Before first use
- Removing the insulation strips
Note: The product is supplied with the battery already in place. Before first use pull the insulation strip out from between the battery and the battery compartment.
● Preparing for use
- Inserting the battery
See Fig 4 and 5.
☐ If the scales do not appear to work, check that the battery has been inserted correctly and reinsert it if necessary.
Note: The display indicates when it is time to replace the battery. When you step on to the scales and the battery is too weak, the LC display shows "Lo" (see Fig. C) and the scales switch off automatically.
☐ If you see this message, replace the exhausted battery with a new battery of the same type.
☐ When you insert the battery, make sure that the contacts do not get bent.
- Setting the units of weight
Note: The standard unit of weight is kilogram (kg). The factory default setting for the scales as supplied is "kg".
☐ Slide the kg / lb / st switch to select the unit of weight. The units will be displayed in the LC display as follows:
Kilogram (kg): see Figure A Pound (lb): see Figure E Stone (st): see Figure F
- Switching on your scales / measuring your weight
① Tip: Weigh yourself at the same time of day (preferably in the morning) after visiting the toilet, with an empty stomach and without clothing to ensure that your results are compatible.
Place the scales down on a solid, flat horizontal surface.
Step on to the scales.
Place even weight on each leg.
☐ If at all possible stand on the same areas of the
platform each time and do not move. Moving during the weighing process can lead to discrepancies in the results.
The scales will start to measure immediately. After blinking 2 times, the weight display will display the result, as shown in, for example, Fig. B.
Note: If the scales show "OL" (see Fig. D), it signals that the scales are overloaded. Observe the maximum capacity of 180 kg (396 lb / 28 st).
☐ Step off the platform. The scales switch off automatically after about 10 seconds. Until then the weight measurement remains visible.
Note: After a change of location and following every battery change, the scales must be re-calibrated. To do this, proceed as follows:
☐ Step onto the scales. The scales will show you an incorrect measuring result. Step off the platform. The scales will calibrate automatically.
☐ Wait until the scales switch off automatically.
☐ Step onto the scales once again. The scales will show you the correct measuring result.
