IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Read this instruction manual carefully before using the appliance. It contains important information for your safety as well as operating and maintenance advice.

1. Observe all safety instructions to avoid damage through improper use!
2. Keep this instruction manual for future use. Should this appliance be passed on to a third party, then this instruction manual must be included.
3. No liability will be accepted for damage resulting from improper use or non-compliance with these instructions.
4. This appliance is only suitable for private household use and it is not designed for commercial purpose.
5. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance.
6. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 years and supervised.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

1. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.

2. Never use a damaged appliance! Disconnect the appliance from the electrical outlet and contact your supplier if it is damaged.

3. Danger of electric shock! Do not attempt to repair the appliance yourself. In case of malfunction, repairs are to be conducted by qualified personnel only.

4. WARNING: Do not use this appliance near bathtubs, showers, basins or other vessels containing water. Even when switched off, if the power plug is still connected, keep the appliance away from water or other liquids.

5. When the appliance is used in a bathroom, unplug it after every use as the proximity of water presents a hazard even when the appliance is switched off.

6. Warning! To protect against electric shock, do not immerse the electrical parts of the appliance in water or other liquids. Never hold the appliance under running water.

7. Regularly check the power plug and power cord for damage. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

8. Never use accessories which are not recommended by the manufacturer. They could pose a safety risk to the user and might damage the appliance. Only use original parts and accessories.

9. Before connecting the appliance to the power supply, check that the power supply voltage and current rating corresponds with the power supply details shown on the appliance rating label.

10. To avoid damaging the cord, do not squeeze, bend or chafe it on sharp edges. Keep it away from hot surfaces and open flames as well.

11. Do not operate the appliance with wet hands or while Standing on a wet floor. Do not touch the power plug with wet hands.

12. Do not open the appliance casing under any circumstances. Do not insert any foreign objects into the inside of the casing.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

1. Keep the appliance away from any hot surfaces and open flames. Protect the appliance against heat and cold, dust, direct sunlight, moisture, dripping and splashing water.
2. For additional protection, the installation of a residual current device (RCD) having a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30 mA is advisable in the electrical circuit supplying the bathroom. Ask your installer for advice.
3. Do not pull the power plug out of the electrical outlet by the power cord, only by the power plug, and do not wrap the power cord around the appliance.
4. Connect the power plug to an easily reachable electrical outlet so that in case of an emergency the appliance can be unplugged immediately. Pull the power plug out of the electrical outlet to completely switch off the appliance. Use the power plug as the disconnection device.
5. Disconnect the power plug from the electrical outlet when not in use and before cleaning.
6. Always turn the appliance off before disconnecting the power plug.
7. Should the appliance fall into water, unplug the power plug first before reaching into the water.
8. Danger to life! Make sure that no objects like hair clips or hair pins are inserted into the appliance. These can cause a short-circuit.
9. Do not use the appliance barefoot.
10. Do not leave the appliance unattended, if it is in use or the power plug is connected to an electrical outlet.
11. Always switch off the appliance, if you put it down during use.

12. Danger of burns! Parts of the appliance become very hot during use. Hold the appliance by its handle only.

13. During use, do not use hair spray, water vaporizers or other vaporizers close to the appliance. Only use them when the appliance is switched off and the power plug is disconnected.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

1. Do not use the appliance if you are sleepy or if there is a possibility that you will fall asleep.
2. The appliance switches off automatically, if it is overheating. Disconnect the appliance from the power source and let it cool completely. Before using the appliance again, check if the air intake or air outlet openings are blocked by lint, hair or other objects.
3. Let the appliance cool completely before removing or attaching parts.
4. Make sure that hot air is not directed at eyes or other heat sensitive parts of the body.
5. During use, ensure that hair cannot be sucked into the air intake.
6. Do not cover the air intake and air outlet during use. Keep them free from lint and hair.

INTENDED USE

• This appliance is only intended for drying and styling of hair in private households. It is not to be used for drying other objects, such as synthetic hair. Do not use it to dry pets.
• This appliance is only suitable for private household use and it is not designed for commercial purpose.
• This appliance is intended for indoor use only.
• Use the appliance only as described in this manual.
• Any other use might lead to damage of the appliance, property or personal injury.
• No liability will be accepted for damage resulting from improper use or non-compliance with this manual.

BEFORE FIRST USE

- Unpack the unit carefully and remove all protective packaging and wrapping. Make sure no packaging debris remains on the appliance.

Warning!

Packaging materials are not toys. Do not allow children to play with packaging materials as they pose a choking hazard if swallowed!

• Check for completeness and transport damage. In case of damages or incomplete delivery, please contact your dealer (→ Warranty).
• Keep the packaging for storing your appliance when not in use for an extended period of time.
• Clean the appliance ( Cleaning and care).

OPERATION

• Connect the power plug (12) to a suitable electrical outlet.
• Set the air blow switch (9) to the desired level:

O OFF: Switched off
	LOW: Low air flow
	HIGH: Strong air flow

- Set the heating switch (8) to the desired level:

	LOW: Low temperature
	MED: Medium temperature
	HIGH: High temperature

• After use, set the air blow switch (9) to 0 to switch the appliance off.
- Disconnect the power plug (12) from the electrical outlet. Allow the appliance to cool completely before cleaning or storage.

Cool shot button

• Push the cool shot button (7) to immediately stop the hot air flow and switch to cold air.
• You can set your hairdo with cold air. Hot air will be generated as soon as you release the cold air button.

Using the concentrator or the diffuser

• If desired, use the concentrator (1) or the diffuser (13) delivered with the appliance.
• Attach the concentrator (1) (see fig. 1) or the diffuser (13) (see fig. 2) to the front of the hair dryer. Ensure that the appliance is switched off (level 0) and cooled down before fixing it.

Ionizer Function

• The device generates negatively charged ions, which neutralize the positively charged ions in the hair. The ion function has an antistatic effect on hair. The hair is easier to brush and easier to style.
• The ion function is activated as soon as the device is switched on.
• Use the device without nozzle or attachment to obtain better results with the ion function.
• The effect of the ions may be weaker if the device is used in an environment with high humidity.

OPERATION

THE CONCENTRATOR OR THE DIFFUSOR BECOME VERY HOT DURING USE! DO NOT TOUCH!

Notes:

• The concentrator (1) creates focused airflow for fast, gentle hair drying. Hair concentrators are generally used to create sleek, smooth styles.
• The function is good for spot drying and drying hair from roots to ends, quickly and evenly.
• The diffuser attachment (13) is suitable for drying permed or naturally curly hair.
• Use the diffuser attachment to achieve more volume and control at the roots of straight hair. Move the diffuser attachment (13) across your head in small circular movements

How to retract the power cord

- When you retract the power cord please press the retract button (3) by thumb and at the same time hold the plug by the other hand.

Note: When you use the appliance, you can pull out the power cord (11) until the red tape appears.

CLEANING AND CARE

Before cleaning, always switch off the appliance (level 0). Disconnect the power plug (12) from the electrical outlet and let the appliance cool completely.

Never immerse the appliance in water or other liquids.

• Clean the appliance with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
• Make sure that no moisture is entering the appliance during cleaning.
- Never use corrosive detergents, wire brushes, abrasive scourers, metal or sharp implements to clean your appliance.
• Dry the appliance thoroughly after cleaning.
• Regularly clean the inlet grille (6) to remove hair or lint.

Storage

• Store the appliance in a cool, dry location, away from children and pets.
• The appliance is equipped with a hanging loop (14) for hanging the appliance onto a hook.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem Possible cause Solution
Appliance does not switch on.	Power plug (12) is not connected to an electrical outlet.	Connect the power plug (12) with a suitable electrical outlet.
	Air blow switch (9) is set to the 0 position. Set the air blow switch (9) to the desired level.
Insufficient air blow.	The inlet grille (6) is blocked with hair or lint.	Switch off and unplug the appliance. After thorough cooling, remove all blockages.
Appliance stops suddenly.	This appliance is equipped with an overheating protection. In case of overheating, the appliance switches off automatically.	Switch off and unplug the appliance. Let it cool for at least 20 minutes before using again.
