: keep food boiling, stew. Settings 4-5: roasting, deep-fat frying. Setting 5 (max): bring food to a boil quickly.
Is it safe to leave the cooker unattended?
No. The product must never be operated unattended due to fire risk. Always unplug when not in use or before cleaning.
Can I use the cooker outdoors?
No. The cooker is designed for indoor use only. Do not expose to rain, moisture, or wet environments to avoid electric shock.
What should I do if the power cord is damaged?
If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or a similarly qualified person to avoid hazard. Do not use the appliance until repaired.

III. PREPARATION AND USE

1) First check that the voltage marked on the product is the same as your supply voltage.
2) Select a suitable position close to an electric socket, on a dry and flat surface.
3) Make sure (that) the control button is turned to the setting. Plug in the appliance.
4) There is an invisible protective coating applied on the hot plates as part of the manufacturing process. This protective coating must be removed before you can use the appliance for the first time. In order to do this, set the control button to the maximum setting and leave the cooker switched on for approximately 10 minutes. Make sure that the room is properly ventilated, as some smoke can occur. This is not a cause for concern; it is the process by which the protective coating is removed. Switch the hot plate and let it cool down completely, the appliance is now ready for use.
5) Switch ON the plate by the control button and select the temperature. The hot plate has a range of various temperature levels. The light will go off when the hot plate reaches the selected temperature and it will turn on and off cyclically to maintain the same temperature.
6) Due to the hot plate's construction, some residual heat will remain after switching off the appliance. This may be used to keep food warm for a short period of time after it has been cooked. After use, turn temperature dial to bed and unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet.

Caution

For cooking, use pots and pans with flat (ground) bottom of the same diameter as that of the ring or bigger by no more than 2 centimetres. Uneven pot bottom tends to compromise the transfer of heat from the ring into the pot, causing higher power demand and longer cooking times.

— We recommend using personal protective aids (e.g. kitchen glove) when handling.
— When using the grill, occasional characteristic sound (cracking) may be heard due to dilatation of materials. This is absolutely normal and the appliance is not subject to a complaint for this reason.
— Pets (e.g. exotic birds) can be sensitive to smells/odours produced during preparation of food. For this reason we recommend preparation of food in another room.
