Frequently Asked Questions - VP 3161 S ECG

How do I empty the dust container?
Press the release button on the dust container and pull it out. Hold it over a trash bin, open the bottom flap by pressing the latch, and empty. Close the flap securely before reinserting.
How often should I clean the HEPA filter?
The HEPA filter should be cleaned every 3-4 months or when the suction power decreases. Tap it gently or wash with cold water and let it dry completely for 24 hours before reuse.
What can I do if the vacuum loses suction?
Check if the dust container is full, the filter is clogged, or the hose/nozzle is blocked. Clean the filter and remove any obstructions from the accessories.
Is the vacuum suitable for pet hair?
Yes, the VP 3161 S is effective for pet hair thanks to its strong suction and included brush tools. Regular cleaning of the filter is recommended for optimal performance.
Can I use the vacuum without a bag?
This model is bagless. It uses a transparent dust container that you empty directly, so no bags are needed.
How do I change the exhaust filter?
Access the exhaust filter cover at the back of the vacuum. Remove the old filter and insert a new one of the same type (HEPA H13). Replace the cover securely.
What is the noise level of this vacuum?
The noise level is approximately 78 dB(A), which is typical for a cylinder vacuum cleaner. It may vary depending on the surface and power setting.
How do I clean the crevice tool?
The crevice tool can be wiped with a damp cloth. If it gets blocked, use a thin object like a wire to remove any debris from the narrow opening.
The vacuum overheats and shuts off – why?
This is a safety feature. The vacuum may overheat if the filter is clogged, the dust container is full, or the hose is blocked. Turn off the vacuum, unplug it, and let it cool for 30 minutes before addressing the issue.
Where can I find replacement parts?
Replacement filters and accessories are available at authorized ECG service centers or online. Use only genuine parts to ensure compatibility and safety.

Power control

You can set the suction power of the appliance by using the motor power control located on the body of the vacuum cleaner. For cleaning fine materials we recommend that you set the minimum power. For mattresses, upholstered furniture and carpets set medium power. When cleaning paved, wooden or other hard floors, use the maximum power.

After use

Turn off the vacuum cleaner and unplug the power cord from the outlet. Before you add any accessories or before cleaning the appliance, always turn the vacuum cleaner off and unplug it from the outlet.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

You will find instructions in this manual for routine maintenance of the vacuum cleaner. To ensure long life and service of the vacuum cleaner without problems, check regularly the hose, the dust bag and filters of the vacuum cleaner. Remove dirt from clogged hose, replace full dust bags and clean dirty motor filter.

Replacement dust bags and fi Iters

The dust bag and the motor filter are very important for optimum efficiency of the vacuum cleaner. The purpose of the dust bag is to capture dirt, but in the same time it has to be sufficiently porous to let air through. If the dust bag or the filter is clogged, which is indicated by the full bag indicator ⑧, the air cannot flow through the vacuum cleaner and it becomes ineffective, regardless of how much power the motor has. In order for the vacuum cleaner to work with maximum effectiveness, replace the dust bag regularly and clean the motor filter when necessary. Some fine particles can very quickly reduce the airflow and reduce the suction power already before the dust bag seems full. Therefore when vacuuming the residue of carpet cleaner, powder, dust from plaster and similar fine materials you should replace the dust bag more often.

CHANGING DUST BAG

- Before opening the cover, the vacuum cleaner has to be unplugged and the hose has to be disconnected from the vacuum cleaner!

• Never use the vacuum cleaner without the inserted dust bag and filter!

  1. After unplugging it and disconnecting the hose, you open the cover of the dust bag by pressing the lock upward and opening the cover.

  2. Take the holder of the dust bag by its handle and remove it together with the dust bag from the vacuum cleaner.

  3. Return the holder with the bag in the dust bag space, taking care that the holder is properly inserted in the guides in front of the dust bag space.

  4. Close the dust bag cover and secure it by a gentle push.

  1. After unplugging, open the cover of the dust bag by pressing the lock upward and opening the cover.

  2. Remove the motor filter and if it is very dirty, rinse it with warm water.

  3. Before you insert the filter back in the vacuum cleaner let dry thoroughly.

  1. Turn off power and unplug the power cord from the outlet.
  2. Open the output grid ⓆS in the back of the vacuum cleaner.
  3. After opening the grid you will see the output fi Iter.
