1. Risk of electrical shock

System requirements
4x free U.2 port (SFF-8643) on your host computer, 4x U.2 cable (SFF-8643 to SFF-8643). Other U.2 ports on the motherboard with PCIe 3.0 x4 support, e.g. Slimline SAS (SFF-8654), Oculink (SFF-8611), can be used with the appropriate cables or adapters. If a PCIe expansion card with 4x Mini SAS HD (SFF-8643) port is used, the motherboard must support PCIe x4x4x4x4 model! The host on the motherboard must support the HotPlug function to support the HotSwap function of the U.2 SSD!

Hardware installation
- Turn OFF the PC and any other connected peripheral devices.
- Unplug the power cable from the back of the PC and remove the cover of your PC.
- Remove the panel from the available 5.25" bay.
- Insert the Backplane into the bay and fix it with 2 screws on each side.

Connect the four Mini SAS HD host connectors of the housing to your U.2 connectors on your mainboard or PCIe adapter cards.

Connect a SATA 15 pin power cable to the SATA power connector on the back of the housing.

- Replace the PC cover and reconnect the power cable of the PC.
- The backplane is now ready for use.
Note: A new SSD must first be initialized, partitioned and formatted in the operating system in order to be recognized and displayed by the system.
Drive installation
Attention! The host must support the HotPlug function to support the HotSwap function for the U.2 SSD. If your motherboard does not support the HotPlug function, you must first install the SSD and then turn on the computer. Otherwise, the SSD will not be recognized.
- If the door is locked, use the key to unlock. Press the latch to release the door handle.
- Slide the tray out of the housing and insert the SSD into the tray gently.
