Frequently Asked Questions - Titanium Plus 6962 90000 Eta

What heat sources can I use with the Eta Titanium Plus 6962 pan?
The pan is suitable for gas, electric, and ceramic hob cooktops. It is not compatible with induction cooktops.
Can I use metal utensils with this pan?
No, you should only use wooden or plastic utensils. Metal tools can scratch and damage the non-stick coating.
How do I clean the pan after use?
The recommended method is heat shock: add cold water to the hot pan to release food residues, then pour out. Alternatively, let it cool and wipe with paper towel, or wash with mild detergent. Avoid dishwasher.
Is this pan oven-safe?
Yes, but caution is required. The plastic handle is only heat-resistant up to 220°C. If using in the oven, ensure the temperature does not exceed that limit.
What is the maximum temperature I can heat the pan to?
The maximum recommended temperature is 220°C for the non-stick coating and handle. Exceeding this can damage the pan.
Can I store food in the pan?
No, the pan is designed for cooking only. Do not store food in it, and do not refrigerate or freeze the pan with food inside.
Why does the bottom of my pan look discolored?
Some discoloration of the outer aluminum bottom is normal over time, especially if used on gas. This does not affect functionality and is not covered by warranty.
What should I do before first use?
Wash the pan in hot water with detergent, rinse, and dry. Then lightly grease the inner surface with oil and heat for 3–5 minutes (gas/electric) or 1–3 minutes (induction), then wipe clean.
Is the lid dishwasher safe?
The glass lid is not recommended for dishwasher due to potential thermal shock and scratching. Hand wash is advised.
How can I test if the pan is at the right cooking temperature?
Perform the water test: sprinkle a few drops of water onto the hot surface. If they form beads and evaporate quickly, the pan is at the correct temperature (170–180°C).

You have made the right decision to purchase this product. Every part of your kitchenware underwent a check during the production process. The core body of the dishes is made by the technology of gravitation or pressure casting from the compound of aluminum, silicon and magnesium which ensures optimum distribution of heat evenly in the whole dish. The inner part of pans is covered with three-layer antiadhesive system with double inner reinforcement while the first and the second layer contains of particles of titanium ceramics which prevents damage of the pan thanks to toughness and resistance to abrasion (valid for ETA 6940 and ETA 6955). The inner part of pans is covered with four-layer antiadhesive system with double inner reinforcement while the four and layer contains of particles of granitium which prevents damage of the pan thanks to toughness and resistance to abrasion (valid for ETA 6960 and ETA 6967). The bottoms of dishes are machined with special diamond tools in high revs. The bottom machined in this way ensures optimum transmission of heat between the heat source and food. Glass lids have strong shock resistance. The dish and the lid are equipped with a plastic handle which is resistant to the temperature of up to 220^ (invalid for ETA 6966 and ETA 6967).

Before the first use

Read the instructions for use carefully. For keeping the quality of the kitchenware, the following recommendations have to be complied with. Remove all packing material (including possible adhesive foil, adhesive labels, paper, etc.) from the surface and take out the kitchenware. Before the first use, wash the parts that will be in contact with food in hot water with detergent, rinse thoroughly with clean water and wipe till dry, or let dry. Fix the handle to the glass lid properly, see the figure. Use a napkin to spread fat or oil gently on the inner part, heat it lightly for about 3 to 5 minutes (gas / el. stove or glass ceramic cooktop), about 1-3 min (induction cooktop) and wipe again after heating.

Attention

Do not use the stove on maximum power with an empty utensil for a long time. It could lead to overheating and thus damaging the anti-adhesive coating. E.g. when using max. power (on gas / el. stove or glass ceramic cooktop) for longer than 8 – 10 min, the temperature of the utensil can rise up to 300 – 350 °C. Maximum recommended temperature for the anti-adhesive coating and handle is 220 °C.

Heat the dish thoroughly before each use for about 2 to 5 minutes to the temperature of 170 - 180^ C . To check the temperature we recommend carrying out water test when you spray a few drops of water to the dish that shatter in the proper temperature, they start to pearl and evaporate quickly. Then the dish has the proper temperature; put in the ingredients that you want to cook, bake or fry. Do not touch the dish while using (except for plastic handles) because it is HOT!

But if you use kitchenware in an oven (e.g. gas/electric/hot air), use protective gloves when handling (valit for ETA 6966 and ETA 6967)! Be specially careful and prevent children and incapable persons from touching the dish!

RECOMMENDATION

When using utensils in a gas and el. oven with top heating, we recommend placing the utensil as far from the heating spiral. Especially with older models of ovens, parts of the oven may overheat (280 – 320 °C) which may lead to exceeding the max. temperature of the handle on the lid (max. 220 °C). Overheating may cause unpleasant smell or cracking of the handle.

i

Use

The kitchenware can be used on any heat source – gas, electricity, ceramic hob. For gas we recommend using cast iron heat dispersing cooking plates for easier care for the silver bottom. After heating the dish to the proper temperature (150 – 180 °C, about 2 – 5 minutes, do the water test), put meat to the dish, fry it on the surface of a moment and then prepare the meat at the medium or lower temperature. You do not have to learn to cook in our kitchenware. You can cook in the way you are used to, you only learn how to operate the heat source. Do not overheat the kitchenware uselessly – you save energy and your own money! Big advantage of the dishes is that they do not absorb smells so you can cook, fry and bake in the same dish.

Warning

Use only round wooden and whole-plastic kitchenware. Do not use metal tools! Never overburn empty dishes uselessly, the upper organic layer could get damaged (degraded). A big advantage of the pan is its resistance to adhesion to the surface so any force in cooking is not necessary.

– Use in temperature up to max. 220 °C!

- Do not use for storing food. The utensils are designed for cooking, not for storing! Storing food may lead to peeling of the coating!

- Do not store the utensils with food in a fridge or a freezer!

- If the glass lid is hot, do not immerse it into cold water or do not wash it under stream of running cold water! Sudden change in temperature could cause damage to the lid (cracking). Make sure that scratching of the glass surface is prevented.

- Be careful when lifting the lid and always remove the lid away from your body.

- Do not place the container on a wooden table, lacquered surface or any other sensitive surface that can be damaged by heat if the container is hot.

- Never cut the processed food in the pot!

- In order to maintain optimal properties of the non-stick layer, do not use the appliance to prepare food wrapped in baking/parchment paper or aluminium foil.

- Small differences in the overall appearance are caused by the hand-making of the product, they have no effect on functionality or usability of the utensil. They are not a reason for the product to be returned.

Maintenance

Clean the appliance regularly after every use! Do not use rough or aggressive detergents (e.g. sharp objects, peelers, chemical solvents, thinning agents, caustic agents for cleaning ovens or other solvents)! After cooking non-fatty food, all you have to do is to wipe the dish with a paper towel. Generally there are three options how to clean:

  1. Put cold water to the heated dish. Food residues will be released, washed away and you can then pour out the whole contents (so called heat shock) = RECOMMENDED.
  2. Let the dish cool down a bit and wipe with a paper towel.
  3. Rinse the dish regularly with liquid detergent suitable for dish washing, you will avoid accumulation of fat and baking residues.
  4. We do not recommend washing the utensil in a dishwasher, the polished aluminium bottom could oxidize (it may turn black). This “flaw” has no effect on the functionality of the utensil and thus is not covered by the warranty.

It is common for the surface colour to change in time. This change, however, does not have any influence on the surface characteristics in any way and it cannot be subject to a complaint under warranty! This colouring usually disappears after some time.

Conclusion

This is the basic information of how to use the kitchenware effectively. You do not need any special cookery books for the kitchenware. The main thing is to learn how to cook using heat regulation and with the minimum level of the source. The rest only depends on your rich imagination.
