How do I assemble the BISSELL CleanView Essential 20095?

Slide the upper handle onto the lower base and secure with two long screws. Attach the hose/cable racks with short screws. Wrap the hose and cord around the racks. Attach tools to their storage locations. A Phillips-head screwdriver is required.

How do I fill the 2-in-1 water tank?

Remove the tank using the carry handle. Pull up on the latch to remove the lid. Lift the bladder fill cover labeled 'Fill Here'. Add warm tap water (max 60°C) to the water fill line. Add BISSELL formula using the measuring cup. Close the cover, replace lid, and seat the tank firmly on the machine.

How do I clean carpets with this machine?

Plug into an outlet. Set the Ready Tools Dial to 'Floor Cleaning'. Turn on using the red power pedal. Recline the machine by pressing the gray pedal. Press the Spray Trigger while making one slow forward and backward pass. Release trigger and make a dry pass to suction up solution. Repeat until water appears clean.

Can I use this cleaner on hard floors?

Yes, attach the included Bare Floor Tool to the bottom of the machine. Use BISSELL Wash & Shine formula (44 mL per liter of water). The machine is safe for sealed hardwood, linoleum, vinyl, ceramic tile, granite, and marble.

How do I use the Ready Tools for upholstery or stairs?

Set the Ready Tools Dial to 'Tools'. Attach a cleaning tool to the hose. Hold the tool 2.5 cm above the surface, press Spray Trigger to apply solution, release, then pull toward you to suction dirt. Do not overwet. Rinse tools after use.

Why is there no spray coming from the machine?

Possible causes: empty bladder, tank not seated properly, pump lost prime, or broken pump belt. Check refill bladder, reseat tank, turn off for 1 minute then on, or visit support.BISSELL.com for belt replacement.

The DirtLifter PowerBrush is not turning. What should I do?

Turn off and unplug. Check for a broken or off brush belt or pump belt. Visit support.BISSELL.com for belt replacement instructions.

How do I clean and maintain the machine after use?

Empty the dirty water tank and rinse it. Clean the lint screen under the tank. Use the HydroRinse Tool to flush the hose: attach it, set dial to Tools, turn on, and hold trigger for 30 seconds with hose upright. Remove and rinse the nozzle if needed.

How should I store the BISSELL CleanView Essential?

Store in a protected, dry area (closet or basement) where freezing will not occur, as freezing damages internal components. Keep the machine upright and wrap the cord and hose securely around the racks.

What is the warranty coverage?

1. Slide Upper Handle onto lower base and secure with two long screws (taped to Upper Handle) into marked holes.

2. Attach upper hose/cable rack to the back of the handle by inserting hook into the slot and pressing up until it's seated flush with the back of the machine. Use 1 short screw to secure the bottom of the rack to the machine.

3. Attach lower hose/cable rack by inserting the hook into the slot and pressing up until it's seated flush with the back of the machine. Use 2 short screws to secure the bottom hose/cable rack.

1. Wrap hose around both hose/cable racks. Secure it by inserting the trigger hose grip into opening on the grip holder on the upper hose/cable rack.

2. Wrap cable around lower and upper hose/cable racks. Secure plug to cable with clip on plug.

3. Attach included tools to the appropriate storage locations on the machine.

Chemical spot cleaners or solvent-based soil removers should not be used. These products may react with the plastic materials used in your carpet washer causing cracking or pitting.

Filling the 2-in-1 Water Tank

Note: Fill with warm (140°F/60°C MAX) tap water and add the appropriate BISSELL® formula. Do not use boiling water. Do not heat water or tank in microwave.

1. Use Tank Carry Handle to remove tank from the machine and bring it to the sink.	2. Pull up on the bottom edge of the latch on the tank to remove the lid.	3. Pull up on bladder fill cover that says “Fill Here”.

4. Fill tank with hand hot (60°C/140°F MAX) tap water to the water fill line. Do not boil or microwave water as it can destroy the tank.	5. Fill the provided measuring cup with formula to the fill line and pour into the bladder.Optional: Add 60ml of OXY Boost per 3.7L of water and carpet cleaning formula solution. For optimal results, use 74ml (1 capful) per 3.7L of water and carpet cleaning formula solution. The CleanViewTM Essential has a 3.7L Tank.	6. Push down on bladder fill cover to close.

7. Replace the tank lid and latch.	8. Place tank into machine base and seat firmly into place.

ATTENTION

» Take care not to run over loose objects or edges of area rugs. Stalling the brush may result in premature belt failure.
» Some Berber carpets have a tendency to fuzz with wear. Repeated strokes in the same area with an ordinary vacuum or deep cleaner may aggravate this condition.

Using the Ready Tools

Your carpet and upholstery cleaner comes equipped with a hose and at least one cleaning tool for cleaning stairs, upholstery and more. Find more tools at BISSELL.com.

Tips

»Check for colourfastness in an inconspicuous place before cleaning larger area.

»If possible, check upholstery stuffing. Coloured stuffing may bleed through fabric when wet.

»Vacuum thoroughly to pick up loose debris and pet hair.

»Check manufacturer's tag before cleaning. Do not use on velvet or silk. If manufacturer's tag is missing or not coded, check with your furniture dealer.

1. Set Ready Tools dial to TOOLS setting. This will allow spray and suction from hose.	2. Attach cleaning tool of your choice to end of hose.	3. Hold tool about 2.5 cm above soiled surface. Press Spray Trigger to apply cleaning solution. Release trigger, apply downward pressure, and pull toward you to suction up dirt and cleaning solution. Do not overwet.

4. When finished cleaning, remove and rinse tool(s) and hose in clean, running water.	5. Before wrapping the hose, lift and stretch the hose to make sure water is cleared. Wrap hose around rack.

The Bare Floor Tool easily attaches to the bottom of your machine for use on hard floor surfaces. Safe for use on virtually all sealed hard floor surfaces including sealed hardwood, linoleum, vinyl, ceramic tile, granite & marble.

1. Lay the machine flat on the ground to access the bottom of the foot.

2. Attach the hooks on the Bare Floor Tool to machine base and rotate the Bare Floor Tool to click to the front of the cleaning nozzle.

3. Fill the 2-in-1 Water Tank with 44mL of Wash & Shine Formula for each Liter of water added. The CleanView™ Essential has a 3.7L Tank.

Emptying the 2-in-1 Water Tank

1. Turn machine OFF and remove the 2-in-1 Water Tank from the machine. Carry tank to a sink or outside to dispose of dirty water.	2. Pull up on the bottom edge of the latch on the tank to remove the lid.	3. Empty dirty water from back corner of tank.

1. Rinse the tank with running, hand hot (60°C/140°F MAX) tap water, taking care to clean underneath and around heavy duty bladder.

2. After each use, remove any debris trapped in red lint screen on base of machine while tank is still removed.

3. Return 2-in-1 Water Tank to machine.

Cleaning with the HydroRinse™ Tool

1. Attach the HyrdoRinse tool to the hose. Turn the ready tools dial to tools and turn the machine ON.

2. Hold the hose and tool in an upright position. Hold down the trigger to rinse the hose for 30 seconds.

After-Cleaning Care (continued)

Cleaning the Removable Nozzle

1. Grab the sides of the top of the nozzle and pull forward.	2. Rinse nozzle under running water.	3. When finished, replace nozzle by slightly raising front of machine to line up slots on each side of the base with hooks the nozzle. Push forward to click nozzle into place.

Cleaning the Ready Tools Dial

If Ready Tools Dial is hard to turn, the diverter assembly that holds it may need to be cleaned.

1. Remove the front nozzle.	2. Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the screws that hold the assembly in place. Set them aside.	3. Remove assembly.

4. Hold assembly under running water. Make sure water flows through and around the dial. Turn the dial about 10 times each way to clear debris.	5. Replace assembly and screw.	6. Replace the front nozzle.

Keep machine in a protected, dry area, like a closet or basement. Because it uses water, this machine should not be kept where there's a danger of freezing. Freezing will damage internal components and void the guarantee.

Troubleshooting

Reduced spray OR no spray	Bladder may be empty. Push power pedal OFF; refill bladder with clean, hand hot (60°F/140°C MAX) tap water and formula.
	2-in-1 Water Tank may not be seated properly.	Push power pedal off; remove and reseat tank.
	Pump may have lost prime. Push power pedal off; after 1 minute turn ON and press Spray Trigger.
	Pump belt may be broken. Push power pedal off and unplug from outlet. Visit support.BISSELL.com for belt replacement instructions.
DirtLifter PowerBrush does not turn	Brush belt or pump belt is off or broken.	Push power pedal off and unplug from outlet. Visit support.BISSELL.com for belt replacement instructions.
Machine not picking up solution	Ready Tools Dial may be on wrong setting for cleaning job.	Set Ready Tools dial to either FLOOR CLEANING or TOOLS Setting.
	Poor tool position (handheld attachments only).	Adjust angle; apply more downward pressure.
	Removable Nozzle may not be properly attached.	Make sure nozzle is on correctly by slightly raising front of machine to line up slots on each side of base of machine with hooks on each side of nozzle. Attach at base first and then click nozzle into place. Refer to image 6 on page 9.
	2-in-1 Water Tank lid is not properly installed.	Re-install lid.
	2-in-1 Water Tank is not properly seated.	Tank must be firmly seated to function; remove and reseat.
	2-in-1 Water Tank has picked up maximum dirty water.	Empty 2-in-1 tank and refill.
	The lint screen may be clogged.	Clean out lint screen.
