Frequently Asked Questions - YLQ20S-100 Westfalia

Can I use detergent with this pressure washer?
Yes, you can use suitable liquid detergents. Attach the detergent nozzle (not included, order article 34 27 25) to the lance. Only use detergents recommended by the manufacturer to avoid damage to the unit or cleaned surfaces.
Is it safe to wash my car with this pressure washer?
Yes, but maintain a minimum distance of 30 cm from the surface to avoid damage. Do not direct the jet at tires, electronic components, or the engine's sensitive parts. Use a wide spray pattern for delicate paint.
How do I connect the high-pressure hose?
Insert the hose coupling into the spray gun opening while pressing the lock lever, then push firmly until it clicks. Screw the other end onto the cleaner's outlet connector hand-tight. Ensure all connections are sealed before switching on.
Why won't the pressure washer start?
Check that the power cord is plugged in and the socket is live. Ensure the water tap is fully open and the unit is switched on (I=on). If the thermal protector has tripped, wait a few minutes for it to cool down. Verify the inlet filter is not clogged.
Can I use an extension cord?
Yes, but use only a water-safe extension cord approved for outdoor use. Recommended: type H07 RN-F, 3x1.5 mm², with a residual current device (RCD) rated at <30 mA.
How should I store the pressure washer after use?
Turn off the unit, unplug, and shut off the water supply. Disconnect all hoses and tilt the cleaner to drain residual water. Store in a dry, frost-free place. Keep connections clean and dry; lightly lubricate if necessary.
What does the lock-off button do?
The lock-off button (10) on the spray gun prevents accidental triggering. Press it outward to lock the trigger, inward to release. It does not lock during use; it only secures the trigger when not operating.
Is the rotating nozzle included?
No, the rotating nozzle (article no. 34 27 25) is sold separately. It screws onto the nozzle (7) for a powerful rotating jet. Only hand-tighten.
Can I use hot water in this pressure washer?
Yes, but the water temperature must not exceed 60°C. Higher temperatures can damage the pump. Do not use boiling water.
What should I do if the pressure drops during use?
Check that the nozzle is not clogged and ensure the water supply is adequate. Clean the inlet filter regularly. The nozzle setting may need adjustment to a narrower jet for higher pressure.
