How do I set the clock in FM mode?

Press and hold the Info/Menu key for 2 seconds, then press it again to see 'CLOCK'. Press the Tune/Select knob, turn to set hour, press to confirm, then set minutes. The clock must be set manually each time the unit is fully powered off.

How many presets can I store and how?

You can store up to 8 presets. While tuned to a station, press and hold one of the preset keys 1-4 for 2 seconds. To access presets 5-8, press the 4+ key first, then store or recall using keys 1-4.

How do I set the alarm?

Press the Alarm key. Turn the Tune/Select knob to choose Alarm 1 or 2, press to confirm. Then select 'DAILY' or 'ONCE', set hour and minute, and finally choose alarm sound: BUZ (buzzer), DAB, or FM.

Why is my radio not finding any DAB+ stations?

Ensure the telescopic antenna is fully extended. Try performing a FULL scan by pressing and holding the Auto Scan key. If still no stations, move the radio to a different location near a window or away from interference.

How do I reset the radio to factory settings?

Press and hold the Info/Menu key for 2 seconds. In DAB+ mode, press the key again to reach 'RESET'. In FM mode, 'RESET' appears immediately. Press the Tune/Select knob to confirm.

Can I use only batteries without the power adaptor?

Yes, insert 6 x AA batteries (not included). Note: The radio will not charge batteries; you must use one power source at a time. Using both may cause damage.

How do I use the sleep timer?

Press and hold Info/Menu to enter menu, then press the key repeatedly until 'SLEEP' appears. Press Tune/Select, turn to set time (5-60 min), press to confirm. The radio will switch to standby after the set time.

How do I switch between DAB+ and FM?

Simply press the DAB+/FM key while the unit is on. The display will show the station/frequency of the selected mode.

What does the snooze function do?

When the alarm sounds, press the Snooze key. The alarm will stop and ring again after 5 minutes. To cancel snooze, press the Standby key.

Do I need to extend the antenna for FM reception?

Yes, always fully extend the telescopic antenna for both DAB+ and FM to ensure the best signal reception. For FM, you can also rotate the antenna for optimal signal.

1. Read Instructions - All the safety and operating instructions should be read before the appliance is operated.
2. Retain Instructions - The safety and operating instructions should be retained for future reference.
3. Heed Warnings - All warnings on the appliance and in the operating instructions should be adhered to.
4. Water and Moisture – Do not use the apparatus near water (e.g. bath tub, sink, swimming pool) or in wet places or tropical climates. Do not place objects filled with liquids, such as vases, on top of the apparatus. Do not expose the apparatus to dripping or splashing.
5. Setup – The apparatus should only be placed on a stable, flat surface. Do not let the apparatus fall down or expose it to shock.
6. Wall or Ceiling Mounting - The appliance should be mounted to a wall or ceiling only as recommended by the manufacturer.

First Use and Basic Functions

1. Power Supply

1.1 Mains Adaptor

Connect the mains adaptor to the DC power socket of the radio and to a suitable wall socket. Only use the supplied adaptor with this unit.

1.2 Batteries

Open the battery door at the back of the unit and insert 6x size AA batteries. Take care to insert the batteries according to the polarity as indicated inside the battery case. Close the battery door again.

Note: Only use one power source to operate the unit.

2. Switching the Unit On/Off

2.1 Main Power

Turn on the main power of the unit by turning the Power/Volume knob clockwise.

To switch the unit off completely turn the Power/Volume knob counter-clockwise until you can hear a click.

Note: When switching the unit off completely the clock settings are lost and must be reset (in DAB+ mode the clock is set automatically). The station presets are not affected.

2.2 Standby

To put the unit in standby mode press the Standby key.

The display will show "Goodbye" and switch to the clock display.

To switch the unit back on, press the Standby key.

3. First Use

1. Fully extend the telescopic antenna.

2. Connect the power and switch the unit on. The display will show:

1. If there is no DAB+ signal the display will show the below message:

Before scanning for DAB+ stations you can choose CANCEL to skip. The display will show the below message:

1. During scanning the LCD will display a slide bar that indicates the progress of the scan and the amount of radio stations that have been found so far:

1. Once the scan has finished the radio will play the first alphanumerically found station:

If you can't hear any sound, then turn the Volume control clockwise until you reach a desired level. If you consider the volume is too large, then turn the Volume control counter-clockwise to decrease the volume level to reach a desired level.

To explore the stations that have been found, turn the Tune/Select knob clockwise or counter-clockwise.

Every time you turn the tune knob, you will skip to the next/previous found station. When a desired station is displayed, press down on the Tune/Select knob to play it.

1. If during the channel search no stations are found, the display will show

1. If there is no DAB+ signal or service after checking all the frequencies, the display will show

1. If there is no DAB+ signal after stations have been found previously and the station information is still in the memory, the display will show

1. When you switch the unit off and back on, the unit will play the station which was played before switching the unit off last.

4. Switching between DAB+ and FM modes

To switch between DAB+ and FM modes simply press the DAB+/FM key while the unit is on.

5. Clock Setting

5.1 DAB+ Mode

In DAB+ mode the time will be set automatically and you do not have to make any

manual adjustments.

Note: Switching the unit off completely or disconnecting it from power supply will cause the clock to reset. When the unit is turned on again in DAB+ mode, the clock will automatically reset itself to the correct time (DAB+ signal must be available).

5.2 FM Mode

In FM mode the time needs to be set manually:

1. Press and hold the Info/Menu key for 2 seconds to enter the menu.
2. Press the Info/Menu key once again to display the menu option "CLOCK".
3. Press down on the Tune/Select knob to enter the time setting. The hours are flashing.
4. Turn the Tune/Select knob to select the current hour and press down on this knob to confirm. Now the minutes are flashing.
5. Turn the Tune/Select knob to select the current minutes and press down on this knob to confirm.
6. The time is now set and the display will switch back to the frequency.

Note: Switching the unit off completely or disconnecting it from power supply will cause the clock to reset. If the unit is turned on again in FM mode, the clock does not reset itself but must be set manually again. For an automatic time setting switch the unit into DAB+ mode.

DAB+ Mode

1. Storing Stations

You can store up to 8 of your favorite stations to the preset keys, this will enable you to get access your favorite stations quickly.

1. To store a preset, you must first be listening to the station that you would like to save.
2. Then press and hold one of the presets labeled 1-4 for 2 seconds. The LCD will then show "P# SAVED".

Note: If you want to save the current station to one of the presets 5 - 8, press the 4+ key to switch the presets 1-4 to presets 5-8. Then to store preset 5, for example, press and hold 1 to save preset 5.

"P# SAVED" will appear in the display.

2. Recalling a Stored Station

Once you have saved a station to one of the presets, you can recall it by pressing and releasing the corresponding preset key, e.g. if you saved a station to preset 1, then just press the number 1 preset key.

If you press a preset that hasn't been allocated a station, then it will display "P#

EMPTY".

Note: If you want to recall preset 5, press 4+ key, and then press number 1 button.

3. Display Modes and Menu in DAB+ Mode

When you press the Info/Menu key repeatedly, the display will cycle through the following display modes:

Browse through the menu by pressing Info/Menu repeatedly.

You can open each menu option by pressing down on the Tune/Select knob and set a required value by rotating it. Confirm your settings by pressing down on the Tune/Select knob again.

4. Signal Strength

The slide bar indicates how strong the received signals are, the stronger the signal, the longer the bar will be from left to right.

Signal strength

If the signal level drops below the fifth bar (minimum signal level) then you may experience problems with the quality of the audio. In this case try to position the radio at another location.

Note: This signal intension is only for indicating DAB+ stations strength.

5. Tuning

5.1 Auto Scan Modes

There are two types of auto scan, one is LOC scan and the other is FULL scan. LOC scan searches the Local DAB+ band III. FULL scan searches all band III DAB+ channels.

To activate the LOC scan press the Auto Scan key and for FULL scan press and hold the Auto Scan key.

5.2 Manual Tuning

As well as an auto tune function, you can manually tune the receiver. This can help you when aligning your aerial or when adding stations that were missed while auto tuning:

1. Press and hold the Info/Menu key to enter the menu. The display will show the first menu option "MANUAL".
2. Press down on the Tune/Select knob to enter the manual setting option.
3. Turn the Tune/Select knob to select the desired frequency and press down on this knob to select it.

Note: DAB+ channels are numbered from 5A to 13F.

When the receiver locates an ensemble/multiplex on one of the DAB+ channels, it will display this on the LCD.

Press down on the Tune/Select knob to enter the current ensemble/multiplex, the LCD will now display the first station in the ensemble/multiplex.

To see what stations are present on the found ensemble/multiplex, just turn the Tune/Select knob, it will automatically select the next station. Once you have reached the last station in the found ensemble, it will revert back to the first station again. If you wish to exit the manual tuning mode press the Tune/Select knob.

FM Mode

1. Switching from DAB+ to FM

In order to switch the radio from DAB+ to FM mode, you need to press the DAB+/FM key once. The display will show:

2. Auto Scan

To search for an FM station, you need to press and then release the Auto Scan key. This will start scanning up the frequency band. To scan down the frequency band, press and hold the Auto Scan key. Once a station has been found the turn will stop automatically.

3. Manual Tuning

To select a station manually turn the Tune/Select knob to the desired frequency.

4. Storing Stations

To procedure to store radio stations is the same as for DAB+ mode.

5. Display Modes and Menu in FM Mode

When you press the Info/Menu key repeatedly, the display will cycle through the following display modes:

CLOCK

Displays the current time.

SLEEP REMAIN TIME

Displays the remaining sleep time.

FREQUENCY

Displays the currently selected frequency.

Press and hold the Info/Menu key for 2 seconds to enter the MENU mode. Browse through the menu by pressing Info/Menu repeatedly.

You can open each menu option by pressing down on the Tune/Select knob and set a required value by rotating it. Confirm your settings by pressing down on the Tune/Select knob again.

Other Functions

1. Alarm

1.1 Alarm Setting

1. While listening to the radio (DAB+ or FM) press the Alarm key. The display will show the following:

1. Turn Tune/Select knob to select "ALARM 1" or "ALRARM 2":

1. Press down on the Tune/Select knob to confirm your selection. The display will now show "OFF". Turn the Tune/Select knob to select whether to switch the alarm "OFF", "DAILY" or "ONCE":

1. Press down on the Tune/Select knob to confirm your setting. Next the hour display will be flashing. Turn the Tune/Select knob to set the hour of the desired alarm time:

1. Press down on the Tune/Select knob to confirm your setting. Next the minute display will be flashing. Turn the Tune/Select knob to set the minute of the desired alarm time:

1. Press down on the Tune/Select knob to confirm your setting. Next you can select the alarm mode. Turn the Tune/Select knob to chose between buzzer "BUZ", "DAB" of "FM":

1. Press down on the Tune/Select knob to confirm your setting. The alarm is set.

If the alarm is set to buzzer, a bell ring will be activated for 60 minutes. If the alarm is set to radio (DAB+ or FM) the previously selected station will be played.

To switch off the alarm, press the Standby key.

To deactivate the alarm completely, repeat the above steps 1 - 3 and select "OFF".

1.2 Snooze

1. To enable the Snooze function, press the Snooze key after the alarm starts. The alarm will turn on every 5 minutes if the snooze function is activated.
2. Press Standby key to cancel the Snooze function.

2. Sleep Timer

The sleep timer function enables you to set a countdown timer (5 - 60 minutes in 5 minute intervals) after which the unit will switch off (Standby mode) automatically.

1. To set the sleep timer enter the menu as described above and select the "SLEEP" menu option.
2. Enter the menu option by pressing down on the Tune/Select knob. Turn the knob to select the desired time and press down on it once again to select the time.
3. The timer is set and the unit will switch to standby after the time is up.
4. To deactivate the timer to avoid the automatic switch off, repeat steps 1 and 2 and select "OFF".

3. System Reset

There may be times when you need to reset your receiver back to its original factory settings, e.g. when you move the radio to another part of the country so that you can pick up the local & national DAB+ stations in that area. If you don't do this, then when you select a station on the radio, it may no longer be available.

1. Press and hold the Info/Menu key for 3 seconds to enter the menu.
2. In FM mode the display will show "RESET" immediately. In DAB+ mode you need to press the Info/Menu key once more to reach the reset option.
3. Press down on the Tune/Select knob and the unit will be reset. This may

take a few seconds.

1. Once the reset procedure is finished the unit will switch back to the first FM frequency, or start the DAB+ auto scan respectively.
