Frequently Asked Questions - 10027875 Klarstein

What should I do if my cooker emits smoke or odor during first use?
This is normal. The protective coating on the plates heats up for the first time. Ensure good ventilation and let it run empty for a few minutes. The odor will disappear after a few uses.
Can I use glass or ceramic pots on this cooker?
Yes, provided the bottom is perfectly flat and in good contact with the plate. Avoid convex or rough bottoms for efficient and even cooking.
How to clean the cooker properly?
Unplug the appliance and wait for it to cool completely. Clean with a soft damp cloth and mild detergent. Never use abrasive products, metal sponges, or alcohol. Never immerse the appliance in water.
The plate turns off and on during cooking, is this normal?
Yes, it's the safety thermostat regulating temperature to prevent overheating. This may occur especially before boiling. The appliance is functioning normally.
What electrical power should I plan for?
For the two-plate model, total power is 2400 W (1200 W per plate). Plug into a suitable socket, avoid extension cords, and do not plug other powerful devices into the same outlet.
Can I leave the cooker on unattended?
No, never leave the appliance running unattended, especially near children. The safety thermostat does not replace constant vigilance.
What types of cookware are recommended?
Use pans and pots with a flat bottom, preferably steel, cast iron, or enamel. The ideal diameter is 18 to 22 cm. Fill to a maximum of 80% to avoid overflow.
What to do if the cooker does not heat?
First check that the knob is in a position other than OFF, that the socket works, and that the cable is not damaged. If the problem persists, contact a qualified professional.
Can I repair the appliance myself?
No, repairs must be carried out by an authorized professional. Do not attempt to open or modify the appliance, as this poses a risk of electric shock.
How to dispose of my cooker at the end of its life?
Do not dispose of it with household waste. Follow the European directive WEEE (2002/96/EC): take it to a collection point for electrical and electronic waste.
