Frequently Asked Questions - 18-2868 Cotech

Can I use this heater in a bathroom?
The heater is IP24 rated, meaning it is splash-proof and suitable for use in bathrooms, but it must not be placed near a bathtub, shower, or swimming pool. Always follow the safety instructions in the manual.
How do I switch between 500W and 1000W?
Use the power switch knob. Set it to EXPRESS for 1000W or ECONOMY for 500W. The indicator light shows when the heater is actively heating.
Can I leave the heater unattended?
It is not recommended. The heater has a tip-over switch and overheat protection, but you should always unplug it when not in use and never leave it unattended for long periods.
How do I clean the heater?
Switch off, unplug, and let cool. Wipe the housing with a dry cloth. Do not use water, wax, polish, or solvents as they may damage the heater.
Can I mount the heater on the wall?
Yes, the heater comes with a wall bracket, spacers, and an anchor. Follow the mounting instructions in the manual. Ensure minimum clearances: 150 mm on sides, 200 mm above, 500 mm front, 120 mm below.
What is the tip-over switch?
The tip-over switch automatically turns off the heater if it tilts or falls over. It resets automatically when the heater is returned to an upright position.
What power cord length is provided?
The mains lead is 1.8 meters long. Always plug into an easily accessible earthed socket.
Can the heater be used with an extension cord?
It is not recommended. If you must use one, ensure the cord is rated for the heater's power (max 1000W) and is fully unwound to avoid overheating.
What should I do if the heater doesn't turn on?
Check that the power switch is set to EXPRESS or ECONOMY, the plug is fully inserted, and the socket is working. If it still doesn't work, the tip-over switch may have tripped – place the heater upright. If problems persist, contact customer service.
Is the heater safe for use around children?
Children aged 3-8 may only switch it on/off under supervision. Children under 3 must be kept away. The heater becomes very hot – ensure children do not touch it. Use caution.
