Frequently Asked Questions - 6719DG SYLVANIA

How do I connect my cable box to the TV?
Use an HDMI cable to connect the cable box to the HDMI port on the TV. If your cable box is older, use composite (RCA) cables (yellow, white, red). Then select the appropriate input source using the Source button on the remote.
The remote control is not working. What should I do?
First, check if the batteries need replacing. If the remote still doesn't work, try cleaning the infrared sensor on the TV and on the remote. Ensure there are no obstacles between the remote and the TV. If problems persist, you may need a replacement remote.
How do I scan for digital channels?
Press the Menu button on your remote, go to Setup or Channel, then select Auto Tuning or Channel Scan. Choose Air for antenna or Cable for cable. The TV will search for available channels automatically.
Why is there no picture but sound is working?
This may be a brightness/contrast setting issue. Press Menu and check Picture settings. Also try adjusting the Backlight and Brightness. If the screen is blank but sound is present, it could be a source problem; try switching inputs. If the issue persists, try a factory reset.
How do I connect a USB drive to play media?
Insert the USB drive into the USB port on the TV. Then press the Source button and select USB or Media. Use the remote to navigate and select the file you want to play. Supported formats include MP4, AVI, JPEG, and MP3.
Can I mount this TV on the wall?
Yes, the TV has a VESA mount pattern of 100x100 mm. You will need a compatible wall mount bracket (not included). Ensure the wall can support the weight of the TV. Follow the mounting instructions carefully to avoid injury.
How do I reset the TV to factory settings?
Press the Menu button, navigate to Setup or System, then select Factory Reset or Reset All. Confirm the selection. This will erase all settings and channels. Note that some settings cannot be undone.
The TV turns off by itself. What could be wrong?
This may be due to the Sleep Timer being set. Press Menu and check Timer settings. Also ensure that Auto Power Off is not enabled. If the issue continues, it could be an overheating problem; check that ventilation slots are not blocked. Contact support if needed.
How do I clean the TV screen?
Turn off the TV and unplug it. Use a soft, dry microfiber cloth to gently wipe the screen. For stubborn spots, slightly dampen the cloth with distilled water (not wet). Never use alcohol, ammonia, or abrasive cleaners as they can damage the screen coating.
How can I improve the sound quality?
Access the Audio menu via the remote. Adjust Equalizer settings (e.g., increase bass or treble). You can also enable Surround Sound if available. For better sound, connect external speakers via the audio out jack or use an HDMI ARC connection to a soundbar.

  6. Attachments - Do not use attachments not recommended by the unit manufacturer as they may cause hazards.
  7. Water and Moisture - Do not use this unit near water - for example, near a bath tub, wash bowl, kitchen sink, or laundry tub, in a wet basement, or near a swimming pool, and the like.
  8. Accessories - Do not place this unit on an unstable cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table. The unit may fall, causing serious injury to someone, and serious damage to the appliance. Use only with a cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table recommended by the manufacturer, or sold with the unit. Any mounting of the appliance should follow the manufacturer's instructions and should use a mounting accessory recommended by the manufacturer. An appliance and cart combination should be moved with care. Quick stops, excessive force, and uneven surfaces may cause the appliance and cart combination to overturn.

SYLVANIA 6719DG - IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS - 1

these openings must not be blocked or covered. The openings should never be blocked by placing the unit on a bed, sofa, rug, or other similar surface. This unit should never be placed near or over a radiator or heat register. This unit should not be placed in a built-in installation such as a bookcase or rack unless proper ventilation is provided or the manufacturer's instructions have been adhered to.

  1. Power Sources - This unit should be operated only from the type of power source indicated on the marking label. If you are not sure of the type of power supply to your home, consult your appliance dealer or local power company. For the units intended to operate from battery power, or other sources, refer to the operating instructions.
  2. Grounding or Polarization - This unit is equipped with a polarized alternating-current line plug (a plug having one blade wider than the other). This plug will fit into the power outlet only one way. This is a safety feature. If you are unable to insert the plug fully into the outlet, try reversing the plug. If the plug should still fail to fit, contact your electrician to replace your obsolete outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized plug.
  3. Power-Cord Protection - Power-supply cords should be routed so that they are not likely to be walked on or pinched by items placed upon or against them, paying particular attention to cords at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the appliance.
  4. Outdoor Antenna grounding - If an outside antenna or cable system is connected to the unit, be sure the antenna or cable system is grounded so as to provide some protection against voltage surges and built-up static charges. Article 810 of the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA No. 70, provides information with respect to proper grounding of the mast and supporting structure, grounding of the lead-in wire to an antenna discharge unit, size of grounding conductors, location of antenna-discharge unit, connection to grounding electrodes, and requirements for the grounding electrode. (Fig. A)

  1. Lightning - For added protection for this unit receiver during a lightning storm, or when it is left unattended and unused for long periods of time, unplug it from the wall outlet and disconnect the antenna or cable system. This will prevent damage to the unit due to lightning and power-line surges.
  2. Power Lines - An outside antenna system should not be located in the vicinity of overhead power lines or other electric light or power circuits, or where it can fall into such power lines or circuits. When installing an outside antenna system, extreme care should be taken to keep from touching such power lines or circuits as contact with them might be fatal.
  3. Overloading - Do not overload wall outlets and extension cords as this can result in a risk of fire or electric shock.
  4. Object and Liquid Entry - Never push objects of any kind into this unit through openings as they may touch dangerous voltage points or short out parts that could result in a fire or electric shock. Never spill liquid of any kind on the unit.
