  • After unpacking and before use, the box must be placed on a flat surface and left to rest for at least 6 hours.
  • Ensure that the freezer box is as level as possible during operation. The angle of inclination must be less than 45^ for short periods of operation and less than 5^ for continuous operation.
  • NEVER turn the box upside down to empty it and allow it to drain. Do not use sharp tools for defrosting; do not damage the refrigerant circuit.
  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

CHARGING THE OPTIONAL BATTERY

The battery can be charged only when installed (in the freezer box). For example, it can be charged via an adapter on the mains supply or with a suitable cigarette lighter connection on the vehicle electrical system or via a solar panel. Please refer to the illustrations and technical data on the next page.

We generally recommend charging with the freezer box switched off, but if necessary it can also be charged while the refrigerator is running. In this case, make sure that the input power of the charger is higher than the working power of the box (approx. 40-45 W). If this is not the case, the battery will discharge in any case.

Skandika Routa 45 - CHARGING THE OPTIONAL BATTERY - 1

If you connect the box to a solar panel, please place it in a cool place to dissipate the heat.

It is recommended to use a 100W solar panel. The maximum solar input voltage must not exceed 50V and the maximum input current must not exceed 10A.

Note: The output of the solar panel is unstable, so it cannot power the freezer box directly.

For your information:

Discharge time: The battery has a discharge protection that automatically switches off the power supply when the charge level is low. The battery lasts about 4 hours after it has been fully charged. If the temperature of the freezer box is set to +2 to +8^ (ambient temperature 25^ ), it can last for 12 hours after the internal temperature has stabilised. Remove the battery or switch it off to prevent self-discharge when the box is not in use.

USE

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

Cleaning:

Switch off the appliance first and disconnect the power supply to avoid electric shock. Remove the lid and the drain from the opening at the bottom of the appliance.

Clean the appliance with a damp cloth and dry it. Do not soak the box in water and do not wash it directly. Do not use abrasive cleaning agents when cleaning, as these can damage the appliance.

Storage:

If you are not using the appliance for a longer period of time, please follow these instructions:

  • Switch off the appliance and disconnect the power supply.
  • Remove all items stored in the appliance.
  • Wipe off excess water with a soft cloth.
  • Place the appliance in a cool and dry place.
  • Leave the storage compartment covers slightly open to prevent odours from forming.
  • Recommended storage environment: Ambient temperature: 25^ C ,ambient humidity: ≤ 75% .

Defrost:

Moisture can lead to frost forming inside the cooling unit or on the evaporator. This reduces the cooling capacity. Defrost the appliance in good time to avoid this. To do this, switch off the appliance beforehand and disconnect the power supply to avoid an electric shock.

Remove all items stored in the appliance. Leave the storage compartment covers open. Wipe off the defrosted water.

Never use hard or pointed tools to remove ice or loosen frozen objects that are frozen!

TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem: Cooling is not working or not working correctly

Check whether the switch is switched on and the power supply is connected correctly.

Check whether the fuse has blown or the power supply is otherwise faulty.

Frequently switching the cooling on and off can lead to a delay in starting the compressor. If you have the impression that it is too warm in the storage compartments, this may be due to frequent opening of the covers or the recent storage of hot food.

Problem: Stored food is frozen

Check whether the temperature is set too low.

Problem: Loud noises can be heard when switching on or „running water“ can be heard during operation or drops of water are forming on the outside of the appliance.

These are all normal phenomena and do not indicate a malfunction.

Possible cause: undervoltage. Set the battery protection from High to Medium or from Medium to Low. Switch off the battery or connect the compressor and the battery to a 12/24V or 100-240V (with the adapter) power supply in good time to prevent the battery from discharging via leakage current over a longer period of time.

Display ,F2“:

Possible cause: Fan is overloaded. Disconnect the box from the power supply for 5 minutes and restart it.

Display „F3“/ „F4“:

Possible cause: The compressor starts too often (F3) or does not start (F4). Disconnect the power supply for 5 minutes and restart.

Display ,F5“:

Possible cause: Overheating of the compressor and electronics. Disconnect the power supply for 5 minutes and restart.

Display „F6“:
