HOW TO USE YOUR TOASTER
Cleaning before first use
Before first use, make sure all packaging materials have been removed from the toaster. Check inside the toaster slots for any packaging material.
Before toasting bread, clean the toaster by running it at least two times at the highest setting without any bread.
Ventilate the room during this period.
Like all new electric heating elements, your toaster creates a new smell when it is first switched on. This is normal and not a cause for concern.
Toasting
- Make sure the Crumb Tray is in place and the Bread Carriage Lever is up.
- Place the toaster on a suitable flat surface and plug the power cord into a mains socket.
- Insert slices of bread into the slots.
- Turn the Browning Control to your desired level. 1 is the lowest setting and 6 is the highest setting.
- Press the Bread Carriage Lever down until it locks into position. (It only locks when the toaster is switched on at the mains.) The toaster will begin toasting.
- Your toast will pop up when it is done. To stop toasting earlier, press the Cancel button. To raise small pieces of toast out of the slot, gently pull the Bread Carriage Lever up.
- After use, unplug the toaster from the mains socket.
Note: If a slice sticks in the toaster, unplug the toaster and wait for it to cool. Gently dislodge the slice using a non-metallic object such as the handle of a wooden spoon. Take care not to touch the heating elements.
Reheating
The reheating feature lets you heat up cold toast without over-browning.
-
Insert the toast slices into the slots.
-
Press the Bread Carriage Lever down until it locks into position. Then press the Reheat button.
Defrosting
The defrosting feature increases the toasting time to let you toast frozen bread.
- Insert slices of frozen bread into the slots.
- Turn the Browning Control to your desired level.
- Press the Bread Carriage Lever down until it locks into position. Then press the Defrost button.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE:
- Always unplug the toaster and allow it to cool before cleaning.
- Do not use abrasive cleansers. Wipe the exterior with a clean damp cloth and dry thoroughly. Apply any cleaning agent to the cloth, not directly onto the toaster.
- To remove crumbs, slide out the crumb tray and discard the crumbs. Wipe clean and replace. Never operate the toaster without the crumb tray in place.
- To remove any pieces of bread remaining in the toaster, turn the toaster upside down and shake gently. Never insert any hard or sharp instrument into the slots as this could damage the toaster and cause a safety hazard.
- Never wrap the cord around the outsides of the toaster, use the cord storage cleats on the underside of the toaster.
