Function

The toaster heats bread slices and removes water from them. Due to the heat the bread will change its colour to brown. The bread will get a typical toast taste.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

IMPORTANT

Before you start using the appliance please read this user manual. Keep the manual for future reference and transfer together with the appliance.

1. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
2. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
3. The mains supply voltage shall match the rating of your appliance.
4. CAUTION: The appliance heats up during operation and is therefore hot. Do not touch metal parts; only touch knobs and buttons.
5. Pull the plug if you don't use the appliance, if there is a malfunction or if you leave the room.
6. Do not place this appliance on or near a hot gas cooker or a heated oven. Keep the power cord away from hot surfaces.
7. Bread can catch fire. Do not operate the toaster under curtains or other flammable objects.
8. When the bread is stuck unplug the toaster. Then use tongs to remove the bread. Be careful not to damage the heating wires and rendering the toaster inoperable.
9. Take care that the bread slices protrude slightly from the toaster when filling it. Then it is easier to remove the toast.
10. Only toast bread slices. The toaster is not suitable for preparation of sandwiches with fillings.
11. Do not immerse any part of this appliance in water or any other liquid.
12. The toaster shall not be used if it has been dropped or if there are visible signs of damage.
13. To remove the crumbs remove the crumb tray at the bottom of the appliance. Do not use the toaster without the crumb tray.
14. Pull the plug only by using the plug, not by pulling the cable.
15. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
16. Before storing the appliance let it cool down. Pull the plug.
17. When you don't use the appliance according to these instructions we reject any liability.

Unpack and Check

After unpacking please investigate the toaster for damage. Check whether the bread lift operates smoothly. Do not use the appliance if it is damaged in any way. Bring it back to the dealership immediately. Remove all packing material, plastic inserts and films. Start the toaster empty. If the appliance smokes a little bit, this is normal when this ends after a few minutes. Take care that the toaster does not begin to burn, for example, because you have forgotten to remove packing material.

OPERATION:

Put a bread slice into the bread slot, two slices can be toasted at the same time.

Note: Make sure the crumb tray is completely positioned in place before using.

Plug the power cord into the outlet.

Set toast controller to your desired color. There are 7 browning levels, the lowest is white and the highest is dark. Burnt bread may be cancerogenic.

Note: 1) Toasting color for one slice is darker than that for double bread at the same level.

2) If toasted continuously, toasting color for the latter bread is darker than the color of previous cycle at the same level.

3) If you are unsure, start with the toaster at its lowest setting and experiment with higher settings to toast to your liking.

Press carriage handle down vertically until it is positioned in place, and toasting begins.

Once the bread has been toasted to the preset color, the carriage handle will automatically pop up.

Note: The carriage handle can only be latched when the appliance connects to the power supply.

During the toasting you may interrupt the toasting process by pressing the Cancel button at any time.

For toasting frozen bread press carriage handle down until it is positioned in place, then press Defrost button and the lamp of Defrost will turn on.

Heating rolls with your bun warmer

To heat rolls, place the bun warmer designed for heating rolls on top of the toasting slot, it will click when in the proper position, and place the rolls on it.

Warning do not place the rolls directly on the toasting slot as this could lead to an overheating of the toaster.

Set the Toast Controller at a low to medium level and press the Carriage handle down.

To remove the bun warmer, gently lift up handles.

• Pull the plug and let the appliance cool down.
- Clean the appliance only with a damp cloth. Don't use a sponge and make sure that no water enters the appliance.
- Open food can attract pests. Pull out crumb tray on bottom of toaster and empty it. Make sure the crumb tray is completely closed before using the toaster again.
• NEVER immerse the appliance in water or other liquids.
- Do not use paint thinner, gasoline, or abrasive cleaners. Abrasive cleaners or utensils make scratches which provide excellent hiding places for fungi and bacteria.

This warranty declaration does not limit your statutory warranty rights as a consumer against the seller of the device. Our warranty is only valid for the private use of the device and is limited to the territory of the Federal Republic of Germany.

The warranty period is 3 years from date of purchase.

At the discretion of HOME ELECTRIC, the device will be repaired or replaced or defective parts are replaced. Other claims are excluded.

To effect a warranty repair our service partner needs Proof of purchase, either as an original invoice from the dealer or the cash-register printed document. Furthermore, the serial number must be legible on the appliance. Without Proof of purchase unfortunately, we can not guarantee free services.

We recommend that you keep the original packaging in order to ensure a safe transportation of the equipment.

Warranty repairs may be performed only by the E2 Servicecenter GmbH. or from their authorized subcontractors or partners.

For other repairs all warranty becomes null and void and no reimbursement is possible.

No warranty is provided for:

improper treatment

mechanical damage to the enclosure

damage during transport

wear and tear

for improper and inappropriate use

for installation of the device in damp rooms or outdoors

for damages caused by force majeure, wars, water, lightning, overvoltage and other cases for

which HOME ELECTRIC is not responsible

in case of excessive use, especially when other than private use

disregarding the instruction manual and installation errors

if the device has no technical defect

for transport and travel cost, as well as setting up and dismantling costs

The warranty does not cover any further liability on our part, particularly not for damages which are not on the device itself or those costs caused by the absence of the device until the return of the repaired or replaced appliance (e.g. transport costs, handling costs, etc.).

However, our legal liability, especially according to the Product Liability Act, is not limited or excluded.

Our repairs do not extend the warranty period of 3 years not even with regard to possibly exchanged Components.
