OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Intended use
- The device is intended only for the preparation of food. Any other use can lead to damages of the device or injuries.
Unpacking and control
- Carefully take the device and its accessories out of the packaging. Retain the packaging in case you would like to store the device away or transport it at a later date. If you choose to dispose of the packaging, then please do so according to the applicable legal regulations.
- Check the packaging contents for completeness and damages. Should the contents in the packaging not be complete or be damaged, do not use the device. Return it to your retail outlet immediately.
- Replace each of the hotplates once to check their correct fit.
Preparation
- Clean all hotplates (3, 10, 11, 12) with a damp cloth. Following wipe dry again.
- To remove production residues, operate the device without food for about 10 minutes. Please ensure sufficient ventilation, as this may lead to slight smell and smoke, but this is normal and will disappear after a short time.
- Following, clean the device as described in chapter CLEANING AND CARE.
Replacing the hotplates
- You can insert the hotplates according to your personal taste. Proceed as follows.
- Allow the device to cool off completely before replacing the hotplates.
- Slide the upper and lower lock release slider (1, 9) downwards or forwards in order to remove the hotplates. You can now lift the hotplates out of the guidance and insert the desired one. Press down the hotplates and ensure the snap closure locks into position.
- Attention: Always insert the hotplates only in pairs.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Making a sandwich
- Insert the sandwich plates (3, 10) (see also chapter Replacing the hotplates).
- Before you begin baking, grease the non-stick coated hotplates with a small amount of fat.
- Connect the device to the mains supply. The red operating light (6) and the green control light (5) light up and indicate that the device is connected to the mains supply and heats up. As soon as the temperature is reached, the green control light (5) turns off. During the baking process the control light (5) turns on and off alternately. This indicates that the temperature is kept constant.
- While the device heats up, you can butter the toast and prepare the fillings. We recommend using only slices of toast, which have the same shape as the hotplates of the device.
- Put the slices of toast on the hotplates with the buttered side to prevent sticking when removing them and to achieve a golden-brown outer edge.
- Now add the filling according to your taste and make sure that the filling does not extend beyond the edge of toast. At last, add the top toast slices.
- Now open the pre-heated device with the two handles (2, 8) and lay the filled slices of toast carefully on the lower hotplates.
- Close the device by pressing the lid down firmly and locking it.
- Never close the device with force; eventually reduce the amount of filling a little bit. Make sure not to burn yourself. Hot steam can escape.
- After about 3-4 minutes, the slices of toast are ready (depending on the filling and type of toast). Begin with short baking times and increase it until you have found the desired time.
- Unlock the closure and open the lid carefully by using the handles (2, 8).
- Use a heat-resistant plastic or wooden spatula to take out the finished sandwich. Do not use sharp or hard objects, as these may damage the non-stick coating. Do not use your fingers, there is risk of burnings.
- Wipe the plates with a paper towel if necessary (and a little bit of cooking oil).
- Close the device if you want to prepare more sandwiches, in order to keep the temperature constant.
- While the first toast slices are baking, prepare more slices.
- Pull the plug out of the socket once you are done, or leave the room for a short time.
- Allow the device to cool off before cleaning it.
- Following, clean the device as described in chapter CLEANING AND CARE.
Contact grill
- Insert the grill plates (12) (see also chapter Replacing the hotplates).
- Although the heating plates have an anti-adhesive coating, you can also use oil, grease, butter, lard or margarine. Please note, that margarine "light" and various plant oils (cold-pressed olive oil, thistle-, linseed-, wheat germ-, corn-, sesame-, walnut-, hazelnut oil) are unsuitable for frying. Use these oils only for cold food.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
- Connect the device to the mains supply. The red operating light (6) and the green control light (5) light up and indicate that the device is connected to the mains supply and heats up. As soon as the temperature is reached, the green control light (5) turns off. During the baking process the control light (5) turns on and off alternately. This indicates that the temperature is kept constant.
- Open the device and place the grill-food on the lower grill plate. Only use precooked meat. The device is not suitable for grilling raw meat.
- Now close the lid.
- Check the grill-food after about 2 minutes. Grill your food, until it has reached the desired degree of browning.
• Note: If your grill-food starts smoking, use a different oil or fat.
Baking waffles
- Insert the waffle plates (11) (see chapter Replacing hotplates).
- Grease the waffle plate slightly with butter, margarine or edible oil.
- Open the device and then spread the batter evenly across the bottom-baking surface. To determine the correct amount of dough, fill in the dough until it just touches the edges of the waffle plates. If necessary, increase the amount of dough for the next waffle. Make certain that the batter does not run over the edge of the baking surface. Now close the lid.
- At the earliest after 2 minutes you can open the lid to check the baking result. Opening the lid early will only tear the waffle.
- Continue baking the waffle until it has reached the desired degree of browning. The degree of browning is adjustable through the baking time. In this way, the waffles can be baked to a golden yellow or a crispy brown.
- When removing the waffles, be sure not to accidentally damage the coating of the baking surfaces. Always remove the finished waffle with help of a flat wooden or plastic spatula. Never use metal or other sharp objects (e.g. knives, metal spatula, fork, etc) as it can damage the non-stick coating. If this happens, in future it will be more difficult to remove the waffles from the baking surface.
• After baking the last waffle, pull the power plug out of the socket and allow the device to cool with the lid up.
Hints for better results
- Grease the hotplates. Spread the waffle dough quickly, to ensure the waffle top and bottom is evenly brown.
- Place the finished waffles on a grid, this way they stay crispy. Stacked waffles soften quickly.
CLEANING AND CARE, TECHNICAL DATA

- Wait until the device has cooled off completely. Clean the device from the outside only with a damp cloth. Make sure that no liquid, oil or grease gets into the interior of the device.
