How to use the Haier HAF3AFW 011 air fryer for the first time?

Before first use, remove all packaging and stickers. Clean the basket, tray, and divider with hot water, then wipe the inside and outside with a damp cloth. Place the appliance on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Plug it in, then select a program or manually set the temperature and time. No preheating is required.

What cooking programs are available?

The appliance offers 8 preset programs: Air Fry, Grill, Roast, Bake, Low Temp (low-temperature cooking), Defrost (defrosting), Dry (dehydrating) and Reheat (reheating). You can also use manual mode to freely adjust temperature and time.

Do I need to add oil to the fryer?

No, the air fryer works with hot air circulating at high speed. You do not need to add oil or fat. For crispier food, you can spray a little oil, but it is not mandatory.

What if white smoke comes out of the appliance?

White smoke may appear if you cook fatty foods or if there are grease residues from a previous use. Remove excess oil from food and clean the basket thoroughly after each use. If smoke persists, check that the basket is inserted correctly.

How to clean the basket and accessories?

The basket, frying tray, and removable divider are all dishwasher safe. You can also wash them with hot water and liquid soap using a non-abrasive sponge. Never use metal tools or abrasive materials that could damage the non-stick coating. The main body is cleaned with a damp cloth.

Why isn't the food cooked evenly?

Make sure not to overfill the basket: food should be in a single layer. During cooking, the appliance emits an alert (5 beeps) at 2/3 of the time to prompt you to shake or turn the food. If you ignore the alert, cooking continues automatically after 10 seconds.

What do error codes E-1 and E-2 mean?

Code E-1 indicates that the temperature sensor is disconnected, and code E-2 indicates it is short-circuited. In both cases, unplug the appliance and contact Haier customer service for repair.

Can I schedule cooking in advance?

Yes, the appliance has a timer function. Place food in the basket, press the timer button, set the desired temperature and time, then press Start. Cooking will start automatically at the scheduled time.

How to use the keep warm function?

After cooking, press the keep warm button. You can adjust the temperature (default 60 °C) and duration (default 30 min). Press Start to activate. This keeps food warm without overcooking.

Is the appliance compatible with the hOn app?

Yes, you can connect the fryer to the hOn app via your smartphone. Scan the QR code in the manual, download the app, then follow the instructions to add the appliance. This allows remote control and additional recipes.

This appliance is intended for domestic and indoor use only as described in this user guide. Please ensure that this guide is fully understood before operating the appliance.

This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 years and supervised.

Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.

If the power cord is damaged stop using the appliance immediately. To avoid a safety hazard, an authorised Haier service engineer must replace the power cord.

Use only attachments, consumables or spares recommended or supplied by Haier. The use of accessories or attachments not recommended by Haier may cause injuries.

Only use the appliance in accordance with the power specification on the rating plate.

WARNING Risk of scalding! Never touch the inside of the appliance while in use and after operation. The heating element is subject to residual heat after use. Please always use the handle to carry the basket.

Only extract the basket while resting flat on a counter (or any level, heat-resistant surface).

Do not block any ventilation openings. Hot steam is released through air outlets. Keep your hands and face away from the hot steam and openings. Also be careful of hot steam and air when you remove the basket from the appliance.

Do not operate the appliance by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.

Do not let any water or other liquid enter the appliance to prevent electric shock.

Do not pull or carry the appliance by the power cord. Always unplug the appliance from the socket by pulling the plug instead of the cord. Do not place the power cord over sharp edges or near hot surfaces. Do not use an extension cord.

Do not plug in the appliance or operate it with wet hands.

Never immerse the appliance, cord, plug or main unit in water or other liquid.

Risk of fire! The food may burn, therefore do not use the appliance near or below combustible material, such as curtains.

The tray, the basket and the divider inside the appliance become hot during use. Be careful when you handle them.

Do not overfill above the maximum line indicated in the basket. Prevent food from touch with heating elements. Excessive or oversized food, paper, carboard, plastic or metal foil packages must not be cooked which may cause risk of fire.

Use the recommended cooking time for food, excessive cooking time could lead the food to burn.

Only connect the appliance to an earthed wall socket. Always make sure that the plug is inserted into the wall socket properly.

Use on worktop only. Do not place the appliance near the edge of a worktop.

Do not operate the appliance on an inclined surface and move it when working.

Do not operate the appliance without basket installed.

Do not leave the appliance unattended while in use.

Keep extreme caution when using an appliance which contains hot oil or other hot liquid.

Allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning or any maintenance.

Regularly clean the basket, otherwise the residue stuck to it may smoke or burn.

3. BEFORE FIRST USE

1. Remove all packing materials and any stickers or labels (if available) from the appliance.
2. Thoroughly clean the basket with warm water. Clean the inside and outside of the air fryer with a moist cloth. Dry with a towel.
3. Place the appliance on a stable, horizontal, level and heat-resistant Surface.

NOTE:

- During the first times of using your new Air Fryer, there may be a “hot plastic” smell.

It's quite normal for the new Air Fryer, because the material is heated first time. It will go away after several uses.

• This is an Air Fryer that works on hot air. Do not fill the frying bucket with oil, frying fat or any other liquid.
• This appliance may produce some smoke when you use it for the first time. This is normal.
• Preheating of the appliance is not necessary.

4. USING YOUR AIR FRYER

Extract the power cord and plug into the power supply.

Before placing the ingredients in the frying basket, place the frying plate in the frying basket first [1,2]. Arrange food in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Press ON/OFF Button “ ⏻ ” to switch the product on [3], all LEDs will light [4].

Press the Menu Button “≡” to select the program needed [5]. You can press Temperature/Time Button “%” to adjust temperature or time, and hold press “+” and “—” to speed up the adjustment temperature or timing [6,7]. Then press Start/Pause Button “▶” [8] to start the cooking process [9].

Please refer to Menu for the presets of different menus (Page 3).

SHAKE ALERT

When reaching 2/3 of the cooking time the Display and the Start/Pause Button “DII” blinks, with 5 audible beeps, and this is an alert for you to shake the food for even cooking [10]. You can open the frying basket [11] to turn the food [12] and, after shaking it, you can put the frying basket inside again to restart and complete the cooking [13]. You can also ignore it and after 10 seconds, the machine will continue to work automatically.

When the cooking process is complete, the buzzer sounds three times, display shows “OFF” and the appliance switches off automatically [14,15].

During the cooking, you can press Temperature/Time Button “%” to adjust temperature or time. You can hold press “+” and “—” to speed up the adjustment temperature or time. The temperature adjustment index is 5°C, time adjustment index is 1min [16,17,18,19].

At any time during the cooking, you could press Start/Pause Button “▶” to pause the cooking process.

When the product is in operation, paused, held warm or scheduled, press the “×” button to return it to standby mode. Then the “×” button light will go out.

At any time during cooking, you can pull out frying basket to check the ingredients state and put it back to resume work.

5. COOKING BASKET LIGHT FUNCTION

After starting the appliance, if needed, press the Light Button “ 🔍 ” then light illuminates.

Press Light Button “💡” again to turn it off.

NOTE:

Light automatically turns off after 60 seconds of inactivity (Page 7).

6. TIMER FUNCTION

Put the ingredients in the air fryer in advance and set the scheduled time. When the time is up, it will run automatically without the need for secondary operation.

1. Press the Timer Button “L”.

2. If needed, press Temperature/Time Button “ %” to adjust temperature and time.

3. Press Start/Pause Button “▷||” to activate timer function.

7. KEEP WARM FUNCTION

After the food is cooked, the heat preservation function will help you keep the dishes warm and prevent them from getting cold.

1. Press the Keep Warm Button “###”.

2. If needed, adjust the temperature.

3. If needed, adjust the timing.

4. Press Start/Pause Button “▷||” to activate keep-warm mode.

8. CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

WARNING:

Always unplug the appliance from the power source and let it cool down before cleaning.

The frying basket, the frying plate and the removable divider have a non-stick coating. Do not use metal kitchen utensils or abrasive cleaning materials, as this may damage the non-stick coating.

Dry before the next use and clean the appliance after every time.

1. Frying basket can be cleaned in the dishwasher or with hot water, dishwasher liquid soap and a non-abrasive sponge (Page 8).
2. Frying plate and removable divider can be cleaned in the dishwasher or with hot water with dishwasher liquid soap and a non-abrasive sponge (Page 8).

To avoid water marking, ensure all parts are completely dry after washing using a soft cloth.

1. For the main body, you can use a non-abrasive sponge or soft cloth to clean (Page 8).
2. Clean the inside of the appliance with hot water and a non-abrasive sponge.
3. Clean the heating element with a cleaning brush to remove any food residues. Wipe the outside of the appliance with a moist cloth, if necessary.
4. Dry before next use.

9. CONNECT TO "hOn" APP

1. You can connect this product with other products using the hOn app.
2. Scan the QR code, download and install hOn app. Users who have already installed hOn app will directly enter the device connection page.
3. If you don't have the hOn app, you can find it on your app store. Then you can download it and use. You can continue with the following "Open the home page of hOn app, click "+" in the upper right corner of the page and add devices as prompted by the app."

11. TROUBLESHOOTING

The Air fryer does not work.	The appliance is not plugged in.	Check if the plug is inserted in the wall socket.
	The frying basket is not put into the appliance properly.	Push the basket securely into the appliance's body.
White smoke comes out of the appliance.	You are cooking fatty ingredients.	Carefully pour off any excess oil or fat from the pan and then continue cooking.
	The basket still contains greasy residues from previous use.	Always clean the basket thoroughly after every use.
Food is not completely cooked.	The set temperature is too low or cooking time is too short.	Increase the cooking temperature and the cooking time.
	Too much ingredients in the basket.	Decrease or place less batches of ingredients into the basket for even cooking.
The Display shows error code “E-1”	The temperature sensor is disconnected.	Unplug it from the power source and contact the customer support.
The Display shows error code “E-2”	The temperature sensor short circuit.	Unplug it from the power source and contact the customer support.
