Read the safety instructions carefully and use the item only as described in this manual, to avoid inadvertent injury or damage. Store this manual for future reference. When transferring the item, these instructions are to be included.

Intended purpose

The item is suitable for use in dry indoor areas. This item is designed exclusively for private use and is not suitable for commercial application.

HAZARD to children

• This item is not a toy. Keep children away from the item.
- Keep children away from the packaging materials. There is a risk of suffocation.

WARNING against eye damage / fire

• Never use the magnifying glass to look directly at the sun! Danger of blindness!
- Fire hazardous! Do not expose the magnifying glass to direct sunlight. The magnifying glass can bundle the energy of the sun's rays and thereby heat combustible material, causing fires.

CAUTION - risk of injury and property damage

• The magnifying glass is fragile. There is a risk of breakage and resultant injury.
- The light-emitting diodes do not require changing, due to their extremely long duration. They cannot and must not be changed, as the LEDs are firmly attached to the magnifying glass.
- Do not use sharp chemicals, aggressive or abrasive detergents, but a slightly moistened cloth for cleaning.

Safety information regarding handling batteries

WARNING Risk of suffocation through batteries.

  • Keep batteries out of reach of children.
  • Seek medical attention immediately if one is swallowed.

CAUTION There are different risks involved when dealing with batteries.

  • Never attempt to recharge standard batteries, never short circuit batteries and/or open batteries. Doing so leads to a potential risk of overheating, fire or explosion.
  • Improper handling of batteries can put your health and the environment at risk. Batteries may contain toxic, ecologically hazardous heavy metals.
  • Ensure the connection terminals are not short-circuited.
  • Never throw batteries into a fire or water.
  • Never expose batteries to any mechanical loads.
  • Leaking batteries could cause damage to the device. If a battery should start to leak, remove it from the device immediately to prevent any further damage. Take the utmost care when handling damaged or leaking batteries and always wear protective gloves.

- Avoid any contact with the skin, eyes and mucous membranes. Rinse any parts of the body which have come into contact with battery acid with plenty of clean water and contact a doctor immediately. Avoid extreme conditions and temperatures which could affect the batteries, e.g. by placing them on radiators or exposing them to direct sunlight.

- Only use batteries of the type specified.

• Never use batteries of different types or new and old batteries together.

- Ensure batteries are inserted with the correct polarity.

- If the device will not be used for a longer period, switch the device off and remove the batteries.

- Remove empty batteries from the device and dispose of them according to the applicable directives.

• The batteries must be removed from the device before its disposal.

To Use the Magnifier

The LED illumination is controlled by a switch mounted on the left side of the handle. Slide the switch towards the lens to turn the lights on and slide it back to turn them off.

Replace the batteries

The LED lights are powered by 3 x LR1130 batteries. One set of batteries will be installed in the magnifier when you receive it. To change the batteries, unscrew the battery door located on the handle below the LED lights. The batteries are installed with the positive (+) side towards the right hand side of the battery compartment. (see picture). Always replace all three batteries at the same time. When you have fitted the batteries, replace the battery door and screw.
