How do I install the ETG7256GKR gas cooker?

Unpack the appliance and install the four hob support legs using the nuts provided. Attach the burner caps and trivets in the correct positions. Connect the gas pipe to the inlet and fasten with a hose clamp. Ensure clearance from walls is at least 100 mm, or protect walls with non-combustible material. Test for gas leaks using soap solution.

What type of gas can I use with this model?

This cooker is designed for LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) only, with a supply pressure of 30 mbar. Do not use other gases as specified on the label.

How do I light the burner?

Press and hold the control knob, then turn it to the full flame (MAX) position. The electric igniter will spark and ignite the gas. If it doesn't light immediately, repeat several times to purge air from the gas line. Adjust the knob to the desired flame level.

What should I do if the burner flame is yellow or uneven?

A yellow flame indicates dirt on the burner cap. Clean the cap and ensure it is dry. Uneven flames may be due to an incorrectly fitted cap or blocked flame ports. Check that the cap is seated correctly and ports are clear. If the problem persists, consult a qualified technician.

Can I use a wok with this cooker?

Yes, but only use a wok support supplied or recommended by the manufacturer. Do not place a wok directly on the trivet as it may concentrate heat and damage the hotplate.

How do I clean the glass top and burner caps?

For the glass top, use a mild cream cleaner or nylon scourer. Avoid harsh abrasives, steel wool, or wax polishes. For burner caps, remove them, wash with mild detergent, and dry thoroughly before replacing. Ensure all flame ports are clear.

Why does the burner go out when I release the knob?

This cooker does not have a flame failure device. The flame must be manually held. Make sure you hold the knob in the MAX position for about 5 seconds after ignition to stabilize the flame. If it still goes out, check for drafts or low gas pressure.

What is the recommended pot size for the burners?

For efficient cooking, use pots with a diameter between 120 mm and 280 mm. Ensure the pot sits centrally on the trivet and does not overhang the appliance to avoid heat damage.

How do I check for gas leaks?

Turn on the gas supply and apply a soap solution (soap and water) to all joints and connections. If bubbles appear, there is a leak. Tighten the connection or replace the hose. Do not use a flame to check for leaks.

To avoid the risks that are always present when you use an appliance, it is important that the appliance is installed correctly and that you read the safety instructions carefully to avoid misuse and hazards. We recommend that you keep this instruction booklet for future reference and pass it on to any future owners.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Do not use gas other than that which is specified on the label attached.

Do not place anything (e.g., flame tamer or asbestos mat) between the pan and pan support, as serious damage to the appliance may result.

Do not remove the pan support and enclose the burner with a wok stand, as this will concentrate and deflect the heat onto the hotplate.

Do not use large pots or heavy weights that can bend the pan support or deflect flame onto the hotplate.

Locate pan centrally over the burner so that it is stable and does not overhang the appliance.

Use only a wok support supplied or recommended by the manufacturer of the appliance.

The unit is to be used for cooking only. Do not dry towels, clothes, etc., over it. If this is done, there is danger of fire.

If a gas leak is found, close the stopcock, open all windows, and call your dealer. Do refrain from turning an electric switch on or off, lighting a match, smoking, or using a lighter.

Use the appliance in a well-ventilated room.

Do not use vinyl gas hose. It is liable to be softened by heat. Use only a rubber hose.

Be sure to turn off the ignition knob and regulator of the cylinder after use.

Avoid touching the burner, pan stand, etc., immediately after use. Otherwise, you will get burnt.

Ensure that the rubber hose does not touch any part of the unit or lie underneath it.

Connect the rubber hose to the gas inlet and fasten it with a hose clamp.

Prior to installation, ensure that the local distribution conditions (nature of the gas and gas pressure) and the adjustment of the appliance are compatible.

The adjustment conditions for this appliance are stated on the label.

This appliance is not connected to a combustion products evacuation device. It shall be installed and connected in accordance with current installation regulations. Particular attention shall be given to the relevant requirements regarding ventilation.

CAUTION

In the event of the burner flames being accidentally extinguished, turn off the burner control knob and do not attempt to re-ignite the burner for at least 1 minute.

In case of hotplate glass breakage:

- Shut immediately off all burners and any electrical heating element and isolate the appliance from the power supply.

- Do not touch the appliance surface.

- Do not use the appliance.

Installation instructions

Follow the steps below to install the appliance.

1. Open the package, take out the polystyrene foam, and place it on an even surface.
2. Install the 4 hob support legs (supplied in the accessory bag) onto the 4 square yards using the nuts, as shown in the picture below. Make sure the glass panel is well protected when assembling the hob feet, and do not contact any sharp edges.

1. Assemble the burner caps in the correct positions, and assemble the trivets in the correct positions.

Please note that on ETG7276GKR and ETG7266GKR, the left trivet and right trivet are not the same. Please note the location when you assemble the trivets.

1. Connect the gas pipe to the inlet and fasten the connection by turning the clamp clockwise.

1. If the clearance between side/back walls and the hob is less than 100 mm, the walls must be protected with a non-combustible material. Horizontal surfaces less than 750 mm vertically above the cooktop must also be protected.

1. Check for leaks: Turn the gas on and check for leaks using soap solution and a brush around all joints and connections.

Test and operate

1. Test the appliance

Press the control knob and turn to the full flame setting to activate the electric igniter. The burner will ignite. Adjust the control knob to the desired setting. On initial usage, you may have to repeat this ignition function several times (to allow air to be purged from the gas supply system). No adjustment should be necessary. If any problem occurs, refer to the servicing instructions or the fault finding chart.

Please note that ETG7296GKR and ETG7286GKR have flame failure devices. Push down as far as possible for approximately 5 seconds. If the flame goes out when the knob is released, simply depress the knob again, this time holding it down with slightly more force for the same length of time.

2. Adjust air door

Normal and good performance flame should be blue and very small yellow flame at the flame tip. If you find the flame is too much yellow, you can adjust the valve air door to get the desired flame.

WARNING

Air door has been set at the factory, it is not recommended the user to adjust by themselves. Ask qualified technician or installer to adjust if necessary. When adjust the air door, make sure the gas pipe is well connected.

Using the hob correctly

To ensure maximum burner efficiency, it is strongly recommended that you use only pots and pans with a bottom fitting the size of the burner used, so that the flame will not spread beyond the bottom of the vessel. Recommended pot size is from 120mm to 280mm.

Glass top

• Persistent stains may require vigorous rubbing with nylon scourer or creamed powder cleansers. Household enamel cleaners are available, follow the manufacturer instructions in their use. Harsh abrasive cleaners, powder cleaners, steel wool or wax polishes should not be used.
• Do not use the glass top as a work table.

Burner Cap

These can all be lifted off and removed for separate cleaning.

• Ensure burner caps are thoroughly dried after cleaning or spillage.
• When cleaning the burner, ensure that all the flame ports are free of any blockage.

WARNING

When refitting the burner caps, ensure that they are correctly seated. When refitting the trivets, ensure the trivets are correctly seated on the hob.
