Frequently Asked Questions - RH01-E-1 Cotech

How do I set the cost per kWh on the Cotech RH01-E-1?
Press the SET button until the cost display flashes. Use the + and - buttons to adjust the tariff. Press SET again to confirm. The meter will then calculate cost based on this rate.
What do the symbols on the LCD display mean?
The display shows: W (watts), V (voltage), A (current), Hz (frequency), PF (power factor), kWh (total energy), Cost (total cost), and Time (elapsed time). Icons indicate overload, backlight, and data hold.
How do I reset the accumulated energy reading?
Press and hold the RESET button for 3 seconds until the display shows '0.00'. Note that this clears all stored data including total cost and time.
Can the device measure standby power accurately?
Yes, the meter can measure power down to 0.5 W. However, for very low loads (< 0.5W), accuracy may decrease.
Is it safe to use the energy meter with a power strip or extension cord?
Yes, as long as the total load does not exceed the meter's rated maximum current of 16 A (3680 W). Avoid daisy-chaining multiple strips.
How do I change the display backlight timeout?
The backlight automatically turns off after 30 seconds to save power. This setting cannot be adjusted.
What is the accuracy of the power measurement?
The device has an accuracy of ±(1% of reading + 2 digits) for power and energy measurements.
Can I use this meter in a 110V system?
No, the Cotech RH01-E-1 is designed for 230 V AC (50 Hz) systems only. Using it on 110V may damage the meter or give inaccurate readings.
What does the overload warning indicate?
The overload symbol (usually 'OVERLOAD' or a warning triangle) lights up when the load exceeds 3680 W. Disconnect the appliance immediately to avoid damage.
How do I clean the device?
Unplug the meter and wipe it with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use water, solvents, or abrasive cleaners.
