Frequently Asked Questions - LD-J140 Vevor

What is the Vevor LD-J140 manikin used for?
This training manikin is designed for infant first aid training, specifically for managing airway obstructions (choking) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). It allows simulation of techniques such as back blows and chest thrusts.
What are the main features of the LD-J140 model?
It features normal airway obstruction, standard CPR operation (rescue breaths and chest compressions), chest rise when airway is clear, foreign body choking simulation, actual infant size, and accurate anatomical structure with palpable sternum and ribs.
How to clean the manikin?
Use mild detergent to remove minor stains. Do not use alcohol, benzene or other substances that may damage the product.
What parts are included in the kit?
The kit includes a rib simulator, a lung simulation (package of 4 pieces), 24 foreign body imitation sponges, 10 disposable PVC barrier masks, and a storage bag.
How to perform back blows on this manikin?
Place the manikin astride your forearm, in a prone position, with the head lower than the trunk. Secure the head and arm on your thigh. With the other hand, strike 4 to 6 times between the shoulder blades with the palm. This increases internal airway pressure to expel the foreign body.
How to perform chest thrusts on the manikin?
Place the manikin in a supine position on your forearm, with the head slightly lower than the trunk. Use two fingers to press 4 to 6 times between the nipples, on the midline of the sternum, one finger width below the nipple line.
What first aid techniques are simulated?
The techniques include back blows (back slapping), chest thrusts (two-finger compressions), and full CPR with mouth-to-mouth or mouth-to-nose rescue breathing after opening the airway using the head-tilt chin-lift method.
Where can I find technical support and warranty?
Technical support and the electronic warranty certificate are available on the website www.vevor.com/support.
How to check if the manikin simulates choking?
Use a disposable PVC barrier mask to give rescue breaths. If the chest does not rise, it indicates airway obstruction. You can then insert a black sponge into the mouth to simulate a foreign body and practice dislodgement techniques.
What materials are the manikin made of?
The head, hands, and feet are made of thermoplastic skin (elastomer blend). The neck shell, chin, and chest compression mechanism are made of injection-molded ABS. The torso is cotton and polyester. The whole is designed to be realistic and durable.

INSTRUCTIONS

The infant choking model, commonly known as the infant airway obstruction CPR model, was designed according to the principle of infant airway foreign body obstruction. It has the characteristics of perfect shape, advanced function, careful material selection, and realistic operation.

The skin of the head, hands, and feet is made of imported thermoplastic elastomer mixed plastic materials, using stainless steel molds and high-temperature injection molding. The head, neck, jaw, and chest compression mechanism are made of imported ABS material, also injection molded. The trunk is made of cotton and polyester fabrics, providing an accurate, realistic feel, realistic shape, beautiful appearance, and durability.

The product can be used for first aid procedures on children. It is designed based on pediatric anatomical features and physiological characteristics, suitable for emergency treatment of tracheal foreign bodies.

Tracheal foreign body is common in infants and young children. Because the infant's epiglottis function is not perfect, and while talking, laughing, crying, or engaging in vigorous activity, it is easy to aspirate objects from the mouth into the trachea, leading to asphyxiation caused by airway obstruction.

Features:

  1. Simulates normal airway obstruction;
  2. Standard CPR operation: artificial respiration and cardiac compression;
  3. Chest expansion when the airway is used to pass;
  4. Simulates choking and foreign body airway obstruction;

Real scale of the standard infant and the accurate standard layout;

  1. the precise anatomic structure, palpable sternum and ribs.

First Aid:

  1. Back blow: Place the child straddling and prone on the rescuer's arm, with the head lower than the trunk. Fix the head and arm on the rescuer's thigh. With the other hand, deliver forceful blows to the child's back between the shoulder blades 4-6 times. This sudden increase in intrathoracic pressure helps to loosen the foreign body and expel it.
  2. Chest thrusts: Place the child in a supine position, holding the fist arm bent with the head slightly lower than the trunk. Using two fingers, press on the sternum at the midpoint between the nipples, at the junction with the transverse finger, 4-6 times. If necessary, alternate the above methods until the foreign body is expelled or the child loses consciousness.

How to use:

First, check if the infant model is choking.

Inspection method: Take a piece of disposable PVC, disinfect it, and place it over the face of the analog baby. Perform mouth-to-nose and mouth-to-mouth artificial respiration, using the head-tilt/chin-lift method to open the airway, without hyperextending the head. If, during artificial respiration, the child's chest rises and falls, there is no choking; proceed with chest compression resuscitation. If the analog baby's chest does not rise and fall, it indicates airway obstruction, and the following treatment procedures should be followed:

  1. First, insert the foreign body (black sponge) into the mouth of the analog infant to simulate an airway obstruction.
  2. Then, place the analog baby straddling the side of the forearm, with the palm being

neck, to the mandibular angle. Fix the analog baby with the other hand, making the baby's head slightly thrown back to open the airway.

  1. Place the baby in a prone position on your forearm. Use the palm of your hand to perform back blows between the baby's shoulder blades. Check the mouth for any foreign objects (such as a black sponge) and if present, remove it with your fingers.
  2. Alternatively, place the baby on your forearm and secure the CPR manikin. Turn the baby to a supine position. Using two thumbs, press quickly and forcefully on the chest at the nipple line 4 times. Check the mouth for foreign objects (such as a black sponge) and if present, remove it with your fingers.
  3. If the obstruction is not expelled, repeat the back blows and chest thrusts several times.
