How to install the paper roll?
Remove the printer compartment cover, lift the roll holder, place the roll on the holder, insert the paper end into the rear slot while holding down the 2 key until it comes out.
How to replace the ink ribbon?
Turn off the calculator, remove the printer cover, lift the ends of the old ribbon to remove it, install the new ribbon (red band at the bottom) until it clicks, then replace the cover.
How to set the number of decimals?
Use the DECIMAL switch to choose between F (floating), 0, 2, 3, 4 or 6 decimals. For example, position 2 gives 2 decimals.
How to clear an input error?
If you have not yet pressed an operation key, press CE. If you have already pressed an operation key, press the opposite operation key (e.g., + to cancel -).
How to use the memory function?
Press M+ to add the displayed number to memory, M- to subtract it, MS to display memory without clearing it, MT to display and clear memory.
How to set a tax rate?
Set the TAX switch to SET, enter the rate (e.g., 15), then set TAX to CALC. The rate is stored. Use TAX+ to add tax, TAX- to subtract tax.
How to print without paper?
It is not recommended to use the printer without paper. To avoid damaging the printer, set the PRINTER switch to OFF if you are not using paper.
How to calculate a profit margin?
Enter the cost, press GPM, enter the profit percentage (or loss with +/-), then press %. The selling price and the profit or loss amount are displayed.
What to do in case of error or overflow?
The calculator displays ERROR. Press C to clear the error. Memory is only cleared if the error occurred in a memory calculation.
How to change the print mode?
Use the PRINTER switch: ON to print and display, OFF to display without printing, IC to enable printer and item counter, GT to accumulate a grand total.

Installing the Paper Roll

  1. Remove the printer compartment cover.
  2. Lift the paper holder so that it extends behind the printer compartment.
  3. Remove any packing materials from the printer compartment.
  4. Replace the printer compartment cover.
  5. Plug the calculator into an electrical outlet.
  6. Set the power switch on the right side of the calculator to on () .
  7. Place the paper roll on the paper holder.
  8. Insert the end of the paper into the paper slot on the back of the calculator as shown. To avoid paper jams, use quality bond paper.

  1. While feeding the paper into the slot, press and hold

Note To prevent damaging the printer (which may void the warranty), move the PRINTER switch to OFF when operating the calculator without paper.

Replacing the 2-Colour Ink Ribbon

  1. Remove the paper roll and press to run out any remaining paper.
  2. Set the power switch on the right side of the calculator to off (O).
  3. Remove the printer compartment cover.
  4. Lift each ribbon spool until the ribbon is clear of the printer.
  5. Lower the new ribbon (red side on the bottom) into the compartment and press down until it snaps into place.

  6. Place the ribbon around the guides and along the print drum as shown here.

Using Decimals (DECIMAL Switch)

  • Lets you add and subtract numbers without entering the decimal point (key in 5321 to enter 53.21).
    F The number of decimal places varies based on the result. 0,2,3,4,6 Sets the number of decimal places to 0,2,3,4,or 6.

Rounding (ROUND Switch)

Results are rounded down (if DECIMAL = 1, 2.39 rounds to 2.3).
5/4 Results are rounded up or down, depending on the value and decimal setting (if DECIMAL = 2, 2.349 rounds to 2.35).
Results are rounded up (if DECIMAL = 1, 2.33 rounds to 2.4).

Entering a Tax Rate (TAX Switch)

SET Let's you enter a tax rate to perform tax calculations.
CALC Stores the tax rate.

Printing (PRINTER Switch)

OFF Calculations are displayed but not printed.
ON Calculations are displayed and printed.
IC Both the printer and item counter are active. To clear the item counter, press × / T or [MT].
GT Accumulates a running grand total of all calculations you perform until you clear the grand total. To print a grand total, press [GT]. To clear the grand total, press [GT] again.

Positive entries and results are printed in black; negative entries and results are printed in red.

Clearing Errors and Overflows

Correcting Entry Errors

If you have not pressed an operation key:

  • To clear an incorrect entry, press CE. You can then enter the correct value and continue with your calculation.
    To clear the last digit, press

If you have pressed an operation key:
- To cancel an incorrect entry, press the opposite operation key. This applies only to calculations involving + , - , ± , or .

Error and Overflow Conditions and Indicators

If you divide by zero or calculate a selling price using a margin of 100% , an error occurs. The calculator prints ERROR 0.* and displays E and 0.

An overflow occurs if you calculate a result with too many digits for the calculator to display or print. When this occurs, the calculator:

  • Displays E and the first 12 digits of the result with a decimal point 11 places to the left of its correct position.
  • Prints ERROR and the first 12 digits of the result with the decimal shifted 11 places to the left of its correct position.

To clear an error or overflow, press [C]. The memory is not cleared unless the error or overflow occurred in a memory calculation.

Using Memory Operations
