OPERATION
- Before the first use, we advise you to clean the grill plates with a damp cloth and to dry them carefully.
- Open the grill to make sure there is nothing on the grilling surface. Close the grill and insert the plug into the power socket. The red power light will come on, indicating that the appliance is heating.
- Slide the thermostat to the desired position. When the green pilot light comes on, it means that the appliance has reached the desired temperature.
- If you want to raise or lower the temperature, you can do so using the thermostat. The pilot light will come on and out according to the heating cycle. This will allow the grill to have a constant temperature as long as the appliance is in use.
- The non-stick coating allows you not to make use of grease or oil for most foods. For low-fat foods such as fish or vegetables, you can grease the grill plates, but if the fish or vegetables are marinated, it is not necessary.
- When the grill has reached the right temperature, open it by lifting the upper plate. Note that if the upper grill plate was locked by the locking clip, it is necessary to press the locking clip before opening the appliance.
- Put the foods on the lower grill plate and close the lid. The lid will adapt to the thickness of the food. If you want the plates to be as near as possible to each other, you can lock the upper plate to the lower plate by pressing the locking clip.
- Put a receptacle under the grease draining slot of the grillplate, in order to collect the grease that might come out of the grill during use.
- Let the foods grill. As all foods have a different baking time, it is impossible to predict their exact baking time. In order to avoid overcooking, check the foods regularly during the grilling process.
- When the foods are ready, remove them from the grill and put them in the appropriate dish. Do not use any sharp metal utensils to remove them from the grill, as this might damage the non-stick coating. Use a wood or plastic spatula.
- If you want to end the cooking process, put the thermostat on position "1", pull the plug from the power socket and let the appliance cool down.
CLEANING
• Pull the plug from the power socket and let the appliance cool down before cleaning it.
- Clean the grill plates with a damp cloth, sponge or paper towel.
- To make cleaning easier, your appliance comes with a plastic spatula which will help you to remove food residues from the grooves of the grill plates. Do not use hard, sharp utensils. If the grill plates are very dirty, use mild washing-up product. Rinse with hot water and dry the plates carefully. The cleaning succeeds best when the grill plates are still slightly hot.
• To clean the housing, use a damp cloth, if necessary with some mild washing-up product.
- Make sure no water or other liquid penetrates into the appliance.
- Never clean the appliance under running water. Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
