Turning on the appliance controls to OFF will disable the appliance cooling system but does not disconnect the power to the light bulb and other electrical components. To turn off power to the appliance you must unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet.

3. INSTALLATION

This User Manual provides general installation and operating instructions for your model. We recommend using a service or kitchen contracting professional to install your appliance. Use the appliance only as instructed in this User Manual. Before starting the appliance, follow these important first steps.

3.1 Location

  • Choose a place that is near a grounded, non-GFCI, electrical outlet. Do not use an extension cord or an adapter plug.
    If possible, place the appliance out of direct sunlight and away from the range, dishwasher, or other heat sources.
  • The appliance must be installed on a floor that is level and strong enough to support a fully loaded appliance.

NOTE

The exterior walls of the appliance may become warm as the compressor transfers heat from the inside. The temperatures may be even 30^ higher than the room temperature. In hotter climates it is important to allow enough space for air circulation around the appliance.

If you place the appliance with the door hinge side against a wall, you may have to allow additional space so the door can be open wider.

3.2 Leveling

When positioning the appliance, ensure that it is level, with all bottom corners resting firmly on a solid floor. You can adjust this using the two leveling feet located at the front bottom of the appliance.

4. DOOR REMOVAL AND REVERSAL

4.1 Door removal/reversal

Tools required: PhillipsTM and flat head screwdrivers, hexagonal spanner.

Two people should assemble the appliance.

  • Ensure the appliance is unplugged and empty.
  • To take the door off, tilt the appliance backwards. Rest it on something solid so it will not slip during the door reversing process.
  • Save all parts to reinstall the door.
  • To prevent damaging the coolant system, do not lay the appliance flat.

  • Remove the top hinge cover from the top right side of your freezer.

  1. Remove the screws that secure the top right hinge to the door, then remove the hinge.

  1. Move the hole cover from the top left side of the door to the top right side.

  2. Remove both leveling feet and the bottom hinge bracket from the bottom of your freezer.

  3. Remove the freezer door from the freezer by lifting it off the bottom hinge pin, then rest it on a pad to prevent scratching or damage.

  4. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the right side hinge component from the bottom right side of the door.

  5. Remove the bottom hinge pin from the bottom hinge bracket, rotate the hinge bracket 180 degrees clockwise, and replace the bottom hinge pin into the bottom hinge bracket.

  6. Take the left-side hinge component out of the accessory bag, then use a Phillips head screwdriver to install it on the bottom left side of the door.

  7. Install the bottom hinge bracket on the left bottom of your freezer, then replace both leveling feet. Do not fully tighten the bottom hinge bracket at this time.

  1. Replace the freezer door onto the bottom hinge pin and align it vertically and horizontally so that the gaskets make a good seal all around the door.
  2. Install the upper hinge bracket with the upper hinge pin inserted into the hole in the top of the door. Tighten the screws so that the door is secure.

  1. Replace the top hinge cover onto the left side of your freezer, then replace the top screw hole cover onto the top right side.

  1. With the door closed, make sure that door is aligned horizontally and vertically with the freezer cabinet and that the gasket makes a good seal. When everything is in proper alignment, tighten the bottom hinge bracket.
  2. Readjust the leveling feet as necessary.

5. CONTROL LOGIC

CAUTION!

  • If you run your freezer in an ambient temperature below 50^ F, it may not operate consistently. For example, the freezer temperature may become too warm and the contents may defrost.
  • Internal temperatures can vary based on the location of your freezer, the ambient room temperature, and how often you open the doors.
  • Do not store carbonated drinks in the freezer compartment. They may break and damage your freezer.
  • Do not exceed the storage times recommended by the food manufacturers for any kind of food.

Before storing foods in your freezer, turn on the freezer and freezer compartments, then wait for 24 hours to make sure that they are working correctly and to let both compartments reach the correct temperatures.

Plug your freezer into a power outlet, then adjust the interior temperature with the temperature control knob. The following should be considered when you are making adjustments:

The temperature control knob should not be turned clockwise past the Freezer setting, or damage could result.

The temperature control is located inside the freezer on the back wall. The temperature is factory preset to the medium setting of Freezer mode to provide satisfactory food storage temperatures. However, the temperature control is adjustable to provide a range of temperatures for your personal satisfaction.

To adjust temperature settings, turn the control clockwise. Allow several hours for temperatures to stabilize between adjustments. Approximate temperature ranges for each mode are listed below.

6. LIMITED WARRANTY

Your appliance is covered by a one year limited warranty. For one year from your date of delivery, Electrolux will pay all costs for repairing or replacing any parts of this appliance that prove to be defective in materials or workmanship when such appliance is installed, used and maintained in accordance with the provided instructions.

Exclusions

This warranty does not cover the following:

  1. Products with original serial numbers that have been removed, altered or cannot be readily determined.
  2. Product that has been transferred from its original owner to another party or removed outside the USA or Canada.
  3. Rust on the interior or exterior of the unit.
  4. Products purchased "as-is" are not covered by this warranty.
  5. Food loss due to any refrigerator or freezer failures.
  6. Products used in a commercial setting.
  7. Service calls which do not involve malfunction or defects in materials or workmanship, or for appliances not in ordinary household use or used other than in accordance with the provided instructions.
  8. Service calls to correct the installation of your appliance or to instruct you how to use your appliance.
  9. Expenses for making the appliance accessible for servicing, such as removal of trim, cupboards, shelves, etc., which are not a part of the appliance when it is shipped from the factory.
  10. Service calls to repair or replace appliance light bulbs, air filters, water filters, other consumables, or knobs, handles, or other cosmetic parts.
  11. Surcharges including, but not limited to, any after hour, weekend, or holiday service calls, tolls, ferry trip charges, or mileage expense for service calls to remote areas, including the state of Alaska.

installation, including but not limited to floors, cabinets, walls, etc.

Damages caused by: services performed by unauthorized service companies; use of parts other than genuine Electrolux parts or parts obtained from persons other than authorized service companies; or external causes such as abuse, misuse, inadequate power supply, accidents, fires, or acts of God.
