Frequently Asked Questions - MCZ-85 MPM

How do I descale the kettle?
Fill the kettle with a mixture of water and vinegar or lemon juice (citric acid), or a descaling agent. Let it soak for an hour, then boil. Rinse thoroughly with cold water. Repeat if necessary. To eliminate vinegar smell, boil and discard water several times.
What is the capacity of the MPM MCZ-85 kettle?
The minimum capacity is 0.5 liters and the maximum capacity is 1.7 liters. Do not fill below the minimum or above the maximum level to avoid splashing.
Can I operate the kettle without water?
No, do not operate the kettle when empty. The kettle has an overheating protection that will automatically turn it off if it runs dry, but you should allow it to cool for 15 minutes before refilling.
How do I clean the filter?
Periodically remove the filter from the kettle, wash it in warm water with a detergent, and rinse it clean completely. Remove persistent dirt with a soft brush. Once cleaned and rinsed, reinstall the filter.
Why does my kettle turn off before the water boils?
If the kettle turns off prematurely, it may be due to limescale buildup. Descale the kettle regularly. Also, ensure the lid is closed properly and that the kettle is not overfilled.
Can I open the lid while the water is boiling?
No, never open the kettle lid during water boiling. The lid must be closed to prevent hot water splashes and ensure safe operation.
How to remove limescale from the kettle?
Use a descaling solution: fill with water and vinegar (1:2 ratio) or lemon juice, let it soak for an hour, then boil. Empty and rinse thoroughly. Repeat up to three times if needed.
Is the power cord detachable?
No, the power cord is not detachable. The kettle sits on a 360° swivel base, but the cord is permanently attached to the base.
What type of water can I use in the kettle?
Use tap water. For better taste and to reduce limescale, you may use filtered or bottled water. Avoid distilled or demineralized water as it may affect taste.
How do I reset the overheating protection?
If the kettle has turned off due to overheating (e.g., empty operation), unplug it and allow it to cool for at least 15 minutes. Then it can be used again normally.
