What does error code P1 mean?

The P1 code indicates that the base pan is full of water. The unit will beep and stop cooling/dehumidifying. Drain the water by removing the lower drain plug or connecting a drain hose. After draining, restart the unit.

How do I clean the air filters?

Turn off and unplug the unit. Slide out the upper air filter (see figure 4 in manual). Wash with lukewarm water (approx. 40°C) and mild detergent. Rinse and dry in a shady place before reinserting. Clean every two weeks.

What is the SLEEP mode and how does it work?

SLEEP mode gradually increases the set temperature by 1°C after 30 minutes, then another 1°C after 60 minutes, maintaining that temperature for 7 hours. It then returns to the original setting and exits SLEEP mode. This saves energy while you sleep.

Can I use the air conditioner without the exhaust hose?

In COOL mode, the exhaust hose must be installed to expel hot air. In FAN or DRY mode, the hose can be removed for better efficiency. For DRY mode, a drain hose must be connected.

How do I change the temperature display from Celsius to Fahrenheit?

On the control panel, hold the UP (+) and DOWN (-) buttons simultaneously for three seconds. The display will switch between °C and °F.

What should I do if the remote control stops working?

First, check that nothing is blocking the signal (curtains, doors). Replace the batteries (two AA) with fresh ones, ensuring correct polarity. If still not working, point the remote directly at the unit within 8 meters. Avoid exposing the IR receiver to direct sunlight.

How do I set the timer to turn on/off automatically?

Use the TIMER ON button to set an automatic start time, and TIMER OFF for an automatic stop. Press the button repeatedly to adjust in 30-minute increments up to 10 hours, then 1-hour increments up to 24 hours. The setting will activate after a few seconds.

What type of refrigerant does the Canvac Q Air A810 use?

Is the unit maintenance-free for long-term storage?

Why does the air conditioner not start after turning off?

The unit has a three-minute protective delay to prevent compressor damage. Wait three minutes before restarting. If it still doesn't start, check for error codes like P1 (full water tray) or E1/E2 sensor errors. Unplug and replug to reset.

1. LUFTFILTER

This manual offers many good tips on the optimum use and maintenance of your air conditioner. A little preventive maintenance by the user can save a lot of time and money throughout the air conditioner's service life. The troubleshooting guide gives solutions to most common problems. If you start by looking at the troubleshooting guide, you may not have to ring a service engineer at all.

WARNING!

• Children must not play with the product.
- If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, the manufacturer's service representative or a similarly qualified person. This is to prevent the possibility of danger.
- The unit must be installed in accordance with national installation regulations. Do not use the air conditioner in wet areas such as bathrooms or laundry rooms.
- For repair or "non-simple" maintenance of this unit, contact an authorised service technician.

RECYCLING

This product contains a R410A type refrigerant. For safe handling, see the R410A safety data sheet. When the product has reached the end of its service life, it must not be treated as household waste. The product contains valuable materials that can be reused. Thus, when the unit is to be scrapped, it should go to a recycling facility. If you are buying a replacement product, the old one can be left with the new supplier. Alternatively, it can be taken to a local authority recycling centre for electronic products. Waste must not be tipped indiscriminately. Hazardous substances can leak into the ground water and eventually work their way into the food chain.

LONG-TERM STORAGE

If you are not going to use the air conditioner for a long time:

• Wait one day (so that the machine has drained entirely) before emptying the tank.
• Clean the case and the filters.
• Cover the unit with a plastic bag or other protective covering.
• Store standing up in a dry, well-ventilated space.

SAFETY RULES

To prevent injury (to the user and others) as well as damage, the following instructions must be followed. Faulty use through failure to follow the instructions can cause damage.

ALWAYS DO THE FOLLOWING

• The air conditioner must be used in such a way that it is protected from moisture (e.g. condensation, splashes, etc.). Do not place or store the air conditioner where it can fall or be pulled into water or any other liquid. If such a fall does occur, disconnect the power supply immediately.
• Always carry the air conditioner vertically and, when in use, stand it on a stable and even surface.
• Switch off the product when it is not in use.
• Always contact a qualified person for repairs. If the power cable is damaged, it must be repaired by a qualified service engineer.
• Ensure that there is always at least 30 cm of free space around the entire unit (i.e. clear of walls, furniture, curtains, etc.).
• If the air conditioner should topple over during use, switch off the unit and disconnect the power supply immediately.

• Do not use the air conditioner in wet areas such as bathrooms or laundry rooms.
• Never use anything other than your fingers to press the buttons on the control panel.
• Do not remove any fixed covers.
• Never use the unit if it is not working correctly or if it has been dropped or damaged.

- Never use the plug for starting and stopping the unit.

• Always use the switch on the control panel.

- Do not cover the inlet and outlet grilles and do not impede the flow through these.

- Do not use hazardous chemicals to clean the unit and do not let such substances get inside it.

- Do not use the unit in the presence of combustible substances or vapours from alcohol, insecticides, petrol, etc.

- Do not let children use the unit unsupervised.

- Do not use this product for purposes other than those described in this user manual.

SAVE ENERGY

• Place the unit where the air flow is not impeded by furniture.
• Keep blinds/curtains closed during the sunniest part of the day.
• Keep the filters clean.

THE CONTROL PANEL'S FUNCTIONS

Before starting, familiarise yourself thoroughly with the control panel, the remote control and all their functions. Press the symbols for the functions you want to use. The unit can be controlled via the control panel or the remote control.

THE AIR CONDITIONER'S CONTROL PANEL

1. MODE

Selects the desired operating mode. Each press of the button switches the operating mode in the order, COOL, FAN and DRY. An indication light shines under each selected operating mode. The fan is controlled automatically. To change fan speed (COOL and FAN modes), use the remote control.

2. The UP (+) and DOWN (-) buttons

Used to adjust (increase/decrease) the temperature setting in 1°C steps in the range 17°C to 30°C.

Important! The control panel shows the temperature in degrees Celsius. To change to Fahrenheit, hold the UP and DOWN buttons down simultaneously for three seconds.

3. Light

Shows that the power supply is on.

4. Liquid crystal display (LCD)

Shows the set temperature in °C (COOL operating mode). In FAN and DRY modes, it shows room temperature.

5. Light

Shows that the TIMER mode has been set. Can be controlled from the remote control only.

6. POWER SWITCH

ON/OFF.

COOL mode

• Press the MODE button repeatedly until the COOL light comes on.
• Press the + or - button and select the desired room temperature. The temperature can be set in the range 17°C to 30°C.
• If you want to change fan speed, press the FAN button on the remote control.

DRY mode

• Press the MODE button repeatedly until the DRY light comes on. Fan speed cannot be changed in this mode.
• Do not run the exhaust hose through a window.
• For best dehumidifying results, windows and doors should be closed.

FAN mode

• Press the MODE button repeatedly until the FAN light comes on. The temperature cannot be adjusted in this mode.
• If you want to change fan speed, press the FAN button on the remote control. The temperature cannot be adjusted in this mode.
• Do not run the exhaust hose through a window.

ERROR CODES AND PROTECTION CODES

E1 – Room temperature sensor error. Pull out the mains plug and put it back in again. If the fault persists, ring a service engineer.
E2 – Evaporation temperature sensor error. Pull out the mains plug and put it back in again. If the fault persists, ring a service engineer.
E4 – Communication with display error. Pull out the mains plug and put it back in again. If the fault persists, ring a service engineer.
P1 – Base pan full. Connect the drain hose and drain the water from the base pan. If the warning persists, ring a service engineer.

AUTOMATIC RESTART

If, owing to a power outage, there is an unplanned stop of the unit, it will, when power returns, restart with its previous settings.

THREE-MINUTE PROTECTIVE STOP

When the unit has stopped, it cannot restart for three minutes. This is to protect the unit. Operation restarts automatically after three minutes.

Adjusting AIR FLOW DIRECTION

Air flow direction is adjusted manually. See figure on the left.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE REMOTE CONTROL

CHANGING BATTERIES

The remote control requires two AA batteries. These are in the back of the remote control and are protected by a lid.

(1) Remove the lid by pressing and sliding it off.
(2) Take out the old batteries and put in new ones.
Ensure that the poles (+ and -) are correctly positioned.
(3) Refit the lid by sliding it back into place.

Important! Removing the batteries from the remote control deletes all programming. When new batteries have been fitted, the remote control must be reprogrammed.

Battery condition is shown on the remote control's display.

WARNING!

• The air conditioner cannot be controlled by the remote control if the signal from this to the unit is blocked by curtains, doors or any other object. Range, 8 m.
• Prevent water coming into contact with the remote control. Do not expose the remote control to direct sunlight or heat.
• Exposing the IR receiver on the air conditioner to direct sunlight can impair its function. Use curtains to prevent sunlight hitting the IR receiver.
• If other electrical appliances are affected by the remote control, move these appliances or contact your retailer.

WARNING!

• Do not mix old and new batteries or batteries of different types.
• Do not leave batteries in the remote control if this is not to be used for a long time.
• Dispose of old batteries in the special boxes provided in, for example, supermarkets.

FUNCTION BUTTONS

1. ON/OFF

The unit starts when this button is pressed and stops when it is pressed again.

2. TEMP ▼

Press this part of the button to decrease the set indoor temperature in 1 °C steps down to 17°C.

TEMP

Press this part of the button to increase the set indoor temperature in 1°C steps up to 30°C.

Important! In FAN mode, you cannot select temperature.

3. MODE

Each press of the button switches the operating mode in the following order:

4. FAN SPEED

Used to select fan speed in four steps:

Important! In AUTO and DRY modes, you cannot select fan speed. This unit does not have MED mode

5. SLEEP

Select this function before sleeping. It maintains a comfortable temperature and saves energy. This function is available in COOL and AUTO modes.

Important! SLEEP mode switches off if the ON/OFF, FAN, SLEEP or MODE button is pressed.

6. SHORT CUT

Use this button to save your favourite setting.

To save a current setting, hold the button down for 2 seconds.

Pressing this button when the air conditioner is running sets the unit to your saved setting.

7. TIMER ON

Press this button to activate Auto start. Each press increases the time setting in 30-minute steps up to 10 hours and, thereafter, in 1-hour steps up to 24 hours. To cancel the Auto start function, press the button until the set time is 0.0.

8. TIMER OFF

Press this button to activate Auto stop. Each press increases the time setting in 30-minute steps up to 10 hours and, thereafter, in 1-hour steps up to 24 hours. To cancel the Auto stop function, press the button until the set time is 0.0.

9. Liquid crystal display (LCD)

Press this button to turn off the air conditioner's display. Press again to turn the display back on.

10. FOLLOW ME

Press this button to lock all current settings. Use it when you want to prevent settings being changed by mistake. To unlock the remote control, press FOLLOW ME again.

HOW TO USE THE BUTTONS

AUTO MODE (AUTO)

Ensure that the unit is plugged in and that the power is switched on. The air conditioner in operation light comes on.

1. Press the MODE button and select Auto.
2. Press the TEMP button and select the desired temperature. The temperature can be set in the range 17 °C to 30 °C in steps of 1 °C.
3. Press the ON/OFF button to start the air conditioner.

IMPORTANT!

1. In Auto mode, the air conditioner itself determines the mode to be used – cooling (COOL), fan ventilation (FAN) or dehumidifying (DRY). It does this by measuring the difference between the ambient temperature and the temperature set via the remote control.
2. In Auto mode, fan speed cannot be selected. This is controlled automatically.
3. If Auto mode does not provide a comfortable environment, set the air conditioner manually.

COOL MODE (COOL)

Ensure that the unit is plugged in and that the power is switched on. Press the MODE button and select COOL.

1. Press the TEMP button and select the desired temperature. The temperature can be set in the range 17^ C to 30^ C in steps of 1^ C.
2. Press the FAN button to select fan speed in four steps: Auto, Low, Medium or High.
3. Press the ON/OFF button to start the air conditioner.

FAN MODE (FAN)

Ensure that the unit is plugged in and that the power is switched on.

1. Press the MODE button and select FAN.
2. Press the FAN button to select fan speed in steps: Auto, Low or High.
3. Press the ON/OFF button to start the air conditioner.

DEHUMIDIFYING (DRY)

(Requires drain hose ^* .)

Ensure that the unit is plugged in and that the power is switched on. The air conditioner in operation light comes on.

1. Press the MODE button and select DRY.
2. Press the TEMP button and select the desired temperature. The temperature can be set in the range 17 °C to 30 °C in steps of 1 °C.
3. Press the ON/OFF button to start the air conditioner.

Important! In DRY mode, fan speed cannot be selected. This is controlled automatically.

TIMER FUNCTION

Press the TIMER ON button and set a time for Auto start. Press the TIMER OFF button and set a time for Auto stop.

1. Press the TIMER ON button. On the LCD, the remote control shows TIMER ON, the most recent Auto start setting and the letter "h". The Auto start time can now be set to start the air conditioner.
2. Press the TIMER ON button again and set the desired Auto start time. Each press increases the time setting in 30-minute steps up to 10 hours and, thereafter, in 1-hour steps up to 24 hours.

After setting TIMER ON, there is a half second delay before the remote control sends the signal to the air conditioner. Then, after around a further 2 seconds, the letter "h" disappears and the set temperature is once again shown on the display.

SETTING THE AUTO STOP TIME

1. Press the TIMER OFF button. On the LCD, the remote control shows TIMER OFF, the most recent Auto stop setting and the letter "h". The Auto stop time can now be set to stop the air conditioner.
2. Press the TIMER OFF button again and set the desired Auto stop time. Each press increases the time setting in 30-minute steps up to 10 hours and, thereafter, in 1-hour steps up to 24 hours.

After setting TIMER OFF, there is a half second delay before the remote control sends the signal to the air conditioner. Then, after around a further 2 seconds, the letter "h" disappears and the set temperature is once again shown on the display.

SLEEP FUNCTION

Pressing this button (1) increases the room temperature by 1 °C for 30 minutes. Thereafter, the temperature increases a further 1 °C for another 30 minutes. This new temperature will be maintained for 7 hours before the originally selected temperature is restored. The SLEEP function then stops and the unit continues to work as originally programmed. Important! The SLEEP function cannot be selected in FAN or DRY modes. When the unit is in SLEEP mode, pressing the MODE, FAN SPEED, SLEEP or ON/OFF button deactivates this mode.

EXAMPLE TIMER SETTINGS

TIMER ON (Auto start)

The TIMER ON function is useful when, for example, you want the unit to start automatically a short while before you get home from work. The air conditioner starts working automatically at the set time.

Example

To start the air conditioner in six hours.

1. Press the TIMER ON button. The most recent start time setting and the letter "h" are shown on the display.
2. Press the TIMER ON button again until 6.0 h is shown above TIMER ON on the remote control.
3. Wait around three seconds and the display once again shows the temperature. The function has been activated.

TIMER OFF (Auto stop)

The TIMER OFF function is useful when, for example, you want the unit to stop automatically after you have gone to bed. The air conditioner stops automatically at the set time.

Example

To stop the air conditioner in 10 hours.

1. Press the TIMER OFF button. The most recent stop time setting and the letter "h" are shown on the display.
2. Press the TIMER OFF button again until 10 h is shown above TIMER OFF on the remote control.
3. Wait around three seconds and the display once again shows the temperature. The function has been activated.

Combined times (simultaneous setting of times for both start and stop)

TIMER OFF/TIMER ON (On/Stop/Start mode). This function is useful when, for example, you want the air conditioner to stop in the evening and start again in the morning.

This function is useful when, for example, you want the air conditioner to start before you wake and stop when you leave the house.

To start the air conditioner two hours after setting and stop five hours after setting.

1. Press the TIMER ON button.
2. Press the TIMER ON button again until 2.0 h is shown above TIMER ON on the remote control.
3. Press the TIMER OFF button.
4. Press the TIMER OFF button again until 5.0 h is shown above TIMER OFF on the remote control.
5. Wait until the remote control's temperature setting is shown.

WARNING!

The timer setting (TIMER ON or TIMER OFF) that is first after the set time is activated first.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

LOCATION

• To minimise noise and vibration, the air conditioner should stand on a stable surface. For safe and reliable operation, stand the air conditioner on a flat and even floor that is strong enough to carry the unit.
• To facilitate moving, the unit has wheels. However, it should only be wheeled on smooth flat surfaces. Be careful when wheeling the unit across carpets and similar. Do not try to wheel the unit over objects.
• The unit must be located near an adequately rated, earthed power outlet.
• Never place obstacles around the unit's air inlets or outlets.
• For efficient air conditioning, leave at least 30 cm of free space between the unit and any walls.

EXHAUST HOSE INSTALLATION

The exhaust hose must be fitted or removed in accordance with how the unit is being used.

COOL Fit
FAN, DRY Remove

1. Fit adapter B to the exhaust hose.
2. Push the exhaust hose securely onto the air conditioner's air exhaust. Ordinarily, the hose is led out via a window, which is then closed as much as possible. Important! The hose must be routed as directly as possible with no unnecessary bends.

THROUGH-WALL INSTALLATION

For best cooling, the air exhaust should be connected, via adapter A, to a hole in a wall. See figure 1.

INSTALLATION USING THE WINDOW SLIDER KIT

Important! The supplied window slider kit is designed to fit "international" sliding windows. It is not suitable for "Scandinavian" windows.

WATER DRAINING

When dehumidifying, remove the upper drain plug from the back of the unit and fit the drain hose (see figure 2). Place the unconnected end of the hose directly above a drain (e.g. in a basement floor). See figure 2.

When the water level in the base pan reaches a predetermined level, the unit beeps eight times and the display shows "P1". The air conditioning/dehumidifying process stops immediately. The fan motor, however, continues to run (this is normal). Carefully move the unit to a drain, remove the lower drain plug and let the water run out (figure 3). Refit the lower drain plug, start the unit and let it run until the "P1" symbol goes out.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

IMPORTANT!

1) Be sure to pull out the mains plug before cleaning or maintenance.
2) Do not use petrol, thinners or other chemicals to clean the unit.
3) Do not wash the unit directly under a tap or using a hose. This can give rise to hazardous electrical conditions.
4) If the power cable is damaged, it must be repaired by the manufacturer or an authorised workshop.

Slide the upper filter out in the direction of the arrow (figure 4).

Wash the air filters by carefully dipping them in water (around 40°C with a mild detergent). Rinse the filters and dry in a shady place.

- Fitting

After cleaning, remount air filter as shown in figure 5.

2. The unit's exterior

- To clean the unit's exterior, use a lint-free cloth soaked in a mild detergent. Dry with a clean, dry cloth.

3. If the unit is not to be used for a long time

• Remove the upper drain plug (A in figure 5) from the back of the unit, fit the drain hose and drain the water container. Place the unconnected end of the hose directly above a drain (e.g. in a basement floor).
• Remove the lower drain plug (B in figure 5) and let all the water in the base pan run out.
• To dry out the unit' interior and prevent mould forming, let the unit run in FAN mode for half a day in a warm room.
• Turn the unit off, pull out the plug, coil the power cable and secure it like this with tape. Remove the batteries from the remote control.
• Clean and refit the air filters.

TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS

PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSES APPROPRIATE ACTIONS
The unit does not start when you press the ON/OFF button.	- P1 is shown on the display.- Room temperature is lower than the set temperature (COOL mode).	- Drain the water from the base pan.- Reset the temperature.
Not cool enough. - The exhaust hose is not connected or is blocked.- The set temperature is too high.- An air filter is blocked by dust.		- Drain the water from the base pan.- Reset the temperature.
Noise or vibration. - The surface is not sufficiently even or flat.		If possible, stand the unit on a flat and even surface.
Gurgling noises. - The noise is caused by the refrigerant flowing inside the air conditioner.		This is normal.
