How to focus the Minox X-HD 8x44 binoculars?

First close your right eye and turn the central focus wheel to get a sharp image with the left eye. Then close your left eye and turn the right eyepiece adjustment ring (diopter compensation) to fine-tune sharpness with the right eye. For other distances, use only the central focus wheel.

How to use the binoculars with glasses?

Turn the eyecups to the right until they click (original position). This will keep your glasses far enough away from the eyepieces to see the full field of view.

How to adjust the interpupillary distance?

Look through both eyepieces and spread or bring the two barrels closer together until the two fields of view merge into a single image circle.

Can I mount the binoculars on a tripod?

Yes, remove the protective screw located under the binocular to access the thread, then screw on the Minox tripod adapter (optional, code 80405832). After use, screw the protective screw back in.

How to clean the binocular lenses?

First use a soft-bristle brush to remove dust and particles. For stubborn stains or fingerprints, use a special cloth and lens cleaning solution. The Minox optics cleaning kit (code 80405463) is recommended.

What to do if the binoculars have been exposed to sea water?

Rinse them with fresh water after use. Sea salt can damage the lenses and housing over time. Then dry them with a soft cloth.

How to find the serial number?

Turn the left eyepiece counterclockwise. The serial number is on the lower part of the eyepiece. Note it for customer service.

What is the warranty for the Minox X-HD 8x44 binoculars?

The legal warranty is 2 years from the date of purchase from an authorized dealer. You can extend the warranty by registering your product on the Minox website. The warranty covers manufacturing defects, but not damage due to improper use.

Can I look at the sun with these binoculars?

ADJUSTMENTS

Ideal for people wearing glasses

To ensure that people wearing glasses also have an optimal field of view MINOX binoculars are fitted with rotating eyecups.

For use without wearing glasses

Those who do not wear glasses must turn the eyecups at both eyepieces in counterclockwise direction until they engage in the extended position. The binoculars are now set at the correct distance to the eyes.

For use with glasses

Those who wear glasses must leave the rotating eyecups on both eyepieces in the original position (as delivered) or, if necessary, turn the eyecups clockwise until they noticeably engage. In this setting you can enjoy the entire field of view without disturbing interferences at the edges.

The right distance between the eyes

(Inter-pupillary distance)

Look into the eyepieces of your binoculars and adjust the angle of the hinged tubes until you have a singular circular image.

FOCUSING

For a pin-sharp image, definition you must adjust the optics of the binoculars to your individual vision. To do this, please proceed as follows:

1. First, look at an object far away. With the right eye closed, turn the focusing knob until the object in view has become perfectly sharp.
2. Next, look at the same object in the distance with the left eye closed and turn the diopter adjustment ring on the right eyepiece until the object is perfectly sharp.
3. Your MINOX binoculars are now set to the individual vision of both eyes.
4. To observe objects at various distances, use the focus adjustment knob to obtain a clear and sharp image.

Attention: Do not use binoculars to look into the sun, this could lead to irreparable eye damage.

ATTACHING A TRIPOD

For a shudder-free image, we recommend using a tripod, especially with binoculars with a higher magnification. The MINDX tripod adapter (order no. 80405832) is available as an optional accessory for this purpose.

Remove the screw cap (6) on the bottom of the binoculars and attach the MINDX tripod adapter into the screw socket. Keep the screw cap (6) in a safe place and reattach it after removing the tripod adapter.

MAINTENANCE AND CARE

To provide as much protection as possible for your MINOX product, it is strongly recommended to use the carrying case when storing your binoculars.

Carefully remove dirt and dust from the housing with a soft moist cloth. If your binoculars have been exposed to saltwater, thoroughly rinse them off with warm water and dry carefully as saltwater can be aggressive to the lenses, detrimentally affecting their optical quality.

Contamination of the lenses by foreign bodies like sand, dust, grease, waterdrops or fingerprints reduce the image quality of your MINOX binoculars. Foreign bodies should be carefully removed using a very soft brush before cleaning the Lenses. To avoid damage to the lens surfaces, it is strongly advisable to use specially developed optical cleaning materials to remove fingerprints, grease etc. from the lenses. We recommend using the MINOX optical cleaning set (order nr. 80405463).

SERIAL NUMBER

Turn the left eyecup counterclockwise to find the serial number on the underside of the ocular. It is important that you make a note of this number for the event of loss.

With the purchase of this MINOX riflescope you have acquired a product that has been manufactured and inspected in accordance with especially high quality standards. For this product, we provide a legal warranty of 2 years in accordance with the following regulations from the day of purchase at an authorized dealer:

During the warranty period we shall compensate complaints based on faulty manufacture with repair, replacement of defective parts or by replacement with an identical flawless product at our own discretion. Consequential claims, regardless of manner or legal argument in connection with this warranty, will not be accepted.

2. Claims under warranty are null and void If the defect has been caused by improper handling – which also can include the combined use of non MINDX accessories – If the MINDX product is serviced by unauthorized persons or workshops, or if the serial number has been made unreadable.
