Before using your appliance for the first time
Check that the voltage on the appliance's rating plate corresponds to the voltage marked on your mains supply meter.
WIRING INSTRUCTIONS (UK and EIRE only)
Appliance with fitted plug.
Important: for your convenience, this appliance is fitted with a complete plug incorporating a 3 amp fuse.
In the event of replacing a fuse in the plug supplied, a 3 amp fuse approved by ASTA to B1362 must be used.
If the socket outlets in your home are not of the 13 A, BS1363 type, and therefore do not accept the plug connected to this appliance, then cut off the plug.
When cut off, this plug is a shock hazard if inserted into a socket outlet. It must therefore be disposed of safely.
Fit the appropriate plug as instructed below. With alternative plugs, a 5 amp fuse must be fitted either in the plug or adaptor or at the main fuse box.
Appliance without a fitted plug.
The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code:
blue : neutral brown : live
If the colours do not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, please proceed as follows. The wire which is coloured Blue must be connected to the terminal with the letter "N" or coloured black. The wire which is coloured Brown must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter "L" or coloured red. If a 13 amp (BS1363) plug is used, a 3 amp fuse must be fitted, or if any other type of plug is used, a 5 amp fuse must be fitted either in the plug or adaptor or at the distribution board.
This appliance is manufactured to conform to Low Voltage Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 1989 and is designed to comply with BS3456. It complies with the requirements of the EEC Directive 89/336/EEC.
Any error in connecting the appliance invalidates the guarantee.
Neither wire must be connected to the Earth terminal of a 3 pin plug.
If the mains lead is damaged, it should be replaced by a Moulinex approved Service Agent, as special tools are required.
Safety advice
Please follow the instructions below carefully as a security measure when using the Illico mini chopper:
- unplug the appliance after each use,
- do not clean the motor unit under running water nor wash it in a dishwasher; clean it with a damp cloth,
Warning : handle the blade with care: it is very sharp,
Important:
- do not use the appliance when it is empty,
- in order to obtain smooth and finely chopped meat, distribute the meat evenly in the bowl with a spatula,
- the blade may need replacing after heavy long term use: a new blade will give you first class results from your appliance,
- allow the applause to cool down for 2 minutes after each use.
Using your Illico Mini Chopper

- inside the bowl (C), place the blade (D) on the blade support (E) and the ingredients to be chopped,
- place the lid (B) in the bowl (C) and turn to lock (until you hear it click into place),
- place the motor unit on the lid-bowl assembly by twisting it slightly, so that the blade axis fits into the motor unit axis,
- plug in your appliance,
- press down on the motor unit (A), and the mini-chopper starts up immediately,
- unplug the appliance, and wait for the blade to stop completely
- remove the motor unit (A), the lid (B), by pressing down on the two tabs (B1) and the blade (D)
. Shaker lid:

After chopping, you can sprinkle your ingredients directly on to a plate; you simply have to replace the lid (B) with the shaker lid (F). You can now sprinkle according to the ingredients:
. small holes: biscuits, hazelnuts, sugar, salt, pepper,
. big holes: parsley, garlic, ham, yolk,

How to make a success of your mayonnaise?
Ingredients: 1 yolk, 1 teaspoonful of mustard, 1 tablespoonful of water, 1 tablespoonful of vinegar, 100 ml of oil, salt, pepper.
- put the ingredients into the bowl and add 1 tablespoonful of the oil,
- premix the ingredients in your mini chopper for 20 secs,
- add the remaining oil and operate for 40 secs.
It is important that all the ingredients are at the same temperature.
Storage
After use, you can store your mini chopper by wrapping the cord around the motor unit (G) and attaching the sucker (H).
