Frequently Asked Questions - DF-60 Clas Ohlson

What type of oil can I use in the DF-60 deep fryer?
Use vegetable, corn, or olive oil. Avoid oils with short shelf life like sunflower oil. Do not mix different oils.
How much oil should I put in the fryer?
Fill with a maximum of 3 litres. Adjust the level based on what you are frying, but never exceed the max line.
Why is the green indicator light not turning off?
The green light turns off once the set temperature is reached. If it stays on, the oil may not have reached temperature yet. Warm-up takes about 15–20 minutes.
How do I clean the deep fryer?
Unplug and let cool. The basket and oil basin are dishwasher safe. Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Never immerse the control panel or cord in water.
The fryer stopped heating. How do I reset it?
Unplug the fryer and let it cool. Lift the control panel and press the safety cut-off switch using a pointed object until it clicks. Reassemble and try again.
Can I fry frozen food directly?
Make sure the food is as dry as possible to avoid oil splatter. Frozen food should be thawed and patted dry before frying.
What is the maximum amount of food I can fry at once?
Do not fill the basket more than half-full. Refer to the frying guide in the manual for specific weights (e.g., French fries 550g).
How often should I change the oil?
Change the oil after 8–10 uses or when it becomes dark or smells rancid. You can filter the oil with a coffee filter to reuse.
Is the deep fryer safe to leave unattended?
No, never leave the fryer unattended during use. It can become very hot and poses a fire hazard. Always unplug after use.
What should I do if the oil catches fire?
Never use water. Unplug the fryer and smother the fire with a fire blanket or wet towel. Do not try to move the fryer.
