Frequently Asked Questions - MOP-27 MPM

How do I use the toaster for the first time?
Before first use, unplug the toaster and wipe the heating plates with a damp cloth. Dry thoroughly. Then plug in, close the lid, and let it heat until the green light turns on. Oil the plates lightly with butter or margarine, then place sandwiches and close the lid.
Can I use metal utensils with the toaster?
No, do not use metal or sharp utensils as they may damage the non-stick coating. Use wooden or plastic spatulas to remove sandwiches.
Why do the indicator lights turn on and off during use?
The red light indicates power is on. The green light is the thermostat light; it turns on when the toaster reaches the set temperature and cycles on and off to maintain that temperature during cooking.
How should I clean the toaster?
Always unplug and let the toaster cool completely. Wipe the heating plates and exterior with a soft damp cloth. For stubborn residues, pour a little oil on the plates and clean after 5 minutes. Never immerse the toaster in water.
Can I toast other foods besides sandwiches?
The toaster is designed specifically for sandwiches. Using it for other foods may cause damage or uneven cooking. It is recommended to use it only for its intended purpose.
What type of bread is best for sandwiches?
Standard sliced bread works best. Avoid bread that is too thick or too thin to ensure even toasting and proper closure of the lid.
Is the toaster safe to leave unattended?
No, never leave the toaster unattended while in use. Bread can burn, posing a fire hazard. Also, keep it away from curtains and flammable materials.
Why is steam escaping from the sides?
Steam is normal as moisture from the bread evaporates during toasting. Be careful when opening the lid to avoid burns from the hot steam.
Can children use this toaster?
This appliance is not intended for use by children under 8 years. Children should be supervised and not perform cleaning or maintenance. Keep the toaster out of reach of young children.
What should I do if the toaster does not heat up?
First, check that it is plugged in properly and the red power light is on. If not, try a different outlet. If the green light never comes on, the thermostat may be faulty. Contact an authorized service center for repair.
