How to assemble the distillation apparatus?

First assemble the iron stands, place the alcohol burner on the base, install the circular ring with wire gauze, then fix the flask clamp to hold the flask. Connect the coil condenser and separating funnel according to the diagram. Ensure all joints are sealed using vacuum grease.

What is the maximum achievable temperature?

The provided thermometer measures up to 100 °C. The alcohol burner can heat beyond that, but the borosilicate glass flask withstands temperatures up to about 500 °C. However, for safety reasons, do not exceed recommended usage ranges.

How to clean the flask after use?

Use the provided flask brush to scrub the inside with warm water and mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly with distilled water and dry. For stubborn residues, soak in a glass cleaning solution.

Can I use a different heat source instead of the alcohol burner?

It is not recommended to use a hotplate or stronger direct flame, as the glass flask could break under excessive heat. The alcohol burner is designed to provide moderate, controlled heat. If you must use another heat source, ensure it is compatible with borosilicate glass.

How to replace a broken glass part?

Contact Vevor support at www.vevor.com/support to order spare parts. Identify the part number in the manual. Wear protective gloves when handling glass shards and dispose of waste safely.

Is this apparatus suitable for distilling essential oils?

Yes, the YHEO-3 can be used for distilling essential oils from plants. Be careful not to overload the flask and control the temperature to avoid degradation of volatile compounds. Using a water bath can help regulate the heat.

What are the main safety instructions?

Always wear safety glasses and gloves. Assemble the apparatus on a flat, stable surface. Never leave the burner unattended. Keep the apparatus out of reach of children. Inspect glass parts before each use and do not use if cracked.

How to use the thermometer correctly?

Insert the thermometer into the rubber stopper, then place the stopper into the flask neck. The probe should be slightly above the liquid level (not touching it) to measure the vapor temperature. Wait for the temperature to stabilize before reading.

What if rubber joints are no longer airtight?

Replace worn rubber stoppers with new ones (available in accessories or on the Vevor website). Apply vacuum grease to contact areas to improve sealing. Do not use regular lubricating oil.

OPERATION

1. Assemble the iron support stand;

1. Place alcohol burner;

1. Install the circular ring and place the terracotta net on the circular ring;

1. Install the cross clamp and flask clamp at the appropriate height;

1. Install the flask;

1. Install the coil condenser and fix it with the flask clamp;

1. Install the horn tube;

1. Install the circular ring at the appropriate height of the iron support stand, and place the pear-shaped separatory funnel on it, then place a beaker below the outlet of the pear-shaped separatory funnel;

1. Screw the thermometer into the rubber plug and install the rubber in the mouth of the flask.
