USER MANUAL TKG IK 1002 KALORIK

Please read these instructions carefully before using the appliance, and always follow the safety and operating instructions.

Important: People (including children) who are not able to use the appliance in a safe way, due to their physical, sensorial or mental capacity or their lack of experience or knowledge, must never use the appliance except if they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or if they previously received instructions concerning the safe use of the appliance. Close supervision is necessary to prevent children from using the appliance as a toy.

USE

THIS APPLIANCE IS SUITED FOR INDOOR USE ONLY, BUT IT CANNOT BE USED IN A BARN, STABLE, COWSHED OR ANY OTHER SIMILAR PLACE.

• This appliance eliminates flying insects such as mosquitoes, flies...
- The ultraviolet light attracts the insects and when they touch the high voltage electrode, they are killed instantly and they fall into the collecting tray situated at the bottom of the appliance.
• Hang the appliance by its hook and make sure that it is out of the reach of children.
- The best spots are generally the darkest areas of the room.
- Do not place the appliance in an area that is too brightly lit as it would lose some of its efficiency.
• The recommended installation height is between 1.5 and 3 metres.
• To put the appliance into service, you just need to plug it in.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  • Before attempting any cleaning operation, make sure the appliance is unplugged from the supply socket and fully cooled down.
    • To clean the exterior surfaces, simply wipe over with a soft cloth.
  • Never use abrasive products.
  • On no account must the appliance be immersed in water or any other liquid.
  • Unscrew the collecting tray situated under the appliance and remove the dead insects. Avoid touching the internal grid with your fingers.
  • Put the collecting tray back in place correctly.
    • We recommend cleaning/emptying the appliance regularly (every 4-5 uses).

REPLACEMENT OF THE ULTRAVIOLET LAMP

  • The ultraviolet lamp has to be replaced with a lamp with the same characteristics and if possible this has to be done by a competent qualified electrician.
    • Always unplug the appliance and let it cool down before replacing the lamp.
  • If you want to replace the lamp yourself, remove the collecting tray (cf. « CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE »), then take off the protection plate by unscrewing the 2 small screws at the bottom of the appliance. Disconnect the 2 cables of the lamp carefully and pull out the lamp. Install the new lamp (ATTENTION: CHECK THE CHARACTERISTICS FIRST). To do so, you have to make sure that the 2 shafts (connectors) of the lamp enter into the 2 holes situated in the bottom of the appliance. Reconnect the 2 cables of the lamp, screw back the protection plate and put the collecting tray back in place.
  • If your appliance does not function when you have replaced the lamp, disassemble the appliance again and check if the lamp has been connected correctly.
