  • Make sure the grill plate, thermostat and all parts are completely dry before use.
  • Never submerge the appliance, the electric cord or the plug into water or another liquid.
  • Do not use chemicals, abrasives or steel wool to clean the non-stick plate or other parts of the appliance.
  • When using the appliance for the first time there may be a slight smell and light smoke from the baking plates. This is normal.

USE

Place the Plancha Grill on your counter or in the middle of the table. Make sure the appliance is stable on a dry, flat surface and ensure there is adequate ventilation.

  1. Insert the adjustable thermostat into the designated connector on the side of the grill plate.

  2. Only use the appliance with the supplied thermostat.

  3. Always connect the adjustable thermostat before plugging in the appliance and make sure the thermostat knob is set to 'OFF'.
    • Always ensure that the adjustable thermostat and connector are completely dry before plugging in the appliance.

  4. Place the grease collection tray in its housing.

  5. Put the mains plug in the wall socket.

  6. Turn the thermostat to the required position. The indicator lamp will turn on indicating that the grill plate is heating up.

The thermostat allows you to select 5 heating modes:

MODETEMPERATURESUITABLE FOR
OFF 0°CThe appliance is switched off
1 120°CKeeping warm (slow heating)
2 150°CReheating
3 180°CFrying vegetables, tender seafood (e.g. squid), eggs
4 205°CFrying minced meat, thinly sliced meat and fish, seafood, flatbread (e.g. pita bread)
5 230°CFrying meat and fish of a standard thickness (e.g. steak, sirloin steak, salmon steak)

The ambient temperature may affect the temperatures listed above by as much as 20 °C.
⚠️ Never fry eggs at a thermostat setting higher than 3. A higher setting when frying eggs may damage the non-stick coating.

  1. The indicator lamp will go out when the grill plate reaches the set temperature. You can now start frying/grilling.

  2. The indicator lamp is on when the appliance is heating up. So the light turns on and off periodically when the appliance is maintaining the set temperature. If you increase the temperature setting, the indicator lamp will turn on until the appliance reaches the desired temperature.

  3. Use only wooden or thermoplastic utensils to prepare food. Never use metal objects as these can damage the non-stick coating.

  4. After use, turn the thermostat to the "OFF" position. Remove the mains plug from the wall socket. Allow the appliance to cool down completely. Before cleaning the appliance, press the adjustable thermostat release to remove it.

NOTES

  • Defrost frozen food before putting it on the baking tray. For best results, food should be at room temperature before frying/grilling.
  • You don't need to use oil or fat on the grill plate because it has a non-stick coating.
  • For healthier cooking and to prevent oil/fat spattering as much as possible, use a wooden or thermoplastic spatula to swipe the grease and juices on the grill plate into the drain channel.

These juices are collected in the collection tray, which must be emptied and washed after each use.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  • Always clean the appliance after use to prevent accumulation and food and fat residues from baking onto the surface.
  • It is recommended that all food residues be removed with a wooden or thermoplastic spatulawhile the appliance is still hot. If the residues dry up, they will be harder to remove.
  • After use, turn the thermostat to the "OFF" position. Remove the mains plug from the wall socket and wait until the appliance has cooled down completely. Disconnect the adjustable thermostat from the appliance.
  • Remove the grease collection tray. Clean it in hot water using a mild detergent. Rinse and dry. The grease collection tray is dishwasher safe.
  • Wipe the grill plate with a soft damp cloth to remove food residues. Then wash the grill plate with a soft sponge or nylon brush and mild detergent. Rinse gently and dry carefully.
  • Wipe the adjustable thermostat, the outside of the appliance and clean the gutter around the grill plate carefully with a soft, damp cloth.
