Lift the locking latch to secure the base. Slide the drip tray into place, attach the lid handle, and place the lid on the grill.
How long should I preheat the grill before cooking?
Preheat the grill for approximately 10 minutes with the lid on. The indicator light will cycle on and off once the set temperature is reached.
Can I use metal utensils on the nonstick grill plate?
No, always use heatproof plastic, nylon, or wooden utensils to avoid scratching the nonstick surface. Never use metal skewers, tongs, forks, or knives.
Is the grill plate dishwasher safe?
No, do not wash the grill plate in a dishwasher. Wash it by hand with hot soapy water and a plastic scouring pad, then rinse and dry thoroughly.
Why does my food look steamed instead of having grill marks?
This usually happens if the grill was not fully preheated. Always preheat for at least 10 minutes before cooking to ensure proper searing.
How do I clean the temperature control probe?
Do not immerse the probe in water or any liquid. Wipe it with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly. The probe receptacle must be completely dry before use.

For chicken breast halves, set the temperature control to 4 and grill for 15-25 minutes, turning halfway. The internal temperature should reach 170°F for safety.
How do I remove white spots from the grill plate?
White spots are usually caused by dried water after cleaning. Dry the grill plate immediately after washing to prevent them. If they appear, wipe with a damp cloth.
What is covered under the three-year warranty?
The warranty covers any defect in material or workmanship for three years from the original purchase date with proof. It does not cover commercial use, misuse, or damage from abuse. Replacement is with a new or factory refurbished product.

HINTS FOR GRILLING

• Use tender cuts of meat for grilling.
• Marinate tougher cuts of meat to tenderize before grilling.
• To avoid drying out meat and fish, turn only once and do not pierce.
- To turn meat and fish, use a large flat plastic or wooden spatula to support food while turning.
- For roasting, place meat or chicken to be roasted in a shallow baking pan. Do not cover pan with a lid or foil. Using oven mitts, carefully place pan on preheated grill, taking care not to scratch nonstick surface. Place lid on grill.

Note: Just resting a baking container on top of nonstick grill surface will not damage it.

• Use only plastic or wooden utensils on nonstick surface.

Caution: Grill surfaces are hot during use. Allow grill, grease tray, lid and grill base to cool completely before handling and cleaning.

USING INDOORS

To use your grill indoors, simply lift grill base off pedestal tube and place on a heat-resistant surface.

Important: Never use grill without the grill base in place.

Caution: Some countertop finishes are more affected by heat than others; make sure countertop surface can withstand temperatures of 150^ F to prevent discoloration or other damage to countertop surface.

Tip: Boneless cuts of meat will grill more evenly and will not scratch nonstick surface.
