How to install the Kappa 8130M speaker?

Cut a hole to the indicated dimensions (177.4 mm for the woofer, 115.9 mm for the tweeter). Apply the self-adhesive foam gasket on the speaker frame for waterproofing. Secure with the included screws. For the tweeter, use the 2-pin tool to remove it from the woofer, then place it in the mounting bracket and lock it by turning 45° counterclockwise.

How to connect the LED lighting?

Connect the LED wires (black for +12V, red, green, blue) to the included female connector. If using a separate controller, connect each wire to the corresponding output. For direct wiring, connect the black wire to the positive terminal and the colored wires (R, G, B) to the negative terminal to obtain the desired color (7 possible combinations).

What are the available lighting colors?

7 colors depending on wiring: red (red wire), green (green wire), blue (blue wire), yellow (red+green), purple (red+blue), cyan (blue+green), white (red+green+blue). Connect the black wire to +12V and the colored wires to ground.

How to remove the tweeter from the woofer?

Use the supplied 2-pin tool. Insert the pins into the holes of the tweeter grille and turn 45° clockwise to loosen it, then remove it.

What is the speaker impedance?

The nominal impedance is 3 ohms. Due to this low impedance, do not wire two or more speakers in parallel on an amplifier, as this could cause overheating and damage the amplifier.

Can I use this speaker in a non-marine environment?

Yes, it can be used indoors, but it is specifically designed for marine use with water-sealing gaskets. Installation must be done carefully to ensure waterproofing.

What tools are needed for installation?

Basic tools: drill, hole saw or utility knife for cutouts, screwdriver, and the supplied 2-pin tool for the tweeter. Follow the indicated cutout dimensions.

How to clean the speaker?

Use a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive products, solvents, or harsh cleaners that could damage the surface or gaskets.

What to do if the speaker does not work?

Check the audio cable connections (polarity + and -) and the LED power supply. Make sure the amplifier is on and the total impedance is correct (do not exceed 3 ohms per channel). If the problem persists, consult an authorized Infinity dealer.

Where to find spare parts?

Contact an authorized Infinity dealer or customer service. Keep the invoice and instructions for reference. Parts like the tweeter, cable, or LED connector can be ordered separately.

SPEAKER SIGNAL WIRING

To send signal to the Infinity marine speaker, connect the positive (+) and negative (-) speaker wires to the appropriate speaker outputs of your source unit or amplifier. Be sure to observe proper polarity.

SPEAKER LED WIRING

To provide power for the LEDs, plug the 24-gauge black (+), blue, green, and red LED wires from the speaker into the included female connector, then run the wires from the female connector to your compatible 12-volt power source or light controller (sold separately). If using a separate controller, be sure to connect each wire to the proper output.

If hardwiring the LEDs directly to your power source, you can choose the color of the LEDs by connecting the black wire to the positive (+) terminal, and the appropriate R, G, and/or B single wire or combination of wires to the negative (-) terminal.

There are 7 possible colors, depending on the wiring configuration you choose:

APPLYING FOAM SEAL

To help seal your installation against water, and to provide an airtight acoustic seal, apply the self-adhesive foam seal to the speaker frame.

MOUNTING THE SPEAKER

Use the included screws to mount the speaker to the location. Use the included speed clips if necessary to provide a secure mount.

NOTE: Use caution when cutting and using screws with fiberglass to prevent scratches and cracks.

REMOVING THE TWEETER FOR SEPARATE MOUNTING (KAPPA 8 ONLY)

Use the included 2-pin tool to remove the tweeter from the woofer housing. Place the pins of the tool in the holes of the tweeter grille and rotate 45 degrees clockwise to loosen and remove.

FLUSH-MOUNTING THE TWEETER

Place the tweeter in the mounting bracket and use the tool to secure by turning 45 degrees counter-clockwise.

To transmit audio signal to the tweeter, make sure the woofer and tweeter are connected with the included cable.

Place the tweeter in the mounting location, then turn each setscrew clockwise to tighten mounting brackets. Use caution so as not to overtighten. Snap the included outer ring over the mounting bracket to hide the setscrews.
