What is the ion effect and how does it benefit my hair?

The ion effect negatively charges air molecules, breaking water into smaller droplets for faster drying. This reduces drying time, minimizes heat damage, smooths the hair cuticle, reduces frizz, adds shine, and protects against UV rays.

Can I use this hairdryer in the bathroom?

No, never use the hairdryer near water, such as bathtubs, showers, or sinks. Even if switched off, there is a hazard. Always disconnect the plug after use and consider installing a residual current device (RCD) with a rating of ≤30 mA.

How do I clean the air intake mesh?

Disconnect the plug and let the hairdryer cool completely. Turn the mesh and cap counterclockwise by about 20° to remove. Clean with a small brush, then replace by turning clockwise until it locks.

What are the different heat and speed settings?

The hairdryer has two 3-level switches: ventilation (low, high, cool) and heat (low, high, cool). Combinations allow for cold air at low or high speed, and various heat/speed mixes. The Cool-Shot button provides a burst of cool air.

What accessories are included and how do I use them?

Included are a styling nozzle (rotatable for directed airflow) and a 'Finger' diffuser for gentle drying, ideal for permed or curly hair. Remove the nozzle to attach the diffuser.

Why does the hairdryer sometimes shut off during use?

All activities on and with this appliance may only be carried out to the extent that they are described in the operating instructions. If you should pass on the ionic Hairdryer, please include the operating instructions.

Packaging

For protection from damage during transport, your ionic Hairdryer is contained in packaging.

Packaging is a raw materials and can therefore be reused or submitted for recycling.

GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Only connect the hairdryer to a socket with mains voltage of 220-240V \~ 50Hz, which has been installed in accordance with regulations.

This appliance fulfils the CE regulations and complies with Directives 2006/95/EC and 2004/108/EC.

• In case of malfunction, prior to cleaning and if the appliance is not in use, always disconnect the mains plug!
• Never pull on the mains cable!

Never submerse the appliance in water and do not expose it to rain or other moisture!

• If the appliance should nevertheless fall into water, only remove it from the water, once the mains plug has been disconnected!
  • Afterwards, to no operate the appliance again until it has been examined by an authorised service centre. This also applies, if the mains cable or the appliance have been damaged, or if the hairdryer has fallen.
• Please ensure that the mains cable and the appliance are never placed on hot surfaces or near heat sources. Lay the mains cable, such that it does not come into contact with hot or sharp-edged items.
• Do not use the hairdryer, if you are situated on a damp floor, or if your hands or the appliance are wet.
• Do not bend the mains cable and do not wrap it around the appliance.
• Do not leave the appliance unattended during operation!
• Repairs are only permitted to be carried out by authorised customer service centres. Therefore, never attempt to open the appliance, or e.g. reach inside the appliance with metal objects.
• If the appliance is not used as intended or is incorrectly operated, no liability can be assumed for resulting losses!

GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

• Do not operate the appliance outdoors, as it would be exposed to rain or other moisture!
• Electrical appliances are not toys! Therefore, use and keep the appliance out of the reach of children. Do not let the mains cable hang down.
• In the case of damage to the mains cable, this must only be replaced by a workshop specified by the manufacturer (see guarantee card), in order to avoid hazards.

• Do not use the appliance, if the casing or mains cable is damaged, or if the appliance no longer functions properly.
• Keep these operating instructions safe and include them, if the appliance should be passed on.
• Only place the hairdryer on firm and heat-resistant surfaces.

SPECIAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE USE OF HAIRDRYERS

- Never use the appliance in or near bathtubs, showers, sinks or other water containers. There is also a hazard with a switched off device, therefore, always disconnect the mains plug after use!

• The installation of a residual current circuit breaker with nominal tripping current of not more than 30 mA in the house installation offers additional protection. Please contact your electrician.
• Do not use the appliance when barefoot.
• Do not cover the removable air intake mesh (hair filter) during operation, clean it from time to time. With restricted air intake, the hairdryer will be switched off by the installed overheating protection. In this case, please set the ventilation level switch to the „0” position and disconnect the mains plug. Allow the appliance to cool off for approx. 10 minutes before operating it again.
• Do not use the hairdryer for wigs or hairpieces made of synthetic material.
• Do not spray any hairspray when the appliance is switched on. There is a risk of fire and explosion.
  • Always switch the hairdryer off, when you put it down.
• Only use the appliance for drying and styling your hair, never for other purposes.
  • The hairdryer is exclusively intended for drying human hair!

THE ION EFFECT

Molecules that are contained in the sucked in air are negatively charged in the ionic hair-dryer (ionised) and transported to the hair with the „heated air”. The negative ions have an effect on the hair, which causes the water drops to break down into smaller units and therefore dry more quickly.

■ less drying out of hair due to shortened drying time
■ Reduced damage due to extremely curtailed heat effect

A second and significant effect is that the hair can absorb the tiny water drops better, in contrast to normal water drops.

This absorption results in the scaly structure of the hair being smoothed. The following positive effects result from the smoothed surface structure:

■ Hair becomes smoother, softer and more supple
■ Hair receives new shine
■ Hair is easier to brush and style
■ Hair is less likely to be frizzy, break and knot.
■ Hair is better protected from UV rays

The absorption of moisture additionally has the following effects:

■ Revival of the hair structure
■ Reduction of static charge

The negatively charged ions in the heated air impact the water drops on the head. The negative charge of the ions results in the ion links in the water drops being broken up and the water being broken down into smaller units.

THE ION EFFECT

The „dry” hair is comparable to dried clay soil and has a rough and scaly surface. Only the finely vaporised moisture is in a position of being able to permeate the hair and smooth and close the surface.

USE OF THE HAIRDRYER

The hairdryer is equipped with two 3-level switches with the following switch positions:

Ventilation level switch 9" + Heat level switch."

For fast hair drying, it is recommended to first use the appliance for a few minutes on a high ventilation and heating level, in order to then switch down to the lower level and shape the desired style.

In order to firm up curls/waves, use one of the two cool air levels/the „Cool-Shot" button (cool level button), as required. Keep the "Cool-Shot" button (cool level button) pressed down during use.

USE OF THE HAIRDRYER

NOTE:

For technical reasons, slightly warm air escapes with both of the cool air levels and when using the „Cool-Shot“ button (cool level button).

With the accompanying styling nozzle, which can be rotated to any position, you can use the airflow in a targeted manner for styling.

Before combing out your hair, allow it to cool first, so that your style will retain its shape.

Your hairdryer also includes a „Finger“ diffuser (air shower).

This will enable you to dry your hair particularly carefully, e.g. with permed hair. Also with so-called „air-dried" perms, the use of the diffuser is highly recommended, as you virtually obtain the effect of air drying.

For this, remove the styling nozzle from the appliance in order to then attach the diffuser. Now, you can begin/continue to dry your hair.

Allow the hairdryer to cool off completely before storing it away.

Disconnect the mains plug after each use.

CLEANING

First allow the appliance to cool off completely.

Ensure that no liquid enters the inside of the appliance.

Clean the air intake mesh (hair filter) at regular intervals using a small brush, in order to remove dust and hair. In order to remove the mesh, turn the mesh and the cap carefully counter-clockwise by approx. 20^ and pull the mesh off toward the back. After cleaning, replace the mesh and turn the cap carefully clockwise until it locks in place.

DISPOSAL

Once the appliance has served its time, please dispose of it properly. Disconnect the mains plug from the socket and cut the mains cable. Submit the appliance to a collection centre for electrical and electronics waste. Do not throw it into household waste.

Also dispose of the packaging material properly and in an environmentally sound manner. These are raw materials and can be recycled.

Find out about the currently valid disposal regulations and the opening hours of the collection centres at your local authority.
