2. PRODUCT FEATURES

2.1. DESCRIPTION OF THE DEVICE

The WBBC4F1 is a built-in induction hob suitable for preparing food. Each cooking zone can be operated individually and has 9 settings. All cooking zones have a booster function that allows pans to be heated up more quickly. The timer function allows you to set exactly how long a pan should be heated. The timer function can also be used as a cooking timer. With the child lock function, the buttons on the control panel are locked to prevent them from being accidentally pressed.

3. INSTALLATION

Before installing the appliance, carefully review the safety information in Section 1.

3.1. REQUIREMENTS ON THE LOCATION OF INSTALLATION

Place the appliance at a location that satisfies the following conditions:

  • A flat, stable, heat-resistant and moisture-resistant surface.
  • At least 65 cm free space on the sides of the appliance to a cabinet or wall.
  • At least 65 cm of free space at the top of the appliance.
  • Not in direct sunlight.
  • Well ventilated.
  • Not directly next to heat sources, such as heaters or stoves.
    • Not above machines that emit moisture, such as refrigerators and washing machines.
    • If the appliance is installed above an oven, the oven must be fitted with a built-in cooling fan.
  • An earthed socket within 130 cm.
  • Direct access to the earthed socket at all times.
  • The earthed socket is connected to one or more separate power groups with sufficient power for the appliance and a properly accessible isolation switch. Are one or more of the above connections missing? If so, call on a qualified technician to install the required connections before installing the appliance.

  1. Place the appliance with the control panel facing down on the packaging.
  2. Stick the sealing tape provided onto the bottom of the appliance along the entire outer edge. Make sure the sealing tape overlaps so that there are no cracks between the different sections of sealing tape.
  3. Place the appliance in the hob cutout.
  4. Check that the appliance fits fully in the hob cutout and that the glass plate makes full contact with the surface.

  • Pans made entirely from stainless steel, aluminium or copper without a magnetic bottom, glass, wood, porcelain, ceramic or earthenware.
  • Hollow-bottomed pans.
  • Pans smaller than 10 cm in diameter on the 16 cm diameter cooking zones.
  • Pans smaller than 12 cm in diameter on the 18 cm diameter cooking zones.

4.4.1. TURNING ON THE APPLIANCE

  1. Press the on/off button to turn on the appliance.
    A sound signal is heard.
  2. Place a pan on the cooking zone. Make sure the cooking zone and the bottom of the pan are clean and dry.
    After one minute of inactivity, the appliance automatically switches off.

4.4.2. ADJUSTING THE POWER SETTING

  1. Press any point on the power level control of a cooking zone of your choice.
  2. Swipe over the power level control or press any point to adjust the power level.
    The power setting can be adjusted during cooking.

NOTE

The letter "H" on the display indicates which cooking zone is too hot to touch. The letter "H" disappears when the surface has cooled to a safe temperature. If you want to heat another pan immediately after using the cooking zone, you can place it on the still warm cooking zone to save energy.

4.4.3. USING THE STOP AND START FUNCTION

  1. Press the stop and start button to activate the function.
    The display shows ||.
  2. Press the stop and start button to cancel the function.
    The cooking zone returns to the previously set position.

NOTE

Make sure the cooking zone is switched on before using this function.

4.4.4. USING THE BOOSTER FUNCTION

The booster button can set a cooking zone to the maximum power.

  1. Press the control button of a cooking zone of your choice.

  2. Press and hold the booster button for 3 seconds.

The booster is switched on. The cooking zone heats up. The display shows the letter P.

After five minutes, the booster function switches off. The cooking zone continues to heat at the highest power setting.

You can also turn off the booster function before the booster has expired:

  1. Press the control button of the cooking zone with the booster.

  2. Press the power level button to turn off the booster. The cooking zone continues heating at the power level that you have pressed.

  3. Swipe the power setting control adjust the power.

4.4.5. SETTING THE COOKING TIMER

  1. Select a cooking zone.
  2. Press - or + under TIMER.
    The number 30 flashes on the display.
  3. Set the cooking timer in one of the following two ways:
    A. Press - or + to increase or decrease the time by 1 minute.
    B. Press and hold - or + to increase or decrease the time by 10 minutes.
    When the cooking timer is activated, the display shows the remaining time and flashes for 5 seconds.
    When the time is up, the cooking timer switches off and the display shows --.

NOTE

Press - to cancel the cooking timer. The display shows 00 and then --.

4.4.6. SETTING THE TIMER

  1. Press - or + under TIMER.
    The number 30 flashes on the display.
  2. Set the timer in one of the following two ways:
    A. Press - or + to increase or decrease the time by 1 minute.
    B. Press and hold - or + to increase or decrease the time by 10 minutes.
    When the timer is set, the display shows the remaining time and flashes for 5 seconds.
    When the time is up, the buzzer will beep for 30 seconds and the timer switches off automatically.
    The timer time can be set between 0 and 99 minutes.
    When multiple timers are used, the display shows the time of the timer that expires first.
    Press the control button of a cooking zone to see the remaining time of the timer.

NOTE

Press - to cancel the timer. The display shows 00 and then --.

4.4.7. USING THE MEMORY FUNCTION

  1. Select a cooking zone.
  2. Set the power level and/or time.
  3. Press and hold the memory button for 3 seconds.
    The display flashes to save your setting.
  4. Select the chosen cooking zone.
  5. Press the memory button.
    This cooking zone can now be used with the preset power setting and/or time.
  6. Return to step 1 to cancel or change your settings.

4.4.8. USING THE CHILD SAFETY LOCK

  1. Press the child lock button to enable the child lock.
    The display shows L0. You can only operate the on/off button and child lock button.
    The display also shows L0 if another button is pressed, this is to indicate that the child lock is enabled.
  2. Press and hold the child lock button for 3 seconds to disable the child lock.
    The child lock does not switch off when the appliance is switched off.

4.4.9. USING THE KEEP WARM FUNCTION

The keep warm function allows a zone to maintain a lower power level in order to stay at a constant temperature.

  1. Select a cooking zone.
  2. Press the keep warm button.
    The display shows A.
  3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 to switch off the keep warm function.

  1. Remove lime and water rings, grease splashes and metallic shiny discolorations with a damp cloth and detergent.
  2. Remove shiny metal discolorations with a damp cloth and a solution of water and vinegar.
  3. Clean the outside of the device with a soft, damp cloth.
  4. Dry all parts with a soft cloth.

  • RISK OF BURNS DUE TO HEAT. Never touch hot parts of the appliance. Do not touch anything except the control panel or wait until the appliance has cooled down completely.

6.1. TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE POSSIBLE SOLUTION
The appliance refuses to turn on. The power cable is not connected to an earthed socket.Plug the power cable into an earthed socket.
The power cable is not connected correctly to an earthed socket.
There is no voltage on the earthed socket.
The fuse is blown or defective. Check the fuse and replace if necessary.
The control buttons do not respond. The buttons on the control panel are locked.Unlock the control panel. See section 4.4.8. for instructions.
The control buttons are difficult to operate.There could be a thin layer of water on the control panel or you might be using your fingertip to touch the control buttons.Make sure the control panel is dry and touch the control buttons with a flat finger.
There are scratches on the glass plate. Pans with jagged edges or damaged pans have been used, or the glass plate has been cleaned with an abrasive sponge or unsuitable detergent.Use pans with a flat and smooth bottom. See section 4.3. Choosing the right cookware and 5. Cleaning and maintenance.
There is a creaking or clicking sound.The pan is made of different materials.The different materials of the pan do not affect the preparation process and do not damage the appliance. You don't have to do anything.
There's a buzzing sound. The cooking zone is used at a high power level.The high power setting does not affect the preparation process and does not damage the appliance. You don't have to do anything.The sound gradually softens or disappears when the power level is reduced.
The pan does not heat up and a U appears on the display.The induction hob cannot detect the pan because it is not suitable for cooking using induction.Use pans that are suitable for cooking using induction. See section 4.3.Choosing the right cookware.
The induction hob cannot detect the pan because it is too small for the cooking zone or is not properly centred.Place the pan in the centre of the cooking zone, making sure its bottom is exactly the same size as the cooking zone.
The induction hob or a cooking zone unexpectedly switches off, a beep sounds and an error code is displayed (usually alternating with one or two digits on the timer display).The appliance has a technical problem.Note the letters and numbers of the error message, switch off the power to the induction hob and contact a qualified service technician.

6.2. ERROR MESSAGES ON THE DISPLAY

ERROR MESSAGE POSSIBLE CAUSE POSSIBLE SOLUTION
F3/F4 There is a fault in the temperaturesensor of the coil.Please contact customer service.
F9/FA There is a fault in the temperaturesensor of the IGBT.
E1/E2 The supply voltage is too high or too low.Check that the power supply is normal. Reset the device.
E3 The coil's temperature sensor hasbecome overheated.Press the on/off switch to switch off the device. Allow the appliance to cool down completely. Reset the device.
E5 The temperature sensor of the IGBT hasbecome overheated.

In the event of an error message, the appliance will stop heating. The display shows the error message. Please contact customer service.

7. TRANSPORT AND STORAGE

  1. Clean the appliance. Follow the instructions in chapter 5. Cleaning and maintenance.
  2. Cut the sealing tape with a knife.
  3. Carefully remove the appliance from its place.
  4. Unplug the power cable from the earthed socket.
  5. Store the appliance in its original packaging in a dry and ventilated space.
