Safety Instructions for Barbecue Grills
Before using this appliance, read the following safety instructions and the separately enclosed instruction manual very carefully.
Safety Instructions According to Standard
You may find the following warning symbol on the appliance:

WARNING: Hot Surface!
Risk of Burns!
During operation and afterwards, the temperature of the accessible surfaces can be very high.
- Therefore, only touch the appliance by the thermostat and the handles.
- Ensure that the power cable does not come into contact with hot parts of the appliance.

WARNING: Risk of Overheating!
- While the heating element is in operation, the grill tray must be filled with water. If necessary, top up the water to the MAX mark.
- Fill the grill tray with a maximum of 1 litre of water. Observe the MAX mark.
- In order to avoid overheating, this appliance shall not be covered by any solid or flexible materials such as aluminium trays, aluminium foil or trays made of other heat-resistant material. The use of such items or materials on the grill grate would reduce the safety of the appliance and could lead to serious damage to the appliance.
- The appliance is suitable for outdoor use. Only use the appliance outdoors in absolutely dry weather. Never leave the appliance outside after use.
- The supply cord should be regularly examined for signs of damage. If the supply cord is damaged, the appliance must not be used.
- The appliance must be supplied through a residual current device (RCD) having a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30 mA.
- The appliance is to be connected to a socket-outlet having an earthing contact.
- The appliance may only be operated with the supplied thermostat with mains cable. It must not be operated with any other thermostat.
- The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.
- Place the appliance on a level, heat-resistant surface.
- Keep a sufficient safety distance (30 cm) from easily flammable objects such as furniture, curtains, etc. The distance to a wall must be at least 15 cm.
- Charcoal or similar combustible fuels must not be used with this appliance.
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
• Children shall not play with the appliance. - Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
- This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:
- staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments.
It is not intended to be used in farm houses or by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments or bed and breakfast type environments.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

CAUTION:
This appliance is not intended to be immersed in water during cleaning. Various surfaces come into contact with food and oil. Follow the instructions we give you in the instruction manual in the chapter “Cleaning”.
General Safety Instructions
- The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not intended for commercial use.
- The appliance is suitable for conditional outdoor use. Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately.
- Always switch off the appliance and pull the mains plug out of the socket (pull the mains plug, not the cable) when you are not using the appliance, attaching accessories, for cleaning or in the event of a fault.
- Do not operate the appliance without supervision. If you leave the room you should always turn the appliance off. Remove the plug from the socket.
- The appliance and the mains lead have to be checked regularly for signs of damage. If damage is found the appliance must not be used.
- Do not repair the appliance by yourself. Always contact an authorized technician.
- Only use original accessories.
- In order to ensure your children's safety, please keep all packaging (plastic bags, boxes, polystyrene etc.) out of their reach.

Do not allow small children to play with the plastic foil. There is a danger of suffocation!
