USER INSTRUCTION

Unpack and Check

After unpacking please investigate the coffee maker for damage. Check the glass jug for cracks. Do not use the appliance if it is damaged in any way. Bring it back to the dealership immediately.

Remove all packing material, and keep it away from children.

Fill the water container with cold water and boil one or two cycles to remove production residue. Do not drink this water.

Making Coffee

Fill cold (!) water into the water container behind the funnel. On the right side of the appliance you can see the water level. Do not fill over max. Since cups and pots have non-standard sizes the markings can only serve as reference. You can determine the right amount when you take your favourite cups or pots, fill them with water in fill it then into the water container. For later use you can use a plastic container for filling to save the glass jug from accidents.

Take filter paper, fold it according to instruction of the filter packing and insert it into the funnel. Fill the coffee powder into the filter. The correct amount is a matter of taste. If this is your first coffee, try one teaspoon per cup at first. You can also add other ingredients to improve the taste of the coffee, such as cardamom, nutmeg, salt, etc. DO NOT add anything to the water in the water tank.

The funnel has an anti-drip function. This only works when the lid of the glass jar is closed.

Warming Tray

The warming tray under the glass jug helps to keep the coffee warm during the coffee making process. It is not suitable to keep the coffee warm afterwards. The coffee will cook and the taste will deteriorate. After a few hours the coffee residue will be burnt and the jug will be difficult to clean.

Instead switch off the appliance and use a thermos jug after the coffee is brewed.

CLEANING, MAINTENANCE

  • Pull the plug before cleaning. let the appliance cool down.
  • The filter with the used coffee ground can be composted.
  • Rinse the jug and the funnel in warm soapy water.
  • If coffee is burnt-in in the jug, put in soapy water and let it soak for a while.
  • Use a damp cloth on the enclosure.
  • When you live in an area with hard water, let a solution of water and vinegar run through the appliance once a month. This will dissolve the limescale.
  • Clean the main appliance only with a damp cloth. Don't use a sponge and make sure that no water enters the appliance.
  • NEVER immerse the appliance in water or other liquids.
  • Do not use paint thinner, gasoline, or abrasive cleaners. Abrasive cleaners or utensils make scratches which provide excellent hiding places for fungi and other pests.
  • Do not use chemical water softeners for brewing coffee.
