Operating and Safety Instructions

When using this or any other electrical appliance, always follow these basic safety precautions, especially when children are present.

⚠ WARNING-To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, serious personal injury and property damage please note the following:

  • This appliance is not intended for use by children. Keep the appliance out of the reach of children and pets. Extra caution is necessary when using this appliance near children.
  • Always ensure the product is unplugged from the electrical outlet and allowed to cool before assembling, disassembling, relocating, or cleaning.
  • Do not leave the appliance unattended while it is in use. Always unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet when not in use.
  • Do not immerse or expose the Base, Power Cord, or Plug of this appliance in water or other liquids.
  • This appliance generates heat and steam during use, do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs when handling products. Use protective oven mitts to avoid burns or personal injury.
  • Do not use attachments not recommended or sold by the Manufacturer as it may cause fire, electric shock or injury.
  • Do not place appliance on or near a hot gas or electric burner, in a heated oven, or other heated surfaces.
  • Use extreme caution when moving an appliance containing food or liquids.
  • Use the product in a well-ventilated area. Keep at least 4-6 inches of space on all sides of the product to allow adequate air circulation.
  • Use appliance on a table or sturdy flat surface. Keep the appliance away from curtains, wall coverings, clothing, dishtowels, or other flammable materials.
  • Do not plug or unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet with a wet hand.
  • This appliance is intended solely for non-commercial, non-industrial, household use for the preparation of food or beverages for human consumption; do not use the product outdoors or for any other purpose.
  • Do not operate the appliance empty.
  • Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter where it may be tripped over or pulled. Do not allow cord to touch hot surfaces.
  • Do not operate the appliance if it has a damaged power cord or plug, if wires are exposed, if it malfunctions, if it is dropped or damaged, or if the motor housing is dropped in or exposed to water.
  • This appliance has no user-serviceable parts. Do not attempt to examine or repair this appliance yourself. Please review the Warranty Policy on Page 7.
  • Do not put any stress on the power cord where it connects to the appliance, as the power cord could fray and break.

- This appliance does not have an “OFF” feature, to shut off please disconnect from power supply.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS: A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk of becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. An extension cord is not recommended for use with this product, but if one must be used:

  • The marked electrical rating must be at least as great as that of the product.
  • Arrange the extension cord so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be tripped over or pulled.

WARNING: This product is equipped with a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other blade) to reduce the risk of electrical shock. This is a safety feature. The plug will fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If you are unable to insert the plug into the electrical outlet, try reversing the plug. If the plug still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Never use the plug with an extension cord unless you can fully insert the plug into the extension cord. Do not alter the plug. Do not attempt to defeat the safety purpose of the polarized plug.

Before First Use

IMPORTANT: Please check all packaging material carefully before discarding, as there may be accessory parts inside the packaging material.

NOTE: Before first use, clean all surfaces with a damp cloth and then dry.

Using your Brentwood Mini Waffle Maker:

Attention: First use may cause a slight odor or small smoking upon heating, it is normal. This is a result of the heating element chemical reaction. It quickly goes away.

  1. Lift the lid handle to open the Brentwood Mini Waffle Maker.
  2. Plug the power cord into a power outlet. The red power light will turn on. Close the lid to begin the preheating process.
  3. While preheating, prepare the batter.
  4. After approximately 2 to 3 minutes the light will be off, the unit is preheated and is ready for use.
  5. Recipes may vary in cook time and brownness; batters with more sugar will brown quicker. Note the perfect baking times for each batter recipe for future use (see suggested recipe below).

  6. When the Brentwood Mini Waffle Maker is preheated fill the plate with waffle batter evenly.

Note: Do not overfill, batter will expand when cooked.

  1. Hold the top lid handle and carefully close the Brentwood Mini Waffle Maker. Cooking time is around 5-6 minutes or until done.

Note: Check if ready by inserting a dry toothpick into the center of the waffle. When it comes out dry, the waffles are ready.

  1. If necessary, cover and continue cooking for 30 seconds at a time until waffles are browned and cooked to your liking.
  2. The red light will cycle on and off as the unit maintains baking temperatures.
  3. Wearing oven mitts, wipe the outside with a clean paper towel or cleaning cloth if necessary.
  4. At the end of the cooking time, use the handle to lift the top lid.
  5. Wearing oven mitts, remove waffle from the cooking plate using non-metallic utensil. A small plastic spoon will help to remove the waffle.

Note: Next batches to be made will cook faster as extra heat has been retained. Adjust the cooking time as needed.

  1. When baking is complete, unplug the power cord from the socket, and leave it open to allow it to cool down before cleaning.

Cleaning your Brentwood Mini Waffle Maker:

  • Always remove the plug from the power outlet when not in use and before starting to clean the appliance.
  • Never immerse the appliance in water and protect it from splashes and water droplets.
  • Before cleaning, allow the appliance to cool down to avoid the risk of burn.

Caution! Never use abrasive, corrosive, or caustic cleaning materials. These could damage the appliance as well as the non-stick coating.

Note: Do not leave it too long before cleaning the appliance, otherwise batter deposits may harden and be difficult to remove.

  • Remove crumbs and bigger batter deposits.
  • Wipe the appliance inside and out with a soft, damp cloth.
    • Thoroughly dry all parts before storing or using them again.
    • Store in a cool, dry place. Keep out of reach of children.

RECIPE IDEAS

Classic Belgian Waffle

Ingredients:2 Cups Flour4 tsps Baking Powder 12 Spoon Salt 14 Cup Sugar2 Eggs 12 Cup Melted Butter2 Cups Milk1 tsp Vanilla ExtractAlternate Ingredient:Directions:1. Preheat your Brentwood Mini Waffle Maker according to instructions.2. Mix the dry ingredients together in a large bowl, set aside.3. In a separate bowl, separate egg whites and beat until stiff peaks form.4. Mix the egg yolks, milk, melted butter, and vanilla, stir slightly.5. Add the dry ingredients and mix well. Then fold in egg
1 tsp Cinnamonwhites.6. Cook in the Brentwood Mini Waffle Maker between medium and high heat for 5-10 minutes.

Modern Belgian Waffle

Ingredients:1 (.25 oz) Active Dry Yeast 14 Cup Milk (warm) 234 Cup Milk (warm)3 Egg Yolks3 Egg Whites 34 Cup Butter melted and use lukewarm 12 Cup Sugar (white) 112 Tsp Salt2 tsps Vanilla Extract4 Cups All -Purpose FloorAlternate Ingredient:1 Tsp CinnamonDirections:1. Dissolve yeast in 14 cup warm milk in a bowl and let stand until creamy. (Approx. 8-10 minutes)2. Whisk the egg yolks, 14 cup of warm milk and butter (melted).3. While whisking, stir in sugar, salt, vanilla extract, and the yeast mixture.4. Next while whisking, stir in the remaining milk and flour, alternating. Finish with the flour last.5. Beat egg whites until soft peaks form, fold into the batter, cover tightly with wrap and let rise in a warm environment until size doubles.6. Preheat your Brentwood Mini Waffle Maker according to instructions.7. Pour mixture into Brentwood Mini Waffle Maker, do not over fill.8. Cooking time will be approximately: 5-10 Minutes on medium and high heat
