The KDC-MP155U radio won't turn on - what should I do?
Frequently Asked Questions - 4 j
Response Notice-Facile

If your KENWOOD KDC-MP155U car radio does not turn on, here are the checks to perform:

Check the power supply

  • Voltage: The device requires a 12 V DC power supply (acceptable range 11-16 V). Check that the vehicle's power cable is delivering the current (maximum 10 A).
  • Vehicle fuse: Check that the car radio fuse in the vehicle's fuse box is not blown.
  • Connections: Ensure that all power cables are securely connected and properly insulated.

Clean the contacts

The KDC-MP155U front panel is removable with a cleanable connector. Remove the front panel, clean the connector as well as the power contacts with a dry cloth to eliminate any dust or oxidation that could block the electrical contact.

Reset the device

Check that the DEMO mode is not activated (it should be in the OFF position). Press the source button (⏻ SRC) to check that the device responds. If nothing happens, the problem is likely related to the power supply.

If the problem persists

If after these checks the device still does not turn on, the problem is most likely electrical (vehicle wiring, fuse, weak battery, or insufficient power supply). Consult an automotive electrician or contact KENWOOD customer service.
