SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
IMPORTANT PRECAUTIONS:
This appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or a separate remote-control system. This appliance has been designed for domestic use only.
It has not been designed for use in the following cases, which are not covered by the warranty:
- In staff kitchen areas in shops, offices, and other professional environments,
- In farmhouses,
- By clients in hotels, motels, and other residential-type environments,
- In bed and breakfast type environments.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
Our appliance is intended solely for domestic use indoors and at an altitude below 2000 m. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its after-sales service, or similarly qualified persons to avoid a hazard.
Bread may burn, therefore do not use the toaster near or below combustible materials such as curtains (shelves, furniture, etc.).
This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above and by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children unless they are older than 8 years and supervised.
- Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children under 8 years. Use a cloth to clean the parts in contact with bread. After each use, empty the crumb tray located in the lower part of the toaster.
* The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high when the appliance is operating. Do not touch the hot surfaces of the appliance.
For your safety, this appliance complies with applicable standards and regulations (Low Voltage Directive, Electromagnetic Compatibility, materials in contact with food, environment, etc.). In accordance with the opinion of the CSC of 2/12/04, this product is equipped with a mechanical design that allows the bread ejection system to be separated from the power cut-off element. Check that the mains voltage corresponds to that indicated on the appliance (alternating current). - Given the diversity of standards in force, if the appliance is used in a country other than the one where it was purchased, have it checked by an approved service station (see attached list). ■ Make sure the electrical installation complies with current standards and is sufficient to power an appliance of this power.
- Always connect the appliance to an earthed socket. Use only a good condition extension cord with an earthed plug and a conductor cross-section at least equal to the wire supplied with the product.
PREVENTION OF DOMESTIC ACCIDENTS
When using electrical appliances, a number of basic rules must be respected, in particular the following:

■ Read the instruction manual completely and follow the usage instructions carefully. The appliance must be exclusively in an upright position, never lying down, tilted, or upside down for its operation. ■ Before each use, check that the crumb tray is properly positioned in its housing.
Remove crumbs regularly through the tray.
The carriage control button must be in the high position when you plug in or unplug your appliance. - Unplug the appliance when not in use and before cleaning. Wait for it to cool down before cleaning or storing. ■ At the end of the cycle, if the bread slices remain stuck between the grids, unplug and wait for the appliance to cool down before removing the bread. Unplug the appliance if any malfunction occurs. ■ Use a stable work surface away from water splashes and in no case in a built-in kitchen niche.

Do not store the cord or plug inside the appliance between the grids.
Do not unplug the appliance by pulling on the cord. Do not carry or move the appliance during use.
Never leave the appliance running unattended, especially during the first toasting or after changing settings. Do not use the appliance for any purpose other than that for which it was designed. Do not touch the metal or hot parts of the appliance while it is in use. Do not use or insert metal utensils (spoon, knife, etc.) into the toaster, as they could cause short circuits. Do not add accessories to the toaster that are not recommended by the manufacturer, as this may be dangerous. To avoid electric shock, do not immerse the power cord, plug, or the entire appliance in water.
Do not toast breads that may melt (with icing), drip, or fall into the toaster; do not toast foods that may slip between the grids (e.g., rolls, croutons, blinis, etc.), as this could cause damage or a fire hazard. Do not insert overly large slices of bread that could jam the toaster mechanism.
Do not use the appliance if:
- the power cord is defective or damaged,
- the appliance has been dropped and shows visible damage or malfunctions.
In any of these cases, the appliance must be sent to the nearest approved after-sales service center to avoid any danger. Consult the warranty.
Do not let the cord hang over the edge or touch any hot surfaces. Use the appliance only indoors. Avoid damp places. Do not place the toaster on any hot surface or too close to a hot oven. Do not cover the appliance while it is operating. The appliance must be used under supervision. Never place paper, cardboard, or plastic in, on, or under the appliance.
If any part of the product catches fire, never attempt to
extinguish it with water. Unplug the appliance and smother the flames with a damp cloth.
Never attempt to remove bread while the toasting cycle is in progress. Do not use the toaster as a source of heat or for drying. Do not use the toaster to cook, grill, reheat, or defrost frozen dishes. Do not use the appliance simultaneously for toasting bread and warming pastries (depending on model). The metal rack is very hot. Avoid touching it. Use oven mitts or tongs (depending on model). For maintenance, do not use harsh products (soda-based cleaners, metal polishes, bleach, etc.), metal utensils, scouring pads, or abrasive sponges.
