Why won't my blender start?

Check that all components (jug or grinder) are properly locked into position. Ensure the speed selector is set to the correct position, including PULSE if needed. Verify the jug is not overfilled and the plug is securely connected to a working outlet. If the problem persists, consult the authorized service center.

What should I do if there is a leak from the lid?

Reduce the content in the jug to below the maximum level. Make sure the lid is correctly positioned and locked onto the blender jug.

What should I do if the blender stops suddenly during operation?

This is likely due to the motor protector activating because of overloading. Unplug the appliance and wait at least 10 minutes for it to cool down. Remove half of the ingredients, then restart.

Can I grind coffee beans or nuts in this blender?

Yes, but it is recommended to use the grinder attachment for hard and dry substances like nuts, coffee beans, rice, etc. Do not use the blender jug for these items except for ice cubes. The grinder can be used for up to 30 seconds at a time.

How do I clean the blender thoroughly?

For thorough cleaning, unplug the appliance. Remove the jug from the motor base. Detach the blade assembly by turning it clockwise and pulling down. Rinse the blade assembly in soapy water (watch out for sharp blades). The lid, jug, and measuring cup are dishwasher safe. Wipe the motor base with a damp cloth only.

Is the blender jug dishwasher safe?

Yes, the jug, lid, and measuring cup can be washed in the dishwasher. However, the blade assembly should be hand washed to avoid damage.

Can I process hot liquids in this blender?

No, never process hot liquids. Maximum temperature is 40°C (lukewarm). Hot liquids can cause steam ejection or damage the appliance. Allow liquids to cool before blending.

How do I use the Pulse function?

Turn the speed selector to the PULSE position and hold it briefly for short bursts. Release to stop. This function gives better control for chopping nuts, crushing ice, or blending to desired consistency.

What is the maximum operating time for the blender?

For heavy loads (e.g., thick mixtures), do not run the blender continuously for more than 2 minutes. After that, let it cool for at least 10 minutes. For the grinder, do not use it for more than 30 seconds at a time, and allow 10 minutes cooling after 3 cycles.

How do I remove and reattach the blade assembly?

To remove, turn the blade assembly clockwise and pull it down from the jug. To reattach, align it under the jug and turn counterclockwise until it locks securely. Always handle blades carefully as they are very sharp.

SAFETY ADVICE

• Remove and safely discard any packaging materials before using the appliance.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
• Do not allow children to use the blender without supervision and ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
• Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be performed by children without supervision.
• The appliance can only be connected to a power supply which voltage and frequency comply with the specifications on the rating plate.

• The blades and inserts are very sharp. Danger of injury. Care shall be taken when changing accessories, after use and during cleaning and maintenance.
• Never touch the blade with your hand or insert any utensils while the appliance is plugged in and/or during operation.
• Keep hands and utensils away from the appliance during operation to avoid the risk of severe injury to persons or damage to the appliance.
• Ensure that the appliance is switched off before removing the jug or grinder from the motor base.
• Do not operate the appliance without food or liquid in the jug.
• Never operate the appliance without the lid or grinder cup.
• Do not use the appliance continuously for more than 2 minutes when processing heavy load. After using continuously for 2 minute with heavy loads, the appliance should be left to cool for at least 10 minutes before restarting.
• When using the grinder, do not use the appliance continuously for more than 30 seconds at any one time. After using the grinder for 3 times without interruption, the appliance should be left to cool for at least 10 minutes before restarting.
• The jug cannot be used for blending or grinding hard and dry substances, except for ice cubes. Use the grinder to grind hard and dry substances (Eg. nuts, candy, rice etc...)

• Never process hot liquids with this appliance (max 40^ ).

• Be careful if hot liquid is poured into the food processor or blender as it can be ejected out of the appliance due to a sudden steaming.

• Do not exceed the maximum filling volume as indicated on the appliances.
• Do not use this appliance to stir paint. Danger, could result in an explosion.
• Do not let the power cord come into contact with hot surfaces or hang over the edge of a table or counter.
• Never use accessories or parts made by other manufacturers not recommended or sold by Electrolux as it may cause a risk of injury to persons.
  • This appliance is for indoor use only.
• This appliance is intended for domestic use only. Electrolux will not accept any liability for possible damage caused by improper or incorrect use.
• This appliance is suitable to operate on both 50 and 60Hz .
• CAUTION: In order to avoid a hazard due to inadvertent resetting of the thermal cut-out, this appliance must not be supplied through an external switching device, such as a timer, or connected to a circuit that is regularly switched on and off by the utility.

GETTING STARTED

1. Before using the blender for the first time, make sure all the packaging has been removed before operating the appliance. Wash all parts except for the motor base. Caution! The blades are very sharp!

2. Place the motor housing on a flat surface. Ensure the speed selector is set to "0" before placing the jug on the motor base. Place the jug on the motor base, with handle on the right. Rotate clockwise until it locks. The blender is designed with a safety locking system. The blender will operate only if the jug or the grinder is locked correctly. Put the ingredients in the jug. (Do not exceed the maximum capacity indicated on the jug.) Processing hot liquids: Do not process hot liquid. Allow hot liquids to cool down until lukewarm (around 40oC) before filling the jug. Fill the jug only half full and start processing on low speed.

3. Close the lid and insert the measuring cup in the filler hole and lock into position. Do not operate the blender if the lid is not locked in.
4. Start the blender by turning the speed selector clockwise. Start at low speed, then progress to a higher speed if required. To use the PULSE function, turn the speed selector to PULSE position and release. For heavy load, please remove half of the contents and process them in 2 batches.
5. Ice crushing: Turn the speed selector to PULSE position and hold for 3-5 seconds several times until you obtain a satisfactory result. You can add more ice through the filler hole while the blender is running. The PULSE function allows greater control when blending, e.g. when chopping nuts or chocolates, or crushing ice.

USING THE GRINDER\*

The grinder ^* consists of a grinder bowl and a blade assembly. It can be used to chop nuts, dried fruit, bread crumbs, garlic, onions etc.

1. Make sure the unit is unplugged and the speed selector is set to "0" before placing the grinder on the motor base. Turn the grinder upside down and carefully remove the blade assembly by turning it anticlockwise. Fill the grinder bowl with the desired ingredients. Do not fill more than half full.
2. Attached the blade assembly to the grinder bowl by turning the blade assembly clockwise. NOTE: If it is not tightly attached together the blender will not work due to a safety mechanism.
3. Turn the grinder the right way up and lock into place on the motor base by turning clockwise. The triangle mark on the grinder should align with the lock mark on the grinder blade assembly. Plug in the appliance and select the desired speed setting. Caution! Do not operate the grinder continuously for more than 30 seconds. For better results, use the PULSE setting.

4. When the ingredients have been ground/chopped to the desired consistency, unplug the appliance, and remove the grinder from the appliance. NOTE: Do not remove the grinder bowl directly from the motor base as this will cause the ingredients to spill out and expose the blade assembly.

5. Turn the grinder upside down and carefully remove the blade assembly by turning it anti-clockwise. Remove the ingredients and wash the grinder bowl and blade assembly in soapy water immediately after use.

CLEANING AND CARE

1. Quick cleaning: Pour warm water into the jug up to 750ml, add a few drops of detergent. Replace the lid and operate the blender for a few seconds by turning the speed selector to the PULSE position briefly. Finally, remove the jug and rinse it under running water.

2. Thorough cleaning: Switch off the blender and unplug the power cord. Remove the jug from the motor base.

12a. Cleaning the motor base: Wipe the motor base with a damp cloth. Never immerse the motor base in water or clean it under running water!
12b. Cleaning the jug: Remove the lid and jug. Turn the blade assembly clockwise and remove it by pulling it down. Rinse the blade assembly in water and detergent. Caution! Handle carefully, the blades are very sharp!

The lid, jug and measuring cup can be washed in the dishwasher. Be careful when re-assembling the blade assembly. Please see "Getting started" section, no. 1 for instructions on blade assembly.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Symptom Cause Solution
The blender does not start.	The components are not fixed properly.	Check if all the components are properly locked into position.
	The speed selector is not on the right position.	Choose the appropriate speed. To use PULSE function, make sure the speed selector is on PULSE position.
	The jug is overfilled.	Reduce the content in the jug so you do not exceed the maximum level.
	The plug is not properly connected to the power outlet.	Check the connection of the plug to the outlet or try another outlet.
	Power outage. Wait until power outage is over.
	Functional problem. Contact authorized service center.
Contents leaks from the lid .	The jug is overfilled.	Reduce the content in the jug so you do not exceed the maximum level.
	The lid is not correctly positioned.	Lock the lid correctly on the blender jug.
Leak from the base of the blender jug.	The rubber seal is not positioned correctly or is missing.	Reposition the rubber seal on the blade assembly and lock it correctly onto the jug.
The blade does not turn easily.	Pieces of food too large or too hard.	Reduce the size or quantity of ingredients and add some liquid.
The blender stop suddenly during blending and could be restarted after a while	The loading is too heavy, motor protector activated.	Unplug and wait until the product to cool down for at least 10 minutes. Remove half of the ingredients then restart.
