The manual suggests a total of 6 hours of cell operation per day. For example, if the pump runs 24/24, set production to 25%; if it runs 8/24, set to 75%.

How to clean the chlorination cell?

Turn off pump and remove cell. Inspect calcium deposits. Prepare a solution of 4 parts water to 1 part muriatic acid (always acid into water). Pour into cell, let sit 15 minutes, then drain. Rinse and reassemble. Wear eye protection and gloves.

ASSEMBLY PRECAUTIONS

1. Assemble only according to these instructions. Improper assembly can create hazards.
2. Wear ANSI-approved safety goggles and heavy-duty work gloves during assembly.
3. Keep the assembly area clean and well-lit.
4. Keep bystanders out of the area during assembly.
5. Do not assemble when tired or when under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication.
6. The product capabilities apply to properly and completely assembled products only.
7. Assemble on a flat, level, hard and smooth surface capable of safely supporting the Salt Water Chlorination System.
8. For additional information regarding the parts listed in the following pages, please refer to the Assembly Diagram of this manual. Unwrap and separate all parts in a clean work area.

USE PRECAUTIONS

1. Note: The total working hours for the salt cell suggest be less than 8 hours total per day.
2. If you are using a variable speed pump 24 hours a day, make sure it adjust the chlorine output to 25-30%.
3. If the pump is only running 10 hours per day, make sure to adjust the chlorine output between 60-80%.
4. You can use this calculation to determine the appropriate chlorine output for your pool, suggesting 6 hours of operation per day. Pump running 24(Hours a day)*25%(Chlorine Output)=6hr (cell run time per day at 25%). Pump running 20(Hours a day)*30%(Chlorine Output)=6hr (cell run time per day at 30%). Pump running 15(Hours a day)*40%(Chlorine Output)=6hr (cell run time per day at 40%). Pump running 12(Hours a day)*50%(Chlorine Output)=6hr (cell run time per day at 50%). Pump running 8(Hours a day)*75%(Chlorine Output)=6hr (cell run time per day at 75%).
5. Start the VS pump on a low speed and kick the speed up until the system works.
6. This product is not a toy. Do not allow children to play with or near item.
7. Use as intended only.
8. Inspect before every use; do not use if parts are loose or damaged.

ASSEMBLY STEPS

STEP 1

Remove the old Cell from the plumbing by loosening the threaded collars on both ends of the Cell. Disconnect the Cell Cord from the control panel.

IMPORTANT: ALWAYS MAKE SURE THE INPUT POWER IS COMPLETELY DISCONNECTED AND ALL POOL EQUIPMENT IS SHUT OFF BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY SERVICE PROCEDURES. ALL SERVICE SHOULD BE PERFORMED BY A QUALIFIED PROFESSIONAL.

STEP 2

Inspect the O-Rings on the plumbing unions. If damaged or worn, replace before installing the new Cell.

STEP 3

Position the new replacement Cell between the plumbing unions. Tighten the two threaded collars by hand for a water-tight seal, do not over-tighten. Plug the Cell Cord into the control panel.

Once power is restored to the control panel (concurrently with the pump and filter), the system can now be operated as instructed in the original manufacturer's product manual.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

The Cell operates in the same way as your original Cell. As with your system, it may occasionally be necessary to remove the mineral deposits which can form inside. Cleaning frequency is entirely dependent on your pool's water chemistry, which depending on environment and chemicals added, can change to become more or less scale forming.

See below for cleaning procedures:

1. Turn Pump Off & Remove Cell.

Holding the cell up to a light source, inspect for calcium deposits. Even if the Cell appears clean, it may still require cleaning if salt accuracy is off AND/OR chlorine production has diminished.

2. Install the clean base.

The cells are mounted on a clean base dedicated to the original manufacturer (the clean base needs to be purchased separately). Place the cells to be cleaned upright.

3. Mix: 4 Parts H2O / 1 Part Muriatic Acid

You use muriatic acid to clean the deposits off the filters in the salt cell. However, you must dilute it because straight muriatic acid is too strong. Pour water in a clean bucket that's easy to pour from. Add muriatic acid to the bucket, starting with 4 parts water to one part acid.

NOTE:

1) NEVER ADD WATER TO ACID. ALWAYS ADD THE ACID TO THE WATER.

2) WHILE OCCASIONAL CLEANING OF A CELL IS ACCEPTABLE, IT'S BEST TO ONLY DO SO WHEN REQUIRED. WHILE THE ACID DOES REMOVE ANY SCALE, IT ALSO DAMAGES THE PLATES INSIDE OF THE CELL ITSELF, THUS REDUCING THE LIFE.

3) ALWAYS WEAR PROPER EYE PROTECTION AND PROTECTIVE GLOVES.

4) MIX SOLUTION AND CLEAN CELL ONLY IN A WELL-VENTILATED AREA.

5) MURIATIC AND OTHER ACIDS CAN CAUSE SEVERE INJURY, BURNS, AND RESPIRATORY PROBLEMS IF NOT HANDLED PROPERLY.

6) REFER TO THE MANUFACTURER'S DIRECTIONS FOR SAFE HANDLING.

4. Carefully Pour Solution into Cell

Carefully pour the solution into the cell until it reaches the top. The solution should remain in the cell for 15-minute intervals until the reaction is completed. Carefully, pour solution back into an approved container. The cell cleaning solution may be reused a few times. When the solution is depleted, follow the manufacturer's instructions for proper disposal.
