Loading The Salt Into The Softener

NOTE:
If your model does not have any water softener, you may skip this section. Always use salt intended for dishwasher use.
The salt container is located beneath the lower basket and should be filled as explained in the following:
WARNING
- Only use salt specifically designed for dishwashers use!
Every other type of salt not specifically designed for dishwasher use, especially table salt, will damage the water softener. In case of damages caused by the use of unsuitable salt the manufacturer does not give any warranty nor is liable for any damages caused.
• Only fill with salt before running a cycle.
This will prevent any grains of salt or salty water, which may have been spilled, remaining on the bottom of the machine for any period of time, which may cause corrosion.
Please follow the steps below for adding dishwasher salt:

- Remove the lower basket and unscrew the reservoir cap.
- Place the end of the funnel (if supplied) into the hole and pour in about 1 kg of dishwasher salt.
- Fill the salt container to its maximum limit with water, It is normal for a small amount of water to come out of the salt container.
- After filling the container, screw back the cap tightly.
- The salt warning light will turn off after the salt container has been filled with salt.
- Immediately after filling the salt into the salt container, a washing program should be started (We suggest to use a short program). Otherwise the filter system, pump or other important parts of the machine may be damaged by salty water. This is out of warranty.

NOTE:
- The salt container must only be refilled when the salt warning light (⇨) in the control panel comes on. Depending on how well the salt dissolves, the salt warning light may still be on even though the salt container is filled.
If there is no salt warning light in the control panel (for some models), you can estimate when to fill the salt into the softener by the cycles that the dishwasher has run.
• If salt has spilled, run a soak or quick program to remove it.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
- External Care
The door and the door seal
Clean the door seals regularly with a soft damp cloth to remove food deposits. When the dishwasher is being loaded, food and drink residues may drip onto the sides of the dishwasher door. These surfaces are outside the wash cabinet and are not accessed by water from the spray arms. Any deposits should be wiped off before the door is closed.
The control panel
If cleaning is required, the control panel should be wiped with a soft damp cloth only.
WARNING
- To avoid penetration of water into the door lock and electrical components, do not use a spray cleaner of any kind.
- Never use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads on the outer surfaces because they may scratch the finish. Some paper towels may also scratch or leave marks on the surface.
- Internal Care
Filtering system
The filtering system in the base of the wash cabinet retains coarse debris from the washing cycle, including foreign objects such as tooth picks or shards. The collected coarse debris may cause the filters to clog. Check the condition of the filters regularly, carefully remove foreign objects and clean the parts of the filtering system if necessary with water. Follow the steps below to clean the filter.

NOTE:
Pictures are only for reference, different models of the filtering system and spray arms may be different.

Caring For The Dishwasher
Frost precaution
please take frost protection measures on the dishwasher in winter. Every after washing cycles, please operate as follows:
- Cut off the electrical power to the dishwasher at the supply source.
- Turn off the water supply and disconnect the water inlet pipe from the water valve.
- Drain the water from the inlet pipe and water valve. (Use a pan to gather the water)
- Reconnect the water inlet pipe to the water valve.
- Remove the filter at the bottom of the tub and use a sponge to soak up water in the sump.
After every wash
After every wash, turn off the water supply to the appliance and leave the door slightly open for a while so that moisture and odors are not trapped inside.
Remove the plug
Before cleaning or performing maintenance, always remove the plug from the socket.
No solvents or abrasive cleaning
To clean the exterior and rubber parts of the dishwasher, do not use solvents or abrasive cleaning products. Only use a cloth with warm soapy water.
To remove spots or stains from the surface of the interior, use a cloth dampened with water an a little vinegar, or a cleaning product made specifically for dishwashers.
When not in use for a long time
It is recommend that you run a wash cycle with the dishwasher empty and then remove the plug from the socket, turn off the water supply and leave the door of the appliance slightly open. This will help the door seals to last longer and prevent odors from forming within the appliance.
Moving the appliance
If the appliance must be moved, try to keep it in the vertical position. If absolutely necessary, it can be positioned on its back.
Seals
One of the factors that cause odours to form in the dishwasher is food that remains trapped in the seals. Periodic cleaning with a damp sponge will prevent this from occurring.

MSmartLife App Troubleshooting
Troubleshooting tips for Midea Smart Appliances. These tips are written for products which contain a dual-band radio cable of working on either 2.4GHz or 5GHz WiFi networks. These instructions do not apply to Midea products which only have 2.4GHz radio.
Since networking technology is rapidly evolving, Midea recommends checking the MSmartLife app "Help" section for updated troubleshooting tips and recommendations.
Background :
Offering dual-band support provides choices and maximum flexibility of the product to have successful experience on home network.
Home networks can be expected to have multiple WiFi service possibilities, depending on how their router is configured. There are four WiFi router configuration modes: A, B, C and D.
A. 2.4GHz only ... e.g. older model WiFi router
• In this case dual band radio will automatically operate at 2.4GHz
B. 5GHz only ... some people may choose to turn off older 2.4GHz band due to conflicting interference
• In this case dual band radio will automatically operate at 5GHz
C. 2.4GHz and 5GHz sharing same SSID name ... e.g. JohnsWiFi
• In this case the WiFi router and dual-band radio will negotiate the best frequency to use
D. 2.4GHz and 5GHz with different SSID names ... e.g. JohnsWiFi_2G and JohnsWiFi_5G
- In only this case is there a choice which WiFi band to use.
Having a dual band radio in the appliance means it is not necessary to change routers or router configuration unless problems are experienced, in which case knowing what WiFi router configuration you have (see above A, B, C or D) is important to know and understand.
2.4GHz vs. 5GHz :
There are differing philosophies about which is better for IoT (Internet of Things) devices to use. One philosophy is to use 5GHz band for high bandwidth needs such as streaming audio/video and use 2.4GHz for IoT (Internet of Things) devices. According to radio wave theory, 2.4GHz should be able to penetrate through walls and objects better than 5GHz. Although 5GHz can support higher bandwidths than 2.4GHz, IoT devices don't need high bandwidth.
But there are other compelling reasons to use 5GHz even for IoT devices. The 2.4GHz space is more crowded with non-WiFi interference sources such as microwave ovens, cordless phones, wireless keyboards/mice, and other wireless devices (e.g. Bluetooth, Zigbee, etc.). Furthermore, 5GHz is much newer technology and is more likely to operate robustly and offer advanced features such as beamforming. The bottom line is that there is no way that Midea can recommend which band will operate best in your particular installation. By offering our appliances with a dual-band radio, it increases the likelihood of successful, robust connections in more installations without requiring changes to router configuration, or requiring a router upgrade. However, it is possible that in some situations that router changes will be required.
Troubleshooting Problems :
If unable to join network the first time
- Cannot see home SSID network :
- Weak signal ... Since appliance radio is dual-band this means neither 2.4GHz nor 5GHz signal is being received by the appliance. Just because the WiFi signal can be seen by the phone doesn't necessarily mean that the appliance radio can see it if the signal is marginal. Long distance between router and appliance or encountering too many barriers can reduce the signal level too much. Reorienting the router may improve the situation slightly. A better solution would be a WiFi repeater or a higher quality router. Recognize that all WiFi routers transmit power is limited by federal regulations, but a higher quality router can do a better job of transmitting the signal equally in all directions, have more sensitive receivers to better handle weak signals, and have higher quality software to minimize the dropping of connections.
• SSID network seen but cannot join :
- Networks requiring authentication ...often used with public networks at restaurants or hotels. Products cannot accept the legal agreement required to join the network. Please switch to a network that does not require authentication.
- Insufficient encryption ... for cybersecurity reasons Midea does not recommend products to join non-encrypted or insufficiently encrypted networks (e.g. WEP encryption).
- Password length ... for cybersecurity reasons Midea recommends networks to have strong passwords, but the maximum password length supported is 32 characters
- Incorrect password ... If trying to join a different network than the one the phone is currently using, then it is always possible that the network password in the phone is no longer correct. In this case, new credentials will need to be provided.
- Illegal SSID name ... Midea MSmartLife App accepts any SSID name, but the App may issue warning when attempting to join network with certain non-alphanumeric or foreign language characters.
- WLAN+ (Android) or WLAN Assistant (IOS) functions are turned on, please turn off and reconnect to the Internet.
If can join network but the connection is unstable
For WiFi configuration modes A, B and C, follow the instructions provided by your router manufacturer to make the indicated router configuration changes :
- In case of router configuration A (see above), Midea recommends enabling 5GHz band if it is disabled in your router and choosing a distinct SSID name for the 5GHz band (e.g. SSIDname_5G). Then follow the normal joining instructions to join the 5GHz network. If your router is an older 2.4GHz only router, Midea recommends upgrading to a newer dual-band router.
- In case of router configuration B (see above), Midea recommends enabling 2.4GHz band (all routers that offer 5GHz also support 2.4GHz), and choose a distinct SSID name for the 2.4GHz band (e.g. SSIDname_2G). Then follow the normal joining instructions to join the 2.4GHz network.
- In case of router configuration C (see above), Midea recommends assigning distinct SSID names for the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. Then follow the normal joining instructions to one of the networks, and subsequently follow the troubleshooting instructions for WiFi mode D.
For these steps router configuration changes are not required:
- In case of router configuration D (see above), then it is worthwhile to try operation on the other band before making changes to the router configuration or upgrading the router. In other words, if unstable connection using 2.4GHz then try 5GHz instead. Or if unstable connection using 5GHz then try 2.4GHz instead. Follow the instructions below "How to set the network to 2.4GHz or 5GHz."
- WLAN+ (Android) or WLAN Assistant (IOS) functions are turned on, please turn off and reconnect to the Internet.

Recommendations for loading the dishwasher
Scrape off any large amounts of leftover food. Soften remnants of burnt food in pans. It is not necessary to rinse the dishes under running water.
For best performance of the dishwasher, follow these loading guidelines.
(Features and appearance of baskets and cutlery baskets may vary from your model.)
Place objects in the dishwasher in the following way:
- Items such as cups, glasses, pots/pans, etc. must face downwards.
- Curved items, or ones with recesses, should be loaded aslant so that water can run off.
- All utensils are stacked securely and can not tip over.
- All utensils are placed in the way that the spray arms can rotate freely during washing.
- Load hollow items such as cups, glasses, pans etc. With the opening facing downwards so that water cannot collect in the container or a deep base.
- Dishes and items of cutlery must not lie inside one another, or cover each other.
• To avoid damage, glasses should not touch one another. - The upper basket is designed to hold more delicate and lighter dishware such as glasses, coffee and tea cups.
- Long bladed knives stored in an upright position are a potential hazard!
- Long and / or sharp items of cutlery such as carving knives must be positioned horizontally in the upper basket.
- Please do not overload your dishwasher. This is important for good results and for reasonable consumption of energy.

NOTE:
Very small items should not be washed in the dishwasher as they could easily fall out of the basket.
WARNING

Items will be hot! To prevent damage, do not take glass and cutlery out of the dishwasher for around 15 minutes after the program has ended.

Function Of The Rinse Aid And Detergent
The rinse aid is released during the final rinse to prevent water from forming droplets on your dishes, which can leave spots and streaks. It also improves drying by allowing water to off the dishes. Your dishwasher is designed to use liquid rinse aids. run
WARNING
Never fill the rinse aid dispenser with any other substances (e.g. Dishwasher cleaning agent, liquid detergent). This would damage the appliance.
When to refill the rinse aid dispenser
Unless the rinse-aid warning light ( ※ ) on the control panel is on, you can always estimate the amount from the color of the optical level indicator located next to the cap. When the rinse-aid container is full, the indicator will be fully dark. The size of the dark dot decreases as the rinse-aid diminishes. You should never let the rinse aid level be less than 1/4 full.
As the rinse aid diminishes, the size of the black dot on the rinse aid level indicator changes, as illustrated below.
