How do I clean the rice cooker?

Unplug and let the cooker cool. Wash the inner pot and glass lid with warm soapy water, rinse, and dry. Wipe the outer body with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the body in water.

How much rice can I cook at once?

The maximum capacity is 1.5 kg of raw rice, corresponding to a volume of 1.8 L. Do not exceed the maximum fill line inside the pot.

Can I use metal utensils?

No, always use plastic or wooden utensils to avoid damaging the non-stick coating.

Why does the cooker switch to keep-warm automatically?

Once the rice is cooked, the cooker automatically switches from cooking to keep-warm mode to maintain serving temperature. The orange warming light will illuminate.

How can I prevent rice from sticking?

Rinse the rice thoroughly until the water runs clear to remove excess starch. After cooking, let it stand for 10-15 minutes, then fluff with the provided spoon.

Can I cook other foods besides rice?

The appliance is designed primarily for cooking rice. Using it for other purposes may not yield optimal results and could damage the cooker. Refer to the manual for any specific recommendations.

What should I do if the cooker does not heat?

Ensure the power cord is properly plugged in and the control lever is pushed down. Check that the inner pot is correctly inserted and the lid is closed. If the issue persists, contact a qualified service technician.

Is the inner pot dishwasher safe?

The manual does not recommend washing parts in the dishwasher. Aggressive detergents and high heat may damage the non-stick surface. Hand wash is advised.

How do I measure rice and water correctly?

Use the supplied plastic measuring cup. The inner pot has fill lines corresponding to the number of cups. For example, 4 cups of raw rice require water up to the 4-4 1/2 line. Adjust according to the type of rice or package instructions.

What does the control lever do?

Pushing the lever down starts the cooking cycle. After cooking, it automatically pops up to the keep-warm position. Do not manually force it back to cooking during keep-warm.

1. Odoberte pokrievku a ryžu premiešajte priloženou servírovacou lyžicou, aby ryža zostala l'ahká a kyprá. Nádobu znovu uzavrite a pred podávaním nechajte ryžu stát 10 až 15 minút. Prebytočná vlhkost sa za tento čas absorbuje a ryža bude nadýchaná.

6. Do not allow the cord to touch hot surfaces or lead the cord over sharp edges.

7. Always use the appliance on an even, stable surface to prevent overturning it. Do not use the appliance in sinks, on drip draining places or other uneven surfaces.

8. Do not put the appliance in places where it could be exposed to high temperatures from stoves, radiators, gas appliances, etc.

9. Do not place the appliance on top of electrical or gas stoves and ovens.

10. Contact with hot surface may cause burns. When you handle parts of the appliance when in operation, use suitable utensils and oven mitts.

11. If you do not use the appliance, switch it off and unplug it from power. Before you dismantle the product for cleaning, let all the parts of the appliance cool off. Disconnect the power cord by pulling on the plug – never yank the cable.

12. Never plug the rice cooker in, or switch it on without the cooking vessel inserted correctly into the cooker.

13. Do not fill the body of the rice cooker with liquid. Only the cooking vessel is designed for liquids.

14. ATTENTION: Lift the glass lid carefully, and tilt it in such a way that the steam is escaping away from you to prevent scalding. Do not let the water from the lid drip into the body of the cooker, it can drip only into the cooking vessel.

15. Do not use damaged or broken cooking vessel. Replace it before using.

16. Do not use the appliance for any other purpose than it is designed for.

17. Do not use outside.

18. The appliance should not be left unattended when in operation.

19. Store the appliance inside in a dry place.

20. The appliance does not contain any parts repairable by the user. Do not try to repair or modify the appliance by yourself.

21. Let the appliance cool down before cleaning and storing it.

22. Do not place other objects on the appliance and prevent inserting of foreign objects, do not use close to drapes, etc.

23. Attention: When in use, the cooker heats up and the steam is escaping through the openings in the lid. Do not cover any openings. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use holders and controls.

24. The use of accessories not recommended by the manufacturer may endanger persons or property.

25. This appliance is designed for domestic use only.

26. This appliance can be used by children ages 8 and older and by the physically and mentally impaired or by individuals with insufficient experience and knowledge, if supervised or trained to use the appliance in a safe manner and understand potential dangers. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and maintenance operations performed by the user shall not be carried out by children, if they are not older than 8 years and under supervision. Children under the age of 8 shall keep away from the appliance and its power supply. Children shall not play with the appliance.

INSTRUCTIONS

Before first use

• Carefully unpack the rice cooker and remove all the packaging material and promotional stickers.
• Wash the cooking vessel and lid in warm, soapy water, rinse and dry.
• Wipe the body of the cooker with moist cloth or sponge.

Attention:

• Never immerse the body of the cooker and the power cord in liquids.
• Cook in the removable vessel only to prevent risk of electric shock.

Rice cooking

1. Place the cooker on a dry, fl at surface.
2. Rinse the rice before cooking under running water to remove free starch. The rice is ready for cooking when the water runs clear.
3. Using the supplied measuring cup, measure out the desired amount of rice. Always measure the amount as even, do not overfill the measuring cup.
4. Before inserting the inner container in stainless steel body of the cooker, make sure that its outer surface is clean and dry. This ensures perfect contact of the inner and outer container.
5. Clean the bottom of the cooking vessel and the cooking area before cooking. Turn the vessel inside the cooker left and right to make sure it sits straight in the cooking area. The vessel has to sit properly in the cooker, otherwise the appliance will not work properly and might be damaged.
6. Make sure that the cooking vessel sits straight in the body of the cooker and put in the rinsed rice. Make sure that the rice is spread evenly over the bottom of the container and does not adhere to the walls, as shown.

1. Depending on the amount of rice fill up with water up to the appropriate fill line. There are marked lines in the container, indicating the level of water according to the amount of rice. Never fill over the maximum fill line marked on the container.

When cooking a smaller amount than 4 cups of rice, fill with water according to the instruction on the rice package.

1. Cover the vessel with glass lid.
2. Plug the power cord in the 230/240 V outlet and switch on. The orange light "Heating" comes on.
3. Start cooking by pushing the control lever down. The red light "Cooking" comes on.

NOTE: In any given time only one light is lit, orange for warming, red for cooking. Always stir the rice once, in the middle of the cooking time.

1. When the rice is cooked, the cooker automatically switches to "Heating" and the orange light comes on. The cooker is now in automatic, heat maintaining mode.

DO NOT LEAVE THE COOKER IN THE WARMING MODE LONGER THAN 3 HOURS

1. Remove the lid and stir the rice using the supplied serving spoon to keep the rice light and fluffy. Close the vessel again and let it stand 10 to 15 minutes before serving. Excess moisture is absorbed during this time and the rice is fl uff y.

ALWAYS RAISE THE LID AWAY FROM YOU SO THAT THE STEAM IS DIRECTED AWAY FROM YOU AND DOES NOT SCALD YOU

1. After use, switch the cooker off and unplug it.

NOTE:

- You will switch off the automatic heating cycle by unplugging the cooker from the outlet.

- Do not manipulate the control lever during operation.

IMPORTANT

• Never plug the cooker in without inserted cooking vessel.
• Never push the control lever without inserted cooking vessel.
- When plugging the cooker in, have always ready some water or be ready to add oil or butter quickly.
- Do not pour water in the body of the cooker, it may cause short circuit. You can put liquids only in the inner cooking container. Prevent rice or other foods from falling into the body of the cooker.
- When the lever switches automatically to the "Heating" position, do not try to return it to "Cooking" position.
• Always use plastic or wooden utensils for the cooking vessel, otherwise you can scratch it.
- Alaways make sure that the container is properly inserted into the cooker and gently push it in, otherwise you can damage the product. This ensures good contact of the surface of the cooker and of the vessel and achieves the best performance.
- Do not use damaged or deformed vessel, it would not fit properly in the cooker.

Tips for cooking rice

• Rice is a valuable source of complex carbohydrates containing natural starch. We recommend that you rinse the rice using cold potable water until it runs clear. This prevents the browning of rice and its sticking to the bottom part of the vessel, however, it may also cause loss of some rice nutrients.
• When you add more water, the rice becomes fluffier, when you remove water the rice becomes tougher.
• Some types of rice need more water, for example wild rice, Arborio rice of short grain rice. Therefore always adjust the recipe as needed. Proceed according to the instructions on the package of rice.
• When cooking in a larger amount of water the inside of the lid may be splashed by water drops with starch. To achieve the best results, rinse the rice before cooking and let it stand for 20 minutes after finishing cooking to absorb the excess water.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

After each use

• After use, switch the cooker off and unplug it.
- Before dismantling and cleaning, let all the parts cool off.
- Wash the cooking vessel and lid in warm, soapy water, rinse and dry.
- We do not recommend washing parts of the cooker in the dishwasher, aggressive agents and hot water can cause stains and other damage to parts of the cooker.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners, steel wool or wire brushes and abrasive sponges, the non-stick surface could be damaged.
- Do not immerse the body of the cooker in water or any other liquids.
- You can wipe the stainless steel body of the cooker with wet cloth and then dry it off.
