Clock Radio for iPod/iPhone | User Manual
- Read Instructions - All the safety and operating instructions should be read before the appliance is operated.
- Retain Instructions - The safety and operating instructions should be retained for future reference.
- Heed Warnings - All warnings on the appliance and in the operating instructions should be adhered to.
- Water and Moisture – Do not use the apparatus near water (e.g. bath tub, sink, swimming pool) or in wet places or tropical climates. Do not place objects filled with liquids, such as vases, on top of the apparatus. Do not expose the apparatus to dripping or splashing.
- Setup – The apparatus should only be placed on a stable, flat surface. Do not let the apparatus fall down or expose it to shock.
- Wall or Ceiling Mounting - The appliance should be mounted to a wall or ceiling only as recommended by the manufacturer.
- Ventilation - The appliance should be situated so that its location or position does not interfere with its proper ventilation. For example, the appliance should not be situated on a bed, sofa, rug, or similar surface that may block the ventilation openings; or, placed in a built-in installation, such as a bookcase or cabinet that may impede the flow of air through the ventilation openings. Ensure a minimum distance of 5 cm around the apparatus for sufficient ventilation. Ensure that the ventilation is not impeded by covering the ventilation openings with items such as newspapers, table-cloths, curtains, etc.
- Heat - The appliance should be situated away from heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other appliances (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
- Power Sources - The appliance should be connected to a power supply only of the type described in the operating instructions or as marked on the appliance.
- Cables and Plugs – The mains plug shall remain readily operable. All cables should be routed so that they are not likely to be walked on or pinched by items placed upon or against them, paying particular attention to cords at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the appliance.
- Cleaning - The appliance should be cleaned only as recommended by the manufacturer. Clean by wiping with a dry and clean cloth. Do not use chemical cleaners or detergents. Always pull the mains plug before cleaning the unit.
- Non-use Periods - The power cord of the appliance should be unplugged from the outlet when left unused for a long period of time.
- Object and Liquid Entry - Care should be taken so that objects do not fall and liquids are not spilled into the enclosure through openings.
- Damage Requiring Service - The appliance should be serviced by qualified service personnel when:
a) The power-supply cord or the plug has been damaged; or
b) Objects have fallen, or liquid has been spilled into the appliance; or
c) The appliance has been exposed to rain; or
d) The appliance does not appear to operate normally or exhibits a marked change in performance; or
e) The appliance has been dropped, or the enclosure damaged. - Servicing - The user should not attempt to service the appliance beyond that described in the operating instructions. All other servicing should be referred to qualified service personnel.
- Open Fire – Keep the apparatus away from open fires. Do not place naked flame sources, such as lighted candles on the apparatus.
- Thunderstorms – During a thunderstorm the mains plug should be unplugged.
- Safety Check – After servicing the technician should conduct a safety check in order to
ensure that the apparatus is working properly and safely.

- Batteries – Always place batteries in the correct polarization into electrical components. Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the same or equivalent type. Do not mix old and new batteries. Take attention to the environmental aspects of battery disposal. Batteries shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like. Remove batteries before disposing of the product.
- Headphones (if applicable) – Excessive sound pressure from earphones and headphones can cause hearing loss.

PREPARATION FOR USE
This product is designed specifically to work with your iPhone / iPod (not included).
Power Connection
The clock radio unit can be powered by an external AC-DC adaptor, required the output DC 5V 2A (included).
Plug the AC-DC adaptor to a household outlet AC source, connect the adaptor's DC output plug to the DC IN Jack of the clock unit.
Only use the supplier adapter.
Battery Backup for Clock
This unit is equipped with a battery back up system; it requires a “AAA” size battery x 2 (not included). Insert the battery in the battery compartment, making certain that the positive and negative (+and-) battery terminals are attached to the corresponding terminals on the plate in the battery compartment. If an AC power failure occurs, the clock automatically switches to the battery power supply, the clock and timer memory continue running. When the AC power resumes, the clock switches back to AC again.
iPhone / iPod Inserts
Your unit comes with removable inserts* to ensure your iPhone / iPod fits properly in the dock on the top of the unit.
*Due to new iPhone / iPod models, new inserts subject to availability.
To Place an Insert
- Select the insert for your iPhone / iPod. Using the correct insert ensures the proper fit for your iPhone / iPod.
- Carefully place your iPhone / iPod into the dock.
- To remove/replace an insert, first remove your iPhone / iPod, then grip the insert and pull gently upwards.
- The manufacturer is not liable for damages to iPod/iPhone caused by incorrect usage.
TIME AND ALARM SETTINGS
Setting time using iPhone / iPod time Sync
The clock radio time sync feature allows you to sync the time setting on the clock radio to the time from you iPhone or recent model iPod (iPod touch / iPod nano and iPod classic; older iPod models such as iPod mini do not support this feature).
- Plug the AC adaptor cable into the AC adaptor jack located at the back of the unit, time flashes in the display.
- Insert your iPod/iPhone to the docking station. Once sync is completed, time updated will appear on the display.
- If sync was not successful, "Sync Failed" will appear on the display, If this
happens, please try again with a different iPhone / iPod if needed.

Note: It is possible to have up to 59 seconds difference between the clock radio and synced iPod / iPhone.
Setting Clock Manually
The unit must be in standby mode.
- Press and hold the clock SET/MEMORY button; “12 Hr” will blink. Press the TUNE UP or TUNE DOWN button to set the unit to the 24 hour (24 Hr) mode or 12 Hour (12 Hr) mode.
- Press the clock SET/MEMORY button and the hours will blink.
- Press the TUNE UP or DOWN to set the current hour.
- Then press the clock SET/MEMORY button again; the minute digits will blink.
- Press the TUNE UP or TUNE DOWN to set the current minutes.
- When done and you press clock SET/MEMORY button once again to store your setting.
Setting Alarm Time and Mode
This unit allows you to set 2 different alarm times. To preview the set alarm time and alarm mode press one of the ALARM buttons (AL.1 or AL.2) once while the unit is in standby mode and clock display. After 3 seconds the display switches back to the clock display.
Setting alarm time and mode:
- Enter the alarm preview mode by pressing one of the ALARM buttons (AL.1 or AL.2) shortly.
- While the display is showing the alarm time press and hold the relevant ALARM button for 3 seconds. The hours will blink.
- Press TUNE UP or TUNE DOWN to set the alarm hour.
- Press the ALARM button again; the minute digits will blink. Press TUNE UP or TUNE DOWN to set the alarm minutes.
- Press the ALARM button to select the sound mode (Buzzer, Radio, iPhone / ipod) for the alarm by pressing TUNE UP or TUNE DOWN.
- Press the ALARM button once again to finish the setting. After a few seconds the display will switch back to the clock display and show either ① or ② to indicate that the alarm is activated.
Activating/deactivating an alarm:

To activate a previously set alarm, press and hold one of the alarm buttons AL.1 or AL.2 for 2 seconds until the display shows either 📄 or 🌐You can also activate both alarms.

The alarm will now go on at the set time and mode. The alarm volume will gradually increase and it takes a few seconds until it can be heard. The
alarm reaches its peak volume after about 1 minute.
- To switch off the alarm, press the ON/OFF button. The alarm will come on again the next day at the set time and mode.
- To turn off the alarm completely press and hold the relevant ALARM button for 2 seconds while in standby mode until the symbols 📄 or 🌐 will disappear from the display.
Snooze function:
You can delay the alarm by pressing the SNOOZE button. It will come back on after about 9 minutes. This cycle can be repeated several times.
To switch off the alarm, press the ON/OFF button.
Notes:
- To wake to iPhone / iPod, your iPhone / iPod must be properly docked, otherwise no alarm will sound.
- If you select wake to iPhone / iPod but no iPhone / iPod is present, the alarm will automatically switch to buzzer alarm.
iPOD/iPHONE MODE
Listening to your iPhone / iPod
When the iPhone / iPod is docked and in standby mode, press the PLAY / PAUSE button on the Remote control to play it. The iPhone / iPod icon will appear on the display.

Note:
The above functions may not all be supported by all iPod/iPhone models.
Charging your iPhone / iPod
When you docked your iPhone / iPod it recharges (until fully charged).
Note: iPod Shuffle models will NOT charge.

RADIO
Listening to Radio
- Press the ON/OFF button to turn the unit on.
- Press the FUNCTION button to select the Radio Mode.
- Use the TUNE UP or TUNE DOWN button to select the desired FM station. If you press and hold the TUNE UP or TUNE DOWN button for one second, then release, the unit will automatically scan to the next broadcasting station.
- Press the ON/OFF button to turn the radio off.
To Set/Recall the radio presets
- Press the ON/OFF button to turn the unit on.
- Press the FUNCTION button to select the Radio Mode.
- Use the TUNE UP or TUNE DOWN button to select the desired FM station.
- Press and hold the clock SET/MEMORY button shortly until "P01" will blink in the display.
- Use the TUNE UP or TUNE DOWN buttons to select the number on which the station shall be stored.
- Press the clock SET/MEMORY button again to set the preset.
- Repeat steps 2 through 6 to set more presets.
- The unit can preset up to 20 stations for FM.
- Press the M+/M- buttons in radio mode to select one of the stored stations.
For Better Reception
This appliance has a FM antenna located at the rear cabinet. This wire is completely unraveled and extended for better reception.
OTHER FEATURES
Dimmer
The display brightness has 3 settings:
- Low
- Medium
- Bright
You can select the brightness level by pressing the SNOOZE/SLEEP/DIMMER button repeatedly in standby mode.
Sleep Function
- When listening to radio or iPhone / iPod, press SNOOZE/SLEEP/DIMMER button to enter sleep mode. You can then adjust the sleep timer from 90
minutes to 10 minutes in 10-minute-intervals by pressing the SNOOZE/SLEEP/DIMMER button repeatedly. The unit will automatically turn off after the selected time.
- To cancel the sleep function press the SNOOZE/SLEEP/DIMMER button repeatedly until "OFF" appears on the display.
- Press the ON/OFF button to switch the unit off manually.
AUX In
- Use a 3.5mm Male-to-Male Stereo cable (not included) to connect any external audio device with a 3.5 mm Headphone or Line-Out jack to the AUX IN jack on the back of the clock radio.
- Switch the unit on.
- Start playback on the external audio device. Adjust the volume on the audio device (do not set the volume too high to avoid distortion). You may also adjust the volume on the unit.
- To control playback function, use the controls provided by the external audio device.
Notes:
- This unit does not provide a recording signal from AUX IN to the iPhone / iPod.
- The 3.5 mm audio cable is not included.
